Two Weddings One Fight

Sure, it is not as catchy of a title as two girls, one cup, but for guests in a Philadelphia hotel, waking up in the middle of the night Saturday to an all out brawl between the guests of two separate weddings was enough to get them scrambling for their cameras while police descended on the hotel and made arrests and one man was so overcome during the fighting that he had a heart attack and later died at the hospital.

  4. The headline in the Philadelphia Daily News was:

    Two Weddings & A Funeral.

This is when I explain to people that I live here, but I'm not from here.

    1. Wow @kelly that's insensitivity if I ever heard it. It's like the editors are like 'Omg really? Someone really DIED?? Cool! Now I can use that awesome headline I've wanted to use ever since I saw the movie and fell in love with Hugh Grant. Only 2 fights? Oh well I guess it'll work anyways since someone was nice enough to die so I could use my awesome headline!'

    2. Agreed Kelly. I'm from South Jersey. This was all over the news this morning. Another example of Philly cops behaving badly.

  6. It's Philly, whaddayawant?

We're talking about a town where the baseball fans throw D-Cell batteries at the opposing team's outfielders.

    Stay Classy Philly

  9. This is really a sad situation, but I can't help but laugh at all these comments! The best one, 'Stay classy Philly', and since I'm from Detroit, I can totally relate.

  10. I feel bad for the brides, it is their day. I read the man that died was the Uncle of one of the brides. That is no memory to have on your day.

People are such assholes, and have to make everything about them.

  11. God can we get off the booing Santa Claus thing? It happened in 1968. At least bring up the Philly fan that purposely vomitted on an 11-year old, that was within the last few years.

  12. The Daily News is not known for being PC, that's for sure.

Between this and the sports fan behavior previously noted, Philly's looking a little rough around the edges.

But when you live here, it doesn't feel like that, y'know?

  14. LOL Kelly. I'm from the Philly area too. I swear I saw the same guys in the Citizens Bank parking lot after a Phillies game trash talking and fighting.

    Silver Onyx, too funny.

  18. With Aunt Liddy on this one... A few of those guys were swinging their nightsticks like the bases were loaded and the game depended on a home run.

  19. The most amazing part of the story is that it didn't happen in Florida.

  20. 75 to 150 drunk ass people all fighting - if I was a cop walking into that I would be swinging a club too. This wasn't a policeman issue - it was idiotic drunk ass wedding guests in freaking society hill issue. Oh and FYI the guy that was being hit with the club had an armed officer in a headlock and was getting ready to go for his gun...I would have been clubbing him too. Sorry - i too am from the Philly area and laugh along with the rest at the santa claus cracks (the guy playing santa was a drunk asshole btw) and the philly fans suck comments (tho i don't agree) but when it comes to the cops i can't keep quiet - they are losing men and women who serve and protect at an alarming rate in philly and the surrounding areas and tho recently there was a bad issue with one decorated cop - the majority of these officers risk their lives on a daily basis 12 hours at a time. What should they do when they walk into a drunken brawl with that many people?? Ask them nicely to let go of the cop in the headlock and quietly tell them to stop punching the bride or her husband? sorry - off my soapbox - touchy subject -Plymouth Twnship K-9 Officer Brad Fox, who was recently shot and killed after a stupid traffic stop, was a friend.
