Speaking of Halloween and scary things, the Olsens went out last night. They were actually honored for their fashion line The Row. They deserve it. They are very good at what they do.

I was talking to someone earlier this week--someone who has worked in the fashion industry for decades--who told me an interesting story about Ashley Olsen.
ReplyDeleteThis person and I were talking about how we each learned our jobs and how helpful it was to intern. Then she told me that Ashley Olsen had been her intern. She said that Ashley wanted to learn the fashion business and design business from the ground up. My colleague said that Ashley had a great work ethic and zero attitude--and she was treated no differently than any other intern (and didn't expect to be).
I laughed when she said this, though: "We were setting up for a runway show and Ashley was crawling around on the floor taping marks for the models and measuring out the steps, and I had a surreal moment where I realized, 'My god, there's a teeny-tiny billionaire crawling around on my floor...'"
Love the story! I've always loved those girls BC we share a birthday (however I a one year older). Yay for Gemini's!
Delete@May Flower - that's a GREAT story! They've given some great interviews, and Ashley has always come off as very dedicated to the business (and design) aspect of their companies. From what I gather, MK is a bit more free-spirited and her strengths come in design contributions.

She looks as though she has thunder thighs and hips and it's always a bad idea to wear black leggings with bare white feet below.
She's tall and skinny. Why go for the mechanic/lumberjack look?

ReplyDeleteDia Papaya - amen! We have Burgerville and it's pretty good, but love me some In 'n Out. The Beavers played against Utah last Saturday and it's a tradition that the whole team goes out for In 'n Out to celebrate after the game. Jealous, I only get it once a year visiting the in-laws!

How do these guys go from absolutely haggard to radiant in just a few days? I saw pictures of Gerald Butler yesterday and it was not a pretty sight. Yet here he is, looking good. What is it, makeup? spray tan? skin treatments? All of the above?

ReplyDeleteI love the Olsens too! I'm DJ Tanners age so too old for the Olsen videos when I grew up. I made fun of them. Now I loooove their fashion designs! They are insanely good! I love the story about Ashley crawling on the floor. Every self made business owner I know has worked from the ground up.

ReplyDeleteThe Olsens are huge in fashion! Lots of celebs wear The Row and Elizabeth and James. Heidi Klum comes immediately to mind. I went on their website once and they carry nothing bigger than size 4 clothes starting at ridiculous amount$$. I don't get them either, but I admire their success!

Haha, I love that tie in Enty used for the Olson Twins. I grew up with them and I still can't tell them apart. Also, does that Rupert guy own another shirt. Everytime he is photographed it seems he has on the same outfit.
