After seven years of marriage, Danica Patrick said on her Facebook page that she and her husband are splitting. This was kind of like the real Days Of Thunder scenario but without the really bad acting or script. Danica met her husband when he was treating her for an injury. The two were married when he was 40 and she was 23. So, yeah, a bit of an age gap, but the guy looks pretty good for being 47. At this point in her career, Danica is just a middling driver who is losing her appeal as an endorser. Maybe the split will help her focus more on her driving.
My brother posted about this on FB and I was so disappointed that Winnie Cooper from The Wonder Years was getting divorced. Reading FAIL.

But she's a bitch and the fans have seen her tantrums And heard her lay blame on her crew which you don't do. She needs to go back to Indy

ReplyDeleteNASCAR rednecks need to go suck. Girl can drive. The "driving" in NASCAR is all about tire management and selling beer to hillbillies. Danica could smoke 95% of the current NASCAR field in rally cars (i.e., true race driving).

ReplyDeleteButter, while I cannot claim to know B.'s mind or intent,I can tell you that Danica hasn't been as successful in NASCAR as was hoped when she made the move from the Indy car series. Some folks feel this indicates that she's not a good enough driver, while others, like B., I presume, feel that her lack of success is due to poor management more than her driving skills.

ReplyDeleteNASCAR is still a good ole boys club, and I don't think they ever knew what to do with her. It isn't as savvy as the Indy/Formula One racing.
If she wasn't so tiny, and someone from her crew couldn't hoist her over their shoulders, she would have caused an even bigger Pit fight than the one last week.
IMO she is being cock blocked in NASCAR, and won't go back to Indy/F1 racing, because the $$ is firmly in NASCAR at the moment.
Formula One racing is ten times more fun to watch. I gotta agree with you on this one B Profane. NASCAR sucks the big one.

Danica is constantly wrecking her sprint cup car. If her marriage is on the rocks, I can see it impacting her on track performance.

ReplyDeleteAwhile back, the commenter Libby told the story that in her waitressing days, two guys approached her about becoming the first female NASCAR driver, but she did not take them seriously or have interest in it or something, and a while later, Danica entered the picture. So imagine if....
Ever since two days after she made that post, I have wanted the subject to come back up so she could retell the story and I could make the obvious "pit crew" joke I didn't think of at the time.
