Oprah Gives Chris Brown & Rihanna Her Blessing

God has spoken. She has come down from the mountain of Harpo and said that she has no problems with Rihanna and Chris Brown dating. She has given her blessing to the union of the two people, and it doesn't bother her that Chris Brown nearly killed Rihanna with his fists. Oprah says it is fine. If Oprah says it is fine then what were the years and years of her shows about where she cried out against abusive people and told women to leave the men who beat them and never look back. To me, it shows that Oprah doesn't care about any of that and just likes having famous people being her friends more than anything. She does not want Rihanna or Chris to be mad at her so gives her blessing. I find it sickening that she would so and I think she needs to come out and say she is horrified. She can't come out and say it is right for some people and not others. No wishy washy.

  4. Here is the full quote:

"I think that if she is prepared to deal with that and is prepared to help him help himself then so be it," the talk show host said. "I have no judgment about it. That's why I can sit there and have such a great time with her because I do all my interviews with no judgment whatsoever. If that's how you choose to lead your life, that's really okay."

    1. Exactly..she didnt bless it..she said she has no judgement...Rihanna has made it clear that she is going to do this..Rihanna is young and stubborn...plus, also hey maybe it will work out for them....Rihanna has worked thru a lot of stuff with her father etc ..all this was discussed on the show.....so I am sure Oprah is not going to say anything..then if and when it doesn't work out Rihanna can still come to Oprah for guidance.....Oprah and Rihanna have bonded......we could see that on the show............so this is what a cool aunt or a perceptive mom would do...you can't stop young people from making mistakes.....so just prepare to be there to help them pick up the pieces when they fall.......#teamsisterhoood

  5. have not been a fan for a long time. BUT, if rihanna ever needs help, oprah has left the dor open for her to ask for it. and that is a kindness.

  7. I got 99 problems and Chris/Rhi relationship issues is not one of them!

  8. Oh to hell with this whole thing. Most people have a toxic relationship of one kind or another in their lives. This is Rihanna's. If anything, I applaud her for *not* doing the easy thing and dumping his ass. She's a hell of a lot more honest than most people. She can't make the break. I'm not going to look down my nose at her for that.

  9. Just like alcoholics and addicts, you can't help someone who doesn't want help. If she chooses to welcome Chris into her life and is prepared to deal with his problems and behavior, then it should be of no concern to anyone but her. I think thats what Oprah was saying.

My sister is married to an alcoholic who is verbally abusive but she puts up with it because she loves him. I don't like it but its her life.

  10. Enty your full of shit, and so are all who didnt read the full content! and just jumping on the band wagonOprah says she will not be judgemental on it, she sure as hell didnt give it her blessing, and how many of you all do shit you know you shouldnt but you wanted to? Get off the high horse, I think Oprah knows this trick well enough to know that it doesnt matter what you say to her she will date who she wants to! Jay z couldnt tell her what to do so why you all believe she will listen to QUEEN oprah?

  11. I wonder what the hell oprah did to enty why he always on her ass

  12. The title of this story is slightly misleading. I read the full quote yesterday on another site and Oprah never actually gave her blessing.

  13. I have never been an Oprah fan so I'm always stunned by how much weight her opinions have for some people.

That said I've always felt that the Chris Brown/Rihanna relationship is no different from some of the others regularly called out for being bought and paid for to give one or both parties cover.

I think this is giving both parties cover.

  14. Oprah isn't giving her blessing. She's understands like we all should is that these are two adults. Two adults who are going to do whatever the they hell they want to do regardless of what other people think and Oprah understands that.I don't know if people have watched Oprah's shows over the years, but when it has come to domestic violence she has always said "if he hits you once, he will hit you again." In all the shows she's done about domestic violence she has said that over and over. That statement does not sound like a blessing, it sounds like she's throwing her hands up like "I give up'.

  15. Ugh, that's pretty fucked up. I remember when she used to talk to us regular folk. If this was not a celeb she would be all over their ass. But at least i used to like her back then because she talked about real issues. Watching her kiss a celebrities ass is just...bye OWN.

  16. I mostly like this site but I usually just lurk.I have decided to finally comment because I am trulty perplexed by your obsession with harping on Chris Brown. Whether you believe that all parties in this matter are foolish or not, I believe that it's a little obsessive of you to continually badger this KID for 4 yrs now. You continually refer to this KID like he is the second coming of Satan. What are you trying to do? Did he steal your lunch or something. Why don't you lay off. It's stale, now. Other than that, carry on.

    1. I think the tattoo on his neck should mean something to you. I hope you meant that facetiously because he is not a kid, and when you make rationalizations for 'kids' you are actually dismissing sociopathy. Wake up! He has a battered woman on his neck. Geez!

  17. While I do nto agree w/DV...

Chris Brown did not "nearly KILL"

she was not admitted to the hospital or in a coma.

geeze, this has gotten this this huh??

If she wants to give him a second chance, its her life, maybe she beleives in 2nd chances--all we can do is hope that they BOTH keep their hands to their selves and get therapy together.

I honestly do not see it lasting.

folks act like he is a 60yr old man w/a grocery list of DV charges against him.

THOSE celebs get a past huh??

  18. She didn't openly endorse their relationship.

But keeping the door open means if it doesn't work out, R can go on Iyanla Fix My Life and that spells ratings for the OWN network

  19. hear hear it took forever!! i too am sick of enty sensationalising a story/ making up facts and then people just jumping on the bandwagon blindly!!

  20. Oprah is a con artist

  21. I think its cool the majority of readers could see the journalism bias and outright "spin" of this story. Half truths and whole lies told. Must have been a "crazydayandnight" for the journalist writing this one......

    ReplyDelete
  22. @T Domestic violence is violence. Don't try to minimize it. If Rihanna wants to move on with or without Chris Brown that's her business, but just because she didn't end in the hospital doesn't negate the fact that he assaulted her. Most battered women don't go to the hospital to a doctor when they've been assaulted anyway. I can't believe you would even use that as an argument. That's how battered women justify the violence. 'Well he didn't hit me that hard or I didn't end up in the hospital.' Are you serious? You can't be serious. The next time I come across a victim of DV I'll tell her that 'it's OK all least he didn't hit you hard enough to put you in the hospital.'

  23. I scooped this one before Enty. I know Oprah, up close & personal, all the way back to her beginnings in Baltimore. Know secrets even Kitty Kelley didn't turn up in her 2006 biography. Oprah will be my next topic. Her interest in Rihanna is to draw viewers. This is her second "OWN" type network & her numbers are terrible.

  24. The only person Oprah cares about is Oprah. She'd sell her soul to Satan if it got her bigger ratings and more interest/money. I despise her.

  25. Car54 is on the right track, gosh interviewing Bobbi Christina so soon after her mother's passing,(professionally known as Whitney Houston) was so sensitive & caring.
Oprah needs trainwrecks to keep the party going. Remember, Michael Jackson's death made him more famous than ever & the money poured in. People don't want watch someone happy, rich & successful talking about how great their life is; they want to see a screwed up mess sobbing about the emptiness inside, how they were molested, all the good stuff that lets the audience know their lives are not as bad as think, also now the celebrity is relatable. She has problems, too, just like me. As always ; M

  27. M, enough with the self promotion. It is tacky, and inappropriate to continually promote your blog on another person's blog.

A few times a year, Enty has a "your turn" where he invites readers to promote whatever they want to promote.

Have you noticed that you are the ONLY poster here promoting themselves?

    Seriously, smarten up.

  29. Just another thought: Oprah has actually spoken out against Chris Brown on several occasions. There was a "beef" between the two a few years back.

  30. @ Mango @ Teresa

Yeah, if you expect Enty to actually read things, or view videos, before posting his strong opinion about it (facts be damned), you're on the wrong site.

  31. Chris Brown is not a KID. If he was 15 or 16 I would say ok yeah he is a kid--but he is over 21 so he is a man--and one with a shitty temper and bad attitude at that. And he hits women. Do you think Rihanna was an exception or that it was just that one time?

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'm not the biggest Big O fan, but she is not condoning the relationship. She is just saying what most people are thinking: "can't fix stupid."

    ReplyDelete
  33. Rihanna and Chris NEVER stopped seeing each other. NEVER! maybe this was oprahs kind/politically correct way of saying she doesn't give a rats ass what dumb ass mistake these young adults CONTINUE to make. everyone one is sick of this story. if the abused has forgiven the abuser and has moved on shouldn't we? josh brolin and his wife are still together. As are many a users in Hollywood. Chris and Rihanna are not an exception. domestic violence is prevalent everywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  34. And let's not continue to ignore Rihanna as an abuser. I've seen her hit people on the head with beer bottles in anger. She's a real gem of a girl. especially when she abuses her assistant Melissa. And I mean physically abuse. she and Chris are one in the same.

    ReplyDelete
  35. They're both stupid bitches.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Since there's not a single person mentioned in this post that I can even stand, it really makes no difference to my opinion of any of them. As far as I'm concerned all 3 of them can fall off the face of the earth and we'd all be better off. And so would music and tv.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Why did Oprah feel the need to give her opinion on Rihanna and Chris' current relationship. Did I miss something or is this the "new" Oprah? In the past she never gave comments about celebs personal lives now she seems to be fishing for ratings any way she can get them.

    So low classy Oprah.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think Oprah and Jay-z are in the.same car on the enabling train.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Sorry, but Oprah is clearly talking out both sides of her mouth here. I've never been a fan and always found her to be a hypocritical fame whore. But the fact is that "If that's how you choose to lead your life, that's really okay", isn't. Like others have said, she just doesn't want anyone famous mad at her. She needs all the rich help she can get at this point. The Oprah zombies aren't lapping it all up anymore. But what if just one of them stays with a man who kills her "becuase Oprah said it was okay if it was my choice"?

  40. Oprah knows what really happened , and knows Rhianna deserves what she allows.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I don't like either one of them,so I could care less what they do. I'm sick of hearing about both of them. She's a slutty pothead and he's a huge douchbag. In fact they are perfect for each other.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I had a very intense dream the other night (i think it was Thursday but definitely before any of this drama started) where Ms Winfrey and I were hanging out one on one. We had a really long conversation about real stuff outside of TV land and I got to see her inner truth. She's alright in my book.

Maybe I envision my higher self as a wise Oprah? It's still all good! Love you Oprah.

  43. @ Dia it must be dream week I have been having crazy dreams all week!!

  44. Oprah profited for years from female victimization. There was nothing empowering to women about her show. My mother used to watch it everyday when I came home from school, and finally when I was in college it finally occurred to me that many of the topics and Oprah's behavior in general and toward her guests was demeaning. She should have said that she doesn't judge Rihanna because abused women do often go back to their abusers multiple times before they finally break free, but, look, it usually doesn't end well, it probably won't end well for Rihanna and it is Rihanna who needs professional psychological help in this situation, not just Chris Brown. She should get serious counseling and should learn to respect herself, since her self-destructive behavior shows a deep level of insecurity and probably self-loathing.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Rihanna is an idiot and I honestly don't care what happens to her. While the rest of us slave away to make ends meet, she's contributing nothing worthwhile.

Can I go on a tangent for a second and say I HATE that Oprah's production company or whatever is called Harpo? There is only one Harpo and his last name was Marx. (I'm pissed about it b/c I named my bunny Harpo and people think it's because of Oprah)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Re thinking this, Oprah herself was in abusive relationship. She knows the woman isnt going to leave until she is done. We all have stuff like this in our lives, people we want to help, but cannot til they are ready. Plus, why is everyone laying this in Op's doorstep? Really, why ask her? Why is Oprah being held responsible for rianna's behaviour? And trust me, I am no Oprah fan, dont care for her, and never watched show, but be fair. It really has nothing to do with her.
