X Factor To Have Big Delay On Live Shows
The producers won't admit it but they are scared of Britney Spears going live on X Factor. While the taped shows have been edited to make everything look flawless, three hours a week of live television for Britney might prove to be too much and to give themselves enough time if she gets up and walks out or does something else that is strange, they are going to have a delay built in that is longer than the standard 7 seconds. It will probably be anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes. I think that is a safe bet and I also think they may end up using it more than they think, not only with Britney, but it would also give them time in case Khloe Kardashian really screws up big too. I wish they were going to have no delay and just let it all go out as it happens because that is one of the reasons I would watch the live version. Why do I want the sanitized, heavily edited version I have been getting so far?
I'd kill to be an audience member on this show during these live shows. This must be the hottest ticket in town. lol
ReplyDeleteYou said it, Montana!
ReplyDeleteIt would definitely improve viewership if it were truly live! Why don't they see that?
ReplyDeleteA lot of live reality competition shows have moved to a 90-120 second delay. It's fairly standard now. After the Superbowl fiasco mPST networks are terrified of being fined.
ReplyDeleteA lot of shows have the delay, and that's fine. I don't really need to see Britney have a melt down "live" on nationwide TV.
ReplyDeleteThis is a huge, probably fearful thing for her and I don't see the harm in building in a little safety zone for her should things get too stressful.
Let the poor woman ease back into things. I'm still amazed she's even doing this show. From what I've seen, edited or not, she's done a pretty good job. The whole team thing, being with one coach at their (ahem) home just doesn't work for me and I haven't watched all that much.
ReplyDeleteIf it's about 7 minutes of delay then it's not really live now is it.
ReplyDeleteOne thing to note in all of this is: How much Britney matters. Commercially, as a pop culture icon, as a pop star, as a rallying point, as something to hate, as someone to love, she matters a great deal. I remember falling in love with her in the 90s when I realized that she always has multiple weird levels going on: sweet songs with a diseased, depraved undercurrent, or lurid sexualized songs with innocent sweet themes and tones. May the angels flutter around her and keep her safe, I murmur to myself.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm a grumpy person generally! Sheez, Britney. I can even love you in that pink dress.
its hard not to feel for britney.
ReplyDeletethe show as a whole is just one big snoozefest. I'm so over singing competition shows. enough already.
almost no one has a real career out of it. and those who did are the early ones, I doubt that anyone big is going to come out of any of the shows in the us now. its just too saturated w/singing show.
does anyone remember the person who won x factor last year and got $5 million and a recording contract? yeah, I didn't think so.
I'm also over simon and his act.
Thank you Grand Oda! You summed up my feelings about Britney better than I ever could have. Also not a fan, mainly because of my age, but I always felt sorry for her, and the Demi/Lyndsay/Macaulay's of the entertainment world. It's hard enough to make it in this world as is, but to also care for your family and hanger-ons must be enormous. No love lost for Simon C. who really is just a pimp in sheep's clothing.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the comments yet but I seriously doubt that the extra time in delay is specifically for Brit's benefit, I am pretty sure she knows they are going to be live and will conduct herself accordingly, she is not an out of control teen anymore! She is an adult with children jeez!!! It could also have a lot to do with the inexperience of the contestants......
ReplyDeleteMy god Brit Brit's boobs look HUGE here.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty strange when the show is supposed to be all about finding new talent and making them a star, but all we ever hear is about the famous judges. If I wanted a career in music, I'd steer clear of all these shows.
ReplyDeleteI agree Enty. I was super excited when this was announced but I was done after the auditions. Like you said, sanitized a.k.a. boring.
ReplyDeleteIf Britney is truly that fragile, then her people really had no business pimping her out to that show.
ReplyDeleteOh :( that's disappointing, I was looking forward to the live shows.
