Ariel Winter's Mom Filed Police Report After Finding Ariel In Bed With Her 18 Year Old Boyfriend

According to numerous sources, Ariel Winter's mother filed a police report alleging that she found 14 year old Ariel in bed with her 18 year old boyfriend which would be a crime. The police report was filed on October 6, which is three days after Ariel's mom lost custody. However, the mom found the couple in bed on  September 24. See if you think this might be what happened.

Mom catches couple in bed and freaks out. Daughter is just 14 and boyfriend is 18 and tells them it is against the law and the 18 year old should date someone who is closer to his age. The mom and daughter get into a huge blowout fight. Ariel goes to her sister's house and tells sister what happened. Ariel wants to be with boyfriend. Sister files paperwork to become guardian. Mom loses first round in court. Mom files police report which she should have done in the first place, but didn't. This is where it gets tricky. Did she not file the police report because she does not want to lose her meal ticket? Did she not file because she had not decided if it was wrong? So many interesting options. I do know that Ariel's boyfriend has a good chance of going to jail. 18 with a 15 year old is a misdemeanor. 18 with a 14 year old is a felony. There is no defense and are no exceptions.

  1. Who knows whether or not it's true, but the mother loses credibility when she files after she loses custody.

The fact that the older daughter was taken away and put into foster care 20 years ago, doesn't bode well for the mother either.

I think this becomes a case of he said/she said, and won't be easy to prove.

  2. Who knows? But losing your daughter after you do file must be incredibly painful. I would be afraid of that kind of pain.

  3. sooooo, was his birthday today? because yesterday he was 17. either way, he's a lil old for her. I guess. lots of freshman girls dated junior boys when I was in high school. same age gap. oh well, whatevs. her mom is prob a huge cunt either way.....

  4. The boyfriend is Cameron Palatas. He'll be 19 in three months. They tweet each other all the time and there's lots of pics of them together.

  5. I have 2 teenage daughters (17 and 16) and our house rule has always been that you can date one over/under your grade (i.e. my 16 year old is a junior, so she can date seniors, juniors, or sophomores.) Unlike Ariel's mother, I would have filed the police report the same day I found my 14 year old in bed with ANY boy. I guess that makes me a "huge cunt" in some's views, huh?

  6. Yeah, 18-year old with a 14-year old is just gross if it happened. But the fact that the older sister was placed in foster care all those years ago tells you that SOMETHING is going wrong in that family.

  7. .... I don't know who this girl is. Hint?

  8. ButterKwup, she's on "Modern Family".

  9. Nah, Mary, I think that makes you a good parent. The fact that Ariel's mother did it so long after the fact is why there are questions. She should have gotten a handle on this relationship long ago, especially if it's so public. She had to know it was going on.

  10. You put your kids in the Hollywood situation though, it's bound to happen. They grow up faster, they have to. They don't go to school, they work like adults. I'm NOT saying it's ok Ariel is sleeping with her boyfriend, but come on, look at that industry and teens in general. I guess it's like, they expect her to be the adult and the primary breadwinner, but on the other hand, still treat her like a baby. IDK, do you guys get what I'm trying to say? It's too early!

  11. And I have a 16 year old daughter btw.

  12. I was having sex at 14, whatever.

On Gawker someone said they had worked with these two and the mom is a total superbitch - said the mom would go off on tirades while poor Ariel would stand to the side embarassed.

If her sister was placed in foster care I believe this is a shitty mom.

  13. Just because the mother said she found her daughter in bed doesn't make it so.

I'm not saying it didn't happen, but it could be a case of her grasping at straws, saying what she needs to, to regain custoday, and therefore, control.

Has Nancy Grace started writing this column? Everyone else (except Radar) has a different take on this story. Enty (or whoever is writing this) keeps pulling out the son as proof this girl is lying. So, one male child trumps two females?

Judging from 'Enty's' other rants, he should be all over this mother who seems to have made her money from having children and putting them to work as actors.

Blind Items are supposed to be fairly harmless speculation, with the possible bonus of some of it being true. To use a term that comes up in comments frequently, Enty is slut-shaming this child and there is nothing righteous or moral about it. Who are you really targeting?

Shame on you and her mother for making her collateral damage in a P.R. war. Because if she is having sex with this guy, this kind of crap is really going to help her.

  15. Yeah, I wasn't having sex at 14, but I did have some friends who were and mostly, it was girls having sex with much older boys. It seemed fine with me when I was watching it happen at age 14, but if it were my kid, I'd be flipping a shit.

  16. What if the mother didn't go to police because she wanted to give Ariel a chance to "come to her senses", start acting right, and get rid of the boyfriend? And maybe because she was still acting out and didn't give up the boyfriend, the mom decided to turn him in? Not taking any side - just trying to present a different perspective.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Amber, that's what I was thinking. I don't necessarily agree with it but maybe the mom was giving her a chance to save her boyfriend from having a felony on his record.

However, if the mom is making this stuff up because she wants better control over her daughter and her daughter's career, then I'm just sick to my stomach. I couldn't imagine having one of my kids be my "meal ticket."

  18. I wasnt having sex at 14 but my boyfriend was 18. We r still good friends to this day. Im not saying its ok but it does happen everyday!

  19. I was having sex at 15 with an older boy and I turned out just fine. It depends on the person.

  20. The police aren't buying the mother's claims. She filed the report AFTER her daughter filed for a restraining order (and it was granted) and filed papers for emancipation.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Not only could the mom been giving her daughter a chance to come to her senses, but filing that police report immediately would have guaranteed a decline in an already rocky relationship. She may have been just trying to not lose her daughter...and then been gobsmacked when the emancipation papers were filed and realized she made a mistake.

I remember how tumultuous my teenage years were. I didn't have an 18 year old boyfriend when I was 14, but if I had and my mom filed a police report against him I would probably have left home and never talked to her again.

    ReplyDelete
  22. If all she cared about was her meal ticket, she'd let the daughter screw whoever she wants.

This almost sounds like an incredibly rare case of a Hollywood mom who actually wants to do what's best for her celebrity child.

    ReplyDelete
  23. That Ariel filed for emancipation is what makes me doubt her story. Why not have the much older sister become her legal guardian? Seems like she wants to be a grown up and is pissed at her mom.

If I'd found my 14 year old in bed with an 18 year old, I would have to think a bit before filing charges against him. This could label him a child predator for the rest of his life.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I can't believe you all are buying this. really? I mean really?

  25. I don't know about this case but when I was 14 we were in grade 8 a couple of my friends had boyfriends that were 20 and they were having sex(or at least they said they were; I have no way of knowing for sure, right?) and there was a pregnant girl in my school so I know it happens. As for me, I was a virgin until I got married at 21 and with our kids we have a rule they're not even allowed to date until they've graduated highschool; they have to concentrate on their studies and have plenty of time for dating later.

  26. I think the mom was trying to be nice, b/c it IS stat rape. But when the little brat sued her mom, and the mom lost, the mom was either probably told by her lawyer to fess up and file, OR she filed b/c she wants ppl and the court to understand what's really going on. ANd that is, there is a 14 yr old brat who wants to be an adult, and is dating an adult, and it's just not ok. End of discussion.

  27. An 18 year old with a 14 year old is pervy, but I wouldn't go out and totally fuck up this kids life by filing statutory rape charges against him. THAT is a bitch move. Find another way to punish the kid but think twice before you have him arrested on that charge.

  28. I feel so bad for the girl. To be 14 and have your family drama in the tabloids is horrible. Then to be 14 and have everyone speculating about your sex life (or lack thereof) must be HUMILIATING. Regardless of who's lying Ariel is a child and should not be scrutinized the way she is.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I agree with LottaColada, plus - isn't there a chance that her mum didn't file charges because she wanted to protect her little girl?

Does every teen star's mother HAVE to be a blood-sucking, meal-ticketing nightmare? Speaking as a mother myself, the Dina Lohans of this world are a rare, rare aberration - far more likely this child's mother wanted to protect her from finger pointing and press attention directed towards a CHILD's ill-advised first sexual 'fumblings' being dragged out for salacious public consumption in the law courts, preferring to deal with it sensitively within their family.

Only when her daughter decided to be a little madam - as they are liable to be at that age - and it looked like she was losing her baby, did she feel she had no choice but to act.

That's far more likely than her "wanting to lose her meal ticket", in my honest opinion.

I think we should be VERY careful about pointing accusing fingers at mothers without extremely firm evidence. The vast majority of mums are heroes, doing a very difficult job to the very best of their capabilities - just because one of your children is famous doesn't alter your fundamental mothering instincts.

  30. sure, legally it is wrong. and likely it's not a good idea in general for a 14 year old to be having sex, but i can't help but feel bad for the guy. going to jail at 18 for sleeping with your consenting girlfriend? that bothers me. this is going to ruin the guys life, and especially in this case, ariel is probably mature far beyond her years.

  32. 14 is way to young unless you were once married to Warren Jeffs. (still too young and gross)

I can't believe how many don't think it's a big deal. It may not be the "norm" but all my friends who lost their virginity that young turned out to have severely fucked up issues with men. Even I knew at 15 that they were making shitty life decisions.

  33. My mom totally would have filed a police report if she found out my 14 yr old self was having sex with my 18 year old boyfriend. Even though she was 39 having sex with a 17 year old, doing Xanax and passing out ass-up in the tub, and calling me a slut because I *dared* to dip in her dating pool (her words, not mine). It had nothing to do with being a good parent; it was a control issue. Hence why I went to court and a judge gave custody to my 20 year old brother instead. I was in the exact same situation, just not in good old Hollywood. I can believe the mother is grasping at straws just for appearance sakes. Or jealousy.

  34. this story is tough because it is completely she-said she-said. i have a feeling that wrongs were made on both parts of the mother and Ariel and they are probably blowing things way out of proportion in an attempt to get back at each other. i don't think i believe either story 100%...the truth is somewhere in the middle. do i think it's right for a 18 yr old to date a 14 yr old? no. do i think the mother handled the situation in the proper manner? probably not. whether or not abuse was taking place in the home is something only they know. just my 2 cents...

  35. I'll be a whole lot more concerned about my 14-year-old daughter if she starts having sex at that age (not even gonna think about it happening younger!) than the guy she's doing it with. If he's 30, then I've got a problem with him. If he's 18, not so much. She'll be my focus, because statutory rape or not she will have still been the one to make that choice.

    ReplyDelete
  36. whether the mother is lying or not, an 18 year old is not going out with a 14 year old and not having sex, simple as. especially an attractive young girl, that's famous and has prob seen a lot more sexual behavior than most 14 year olds. plus where i'm from nearly every 14 year old is having sex, sad...

Btw, I don't care one way or the other if she is sleeping with him, I just think she needs to rethink the way she is doing things just to be with some boy who isn't in love with her

  38. Filing the police report would have been a last resort for me too. For the daughter it creates an irrefutable public record that will last forever. For the boy its likely an out of proportion punishment for a relationship that while ill-advised is also consensual. And its a wedge between mother and daughter possibly forever. If I thought I had any chance of resolving it without the police, I'd take that chance first.

So the delay itself is not that big a credibility problem for me.

  39. I hope Ariel's older sister will be a true guardian. Ariel's probably thinking that she's now got a ticket to act like a 21 year old. Now that the spotlight is on Shanelle Workman (the sister) I wonder what happens if and when Shanelle tells her that her boyfriend can't sleep over or that she can't stay out all night. Uh oh... Emancipation part two.

  40. I think the Mom did the right thing. Who knows why she waited, maybe she wanted to sleep on it, pray over it, think about it, but it is just WRONG for a 14 year old to be having sex with an 18 year old!!!
Let me tell you all a little story that goes back to the 1950's where my husband's Aunt was 14 and dating a young smooth talking sailor who was 20. Her parents threatened to go to his higher ups, the police, anything. She threatened them with never talking to them again if they didn't let her get married to him because "he loved her."
They hated it but they gave their consent.
That couple had 5 kids, 1 boy, 4 girls. When each of the girls were around the age of 14, guess what happened? That "young, smooth talking sailor" still liked them young- he molested each of those girls.
They are all adults now. They have a totally f'ed up adult lives now. That devil of a man is now dead but they have a horrible relationship with their Mom since she had blamed them for turning him into the police and didn't believe their story.
I will say it again, a 14 year old has no business with a 20 year old. It is just sick.

  45. ITA with the people saying a mother finding her 14-y-o daughter in bed with anyone is likely to be mad as hell (at both parties). My first instinct would be to protect my daughter's privacy and yes, I think if she thought her daughter was in love with the guy, to protect him from a sex offender tag he will carry for ever.

I don't care what the laws say: an 18-y-o with a 14-y-o is not gross. It really depends on where they are in HS and their relative maturity. A 22-y-o w/a 14-y-o is gross.

I graduated high school at 16 (I had a pushy mom who had me skip a couple of grades). When I was 14, I was what you would call a sophomore here. Like most girls, I dated a couple of years up, meaning, dun dun dun dun dun, 18-y-os. I didn't have sex with them at 14, but there was nothing pedo about their interest in me. They figured I was two years younger.

Sorry if TMI, but I can understand a mother waiting to file a police report until she hears she's about to lose her second daughter.

I have no idea who these people are and their individual circumstances, but that's my 2 cents.

  48. Ps I agree with the slut shaming this girl is 14 and the mother talked about her sexual experiences to the press. I don't care what my kid accuses me of I'm not tellig the press about her sex life so the public can debate about it under any circumstances. And if I'm concerned about the stat rape I report it the day it happens to start a paper trail no question about it.

  49. Supposing the teens did get caught in the act.

Maybe the mom realized they're teenagers, with hormones, and it wasn't forced, thought a good yelling at and forbidding the boy to ever see the under-aged girl, would be enough.

Probably because she remembered she was a teen once, and also realized that if she would report the boy he would be a registered sex offender, FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE. There goes his future, because of teenage crush, and a hormonal misstep.

So, yeah, that would be kinda kunty
