Blossom Getting Divorced
Mayim Bialik, the former star of Blossom and currently on Big Bang Theory is getting divorced after nine years of marriage. Apparently having four people in the bed at the same time for the past few years was a little much for her husband. I know she says that the attachment parenting thing played no part, but to all live one room has to get to be a bit much after a while and Mayim said she planned on continuing it for the next few years. I hate to see couples split during the holidays, especially if they have children. Mayim is going to work full-time now and will get some nannies to replace her. They will wear wigs and talk about neuroscience so it will be like mom never left.
I have to say that even though I think she takes the attachment parenting thing too far (just my opinion), this makes me sad. Especially because there are kids involved. Hope life treats her and hers well.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY THANKSGIVING, CDaN! I hope you all have a lovely day. I'm celebrating on Saturday, so today is just a normal day for me. Hopefully some of you will stick around and keep me entertained today. Dance, puppets, DANCE!! =)
Why is this post so bitchy? This is Blossom! not LiLo or Wilmer Valderrama etc.... Save it for somebody who deserves it.
ReplyDeleteI made collard greens for the first time.....SUCCESS! MR LITE LOVES THEM! Got the collard greens, cheesecake, sweet potato souffle, cranberry sauce, and deviled eggs done. My mom is gonna make the turkey, ham and stuffing. I still have mac n cheese and mashed potatoes n turkey gravy to do.
ReplyDeleteWhat am I thankful for this Thanksgiving? My best friend since 4th grade and I had a falling out a few yrs ago. She had a drug problem and I am not the most patient, soft person. We are in our mid 30's now. Her mother died a few months back and we reconnected through that. Well, she is coming over for Thanksgiving with her 2 yr old daughter who I have not had a chance to get to know. I'm EXCITED!
Awesome, @Lite! It's great to reconnect and mend old fences. Sounds like today is shaping up well for you!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of sweet potato souffle, it sounds delicious! Is there any way you would be so kind as to share the recipe? I'd be much obliged.
Awesome! @lite
ReplyDeleteWe reserved our collards from a restaraunt instead,so iI'm impressed! My teenager us making the sweet potato souffle.
Happy Thanksgiving!
You guys are making me hungry all ready! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
ReplyDeleteAlso.... You say it's your birthday, well it's my birthday too! Happy Birthday to all my fellow Sagittarians! Let's get this party started right!!! Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Mads Mikkelsen, and Rodney Dangerfield to name a few. Happy Birthday to US!
*shameful birthday plugging over*
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIA!
ReplyDeleteYou're such a positive force and you add so much to this little community! I hope you have the best kind of day!!
Thank Dagny! That is so sweet! You too :)
DeleteI want to wish everyone a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving. May you cherish your blessings and find strength to overcome your challenges.
ReplyDelete@Dia
ReplyDeleteI thought you guys were still Scorps.
We are cusp babies - always a bit of both signs. You have to have your chart done to know for sure. I am a party girl adventurer Sag, with the mystical insides of a Scorpio.
DeleteHappy Birthday Dia.
ReplyDeleteMayim has long surpassed the Blossom role...to me she will forever be Amy Farrah Fowler.
Happy Thanksgiving, my cdan friends! May our turkeys be plumper than LiLo and our smiles be more plentiful than Victoria Beckham's!
ReplyDeleteHope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Dia!
I don't know if they decided to separate now or a few months back and just announced it now. 3 couples announced their split yesterday. Nick and Jessica pulled the same thing. Announce it around Thanksgiving, people are too busy to pay a ton of attention to it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving everybody!
Whoa!
ReplyDeleteHappy Turkey Day!
Happy Birthday, Dia!
Happy Birthday, Dia!!!
ReplyDeleteLol @ FSP "WHOA!"
This seems to be the PR splitting time. I wonder if the stress of being an actress again affected her family - not being home, hubby jealous, etc? Sad though, esp for her boys.
ReplyDeleteRemember Tums and Pepto are your friends today! And no putting laxatives in Mean Aunt Judy's coffee. Be nice!
Thanks for all the bday wishes - Audrey, GreenMountain, the ever changing FSP! I love you CDaNers!!!
I just got the "WHOA!"
ReplyDeleteHahaha!!!
I am so jealous of you all! Why why why don't we have Thanksgiving in Australia?! :(
ReplyDelete@liteNOTSObrite - That is such a lovely story. Thanks for sharing. My heart feels warm :)
@dia papaya - Happy Happy Birthday!!! I haven't been part of the CDaN community for long but I have always thoroughly enjoyed your comments so thank you. I hope you have an awesome day!
You know I could never reconcile a neuro scientist wanting to be an actress again. To do all that work and then go back into acting, is very strange to me.
ReplyDeleteFeel bad for maiyum. No one gets married and plans on divorce. Happy turkey day to all!!
ReplyDeleteAnd im sure she wirks for the moola!!!!!
DeleteHappy Name Day Dia!!!
ReplyDelete`1-is this the answer to the BI about the woman who wrote a book about family, and her own was breaking up?
ReplyDelete2-paul mccartney and his first wife lived in a 2 bed 1 bathroom house for YEARS just cause they liked it. everyone likes different things.
3-yesterday was the 3rd anniversary of me leaving my ex! woot-woot to 3 years of freedom!
4-happy thanksgiving to each of you. hope the comming year is fabulous.
Happy Birthday, Dia! :)
ReplyDeleteI am currently finishing up this beautiful Strawberry Jalapeno Turkey in the oven. What a beautiful bird!
Attachment parenting is a lifestyle that BOTH parents choose. She couldn't have forced him into it. I hate it when couples split that have children. :/
PR divorce/split announcement time? Should we expect more around Christmas? Sad for them, but a lot can change in 9 years (kids, career, personalities, etc). They probably weren't any where close to the same people they were when they married. I know attachment parenting works for some and not others, and you can do it to varying degrees. My 3 yr old was in our room until he was almost a year, hoping my 2 week old is in her own room well before that, but I know people who have many different sleeping arrangements that work for them. One parent in guest room while the other is in bed with the kids, one parent in each kid's room, parents together, kids together, the whole family in a mattress on the floor, etc. Whatever works. Sleeping arrangements alone shouldn't be the cause of a divorce, though I suppose they could become the straw that broke the camels back.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving CDANers, thank you for providing me with countless hours of entertainment reading posts and comments :)
Thank you Amber, Carebear, misspeg, and Robot!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you on Thanksgiving :) I'm so grateful we have a place to laugh, poke fun, snark, and make friends we would never normally meet. Blessings and Gratitude!!!
@me: high five! Congrats on 3 yrs of freedom!!!
@Henriette -- I saw her speak at an event (met her, too, and she is really awesome in person) and I believe both of them were in academia, and it was proving to be too much. They knew she could make more money acting, so she went back to work in Hollywood and he stayed home with the kids.
ReplyDeleteDia dia! Happy happy birthday!!! And happy thanksgiving!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to all. Mispeg you are more than welcome to join us for the day!
ReplyDeleteAnd happy b'day Dia. It is my friend Tina's b'day as welln then mama's tomorrow. Loads of Sag's in my life as well.

ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to my American CDaners.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Dia!
At least there is no cheating involved (that we know of)so hopefully they can be as amicable as possible about it for the kids.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Dia! If CDaN was a game of kickball and I was choosing teams, I'd pick you first.
ReplyDeleteHope all who are celebrating Thanksgiving are enjoying the day. I'm about to go have my dinner now. No turkey for us--Dad decided to do ribs. We also have collard greens, dressing, and potato salad. Pumpkin pie for dessert. None of it really goes together, but the parental units and I aren't formal. So it's all good.
Good eating, everyone!
It's my youngest son's birthday, too. He's 18. He got Halo 4 for the x-box, which is kinda wrong when you think about it, since it's t-giving and all.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Dia, and Happy Thanksgiving to all. /raises glass of wine

Happy Thanksgiving to all my US fellow posters, have a safe and stress-free one!
Happy birthday, Dia! Your posts are always so refreshing to read!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm also saddened by the news about Mayim. She's so unusual in the acting world--seems so real and brilliant as well as talented. I hope for brighter days for all of the family.
