Blind Item #1 - Easy Easy
I love this blind item. It seems that this A list reality star had to go scrambling to find a place that wanted her to host a New Years Eve gig. Previously the star had asked for and received $600K for hosting. This year she managed just a fraction of the amount and had to settle for a way less prestigious place to host. Tick tick tick on the 15 minutes.

ReplyDeleteLets put this in perspective. At 600k, a club would have to have 2000 people spending $300 in entry and drinks just to pay the guest fee. That is not including other costs. If there is a 60% markup on drinks, it's closer to 3500 people.

True..but it also generates revenue all year because people from (insert small town) flock there because it's where so-and-so went! In her case it may not be worth it!
DeleteKK for sure, but is 1OAK REALLY so much less "prestigious" than Tao? Maybe enty has a different definition of that word than I do.

ReplyDelete@Seachica, these clubs can get quiet expensive! We once went to club in Manhattan that had a $20,000 of cristal (which 1 person could finish on their own and is actually sparkling wine lol) I nearly had a heart attack

ReplyDeleteLong time lurker, first time poster. Just back from Bangkok and there was a BIG article in the paper that Paris is hosting a beach party in Phuket on NYE. There were still a lot of problems to be ironed out with authorities, but it was planned to go ahead and she had flown to Phuket for the day to promote it.

ReplyDeleteI don't get this hosting thing at all. I used to go to clubs all the time in my misspent youth, and still do a couple times a year.

If anything,vapid reality show trash is what drives me away.
I definitely think it's KockROACH. Most of the press she gets comes straight from Pimp Momma's mouth. In other words - LIES!
ReplyDeleteI think that the big payday party hosting thing is mostly made-up by the celebutards and they leak the numbers to the press themselves.
ReplyDeleteThe clubs don't care what number the celebutards throw around in the press because it makes the club look exclusive and they know they paid a fraction of that.
Or they have a fee that is performance-based. She could potentially make $300K if x number of people attend. If not, she gets $25K and a suite.
Even top DJs (equally as useless) would have trouble "earning" that for a single show and they could actually claim to have a loyal following.
Either kim or paris. Paris is falling hard and i hope kimmy is next! I think this one is paris but hopefully soon kardashian will follow.

ReplyDeleteIn September, Kim K. was the "star" of a party in Charlotte, NC. Only about 50 people turned up instead of the hundreds they'd hoped for. No wonder people don't want to pay her big $$ to host parties. Couldn't happen to a more deserving individual.

ReplyDeleteOne nightclub I used to service in Brooklyn had an $1100 cover for NYE, and they were booked up by the End of March. That was 15 years ago. I have no clue, but I could totally see these joints w/ a $2500-5k cover, for NYE, considering food, a couple complimentary bottles at your table, etc.
ReplyDeletePlus it is just a write off and a chance for the owner to get some high dollar hooker snatch. That kinda money, she better have a current STD test to show so he can bareback her.
