Fox News Analyst Was Victoria's Secret Model

Back in 1994, Kimberly Guilfoyle was in law school and needed some extra cash and did some modeling. Apparently she was so good at it that she ended up in the pages of Victoria's Secret. This should not matter and would not matter except Guilfoyle works for Fox News and last week one of the host of Fox News said they hired their female anchors by looking at the Victoria's Secret catalog and asking if any of them can speak. The anchor rightfully got a lot of crap for that statement, but it turns out he was right because Guilfoyle did actually appear in the catalog. Kimberly used to be married to the former mayor of San Francisco, Gavin Newsom.

  1. Why is this surprising? In any way?

  2. She is such a phony! She got lucky with looks and a dog mauling case in San Francisco.

  3. soooooooo... is she getting fired from her job like the teacher in NYC did? I'm sure she's not, but isn't that FUCKED UP? teacher gets fired, but not the news anchor? is it possible to be sexist within the same sex?

  4. Kimberly is a lawyer she is more than a pretty face. Kinda unfair to lump her in with some empty headed pieces of fluff because she found a way to earn more money than slinging burgers at McDonalds. Law school ain't cheap.

  6. dear timebob, I must agree with you. I bet lots of models (VS or otherwise) are more than just a pretty face. hell, look at that little VS model that sliced her neck up at a Kate Moss after party, there is SO MUCH MORE going on there... haha

  7. So because one Fox anchor appeared in the Victoria's Secret catalogue almost twenty years ago, no less... that proves Kilmeade was correct about all of the women on Fox News?

Yet another stretch on CDaN, to say the least.

  8. Okay, littlejenny, here's a response:

Apples (schoolteacher, dealing with youth, public employee) to oranges (newsanchor, in a looks-based medium, working for a private corporation).

  9. @littlejenny
She's not going to lose her job. It's not like she is the most insightful talking head on Fox. Heck, I'm sure she got the job because of her looks.

  10. Ok @Jenny, I'll bite. I identify myself as a feminist, and I say it's probably more likely that the co-anchor was being snarky/bitchy rather than sexist. We women can be the best of friends or mercilessly cruel to each other. She came off as jealous and/or mean in my opinion.

  11. @jenny not sure your logic behind comparing a guidance counselor (she wasn't a teacher) and a fox news anchor, Fox hires Miss America types all the time.

Fox is a for profit corporation while a school is a not for profit public school system that has to uphold moral guidelines for children. I don't agree with the woman being fired, but her pictures became a nuisance in the school and I hope she does sue and win.

PS don't pander for opinions on your postings, it comes off kinda trolly.

  12. There are tons of law students that are working the stroll and/or stripping; nothing new or surprising.

  13. @ Jenny sexist within the same sex is like the term 'reverse racism.' It indicates that you don't understand what words mean.

  14. she was an anchor on the old court tv for a long time too, so it's not like she's just a model. she was also the prosecutor in the SF dog mauling case. i don't watch FOX (i prefer real news), but her modeling is certainly not the only thing she's done in her life.

  15. It's so funny to hear her parrot the FOX right wing talking points... she sounds sooooo insincere.

  16. Feminists and religious fundamentalists protecting children's sexual innocence. What strange bedfellows.

  17. work it, girl.

@jemtastic, my friends are not at that point, but it breaks my heart to hear that. not necessarily surprising, though...

  18. Oh, no! She's a lawyer AND has a hot body? OUTRAGE!!! Doesn't she know that she has to pick ONE???

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm certainly no fan of Fox News, but I don't see why she should be penalized because one anchor made a dumb joke, probably about how hot a lot of female Fox anchors are. So she worked her way through law school partly as a model, so what?

  20. Agreed that beauty and brains are not mutually exclusive.

I re-connected with a former co-worker after working abroad for a few years. When we worked together, she was a programmer for the company GIS. Moved to the BBC doing their weather GIS, was asked to stand in for a presenter one day who was taken ill, became full time presenter, moved to news, now presents on Sky News in UK as an anchor! She has her own fan sites now!

Oh, and Fox is owned by News Corp, who own Sky and The Sun newspaper, famous for bringing out the bewbs on page 3, despite many a campaign against.

  21. I thought her being a VS model was common knowledge? The news in the Bay Area made a reference to this before she ever married Newsom in 2001.

Fox News, you're a little late!

  22. Why is this a story? BTW, I enjoy her on The Five.

  23. the only tragedy here is someone stole this poor girl's ankles!
    odd angle.

  24. HAHAHA!!!! I know Kimberly! She was a lingerie model true! But her crazy ass WISHES it were Victoria secret! It was more like the Sunday pull out section for Macy's and mervyns. This was in like 2000. she has never his the fact that she modeled panties but she embellishes to say the least. she was screwing all of the Getty brothers before she married Gavin who was best friends with the Gettys. The girl has an interesting past.

  25. Oh please. It's common knowledge Guilfoyle was a Vicky Secret model. She's hot and totally smart. She always is on point and she makes for great TV. Girlfriend has a fierce body. I love The Five. One of my most fave shows. I love the whole panel. I think they're great.

  26. aaaaaaand ladies and gentlemen THIS is why we still need feminism in the 21st century, despite what Carla Bruni may say. Obviously some people cant get over the fact that a woman can be smart, professionally competent AND pretty.
