National Enquirer Blind Item

WHICH three-time Emmy winner brags about regifting the free swag she gets during awards season? The millionaire funnygal – who was overheard saying she barely has to Christmas shop – picked up extra freebies with pricey eye creams to gift to her equally rich girlfriends!

  3. I'd be doing that if I were a celeb!

  6. Eh, who cares, I would do the same thing! I mean how much face cream do you need!!!

  7. this is similar to the blind item that said Aniston rented space to store her swag to re-gift. Aniston only has one Emmy or I would have guessed her..

  8. Tina Fey!
Just to guess something different =]
Although she has won way more if you include her cast and the show, but individually she has won three!

  9. Meh. I'd do it too. That stuff is worth a lot of money and if I didn't want it, why not pass it along to someone who does? I guess the inappropriate part is letting people think you paid for it.

  10. Julia Louis-Dreyfus ...wow. Her father was/is a mulit-billionaire. More proof that even the mega wealthy are cheap.

  11. It is pretty damn stupid the amount of free shit famous and/or rich people get all the time.

Happens everywhere. Back in my table-waiting days, the rich fucks got free apps and drinks sent to them by the owner all the time.

And they were always the least appreciative customers, by far.

  14. I'd be happy to take her swag!
My g/f saved up a load of free samples she got from department stores, and brought them to a get together...we had a blast picking through them!

  15. Lol I do it! Granted the swag I get is nothing compared to celebs but I take every free thing from the beauty trade shows I go to bc I'm sure I'll know someone who it'll make happy. I have not given anything wrapped up as an actual present but I should bc I don't feel it should matter what you spend as long as the gift is perfect for the recipient. I think it's cool of te celeb (Kathy griffin?) not to be wasteful

  16. @sifichick Dang, thats harsh :(

I don't think Julia Louis would do this. I'll go with Julie Bowen. Or Bette.

  17. my daughter gave my sister a crystal cake plate for her birthday, four months later my sister gave it back to her for Christmas. It became a family joke, I got the plate for my anniversary, and last week I gave it to my youngest sister for her housewarming..it's still in the original box.

  18. Why not have your assistant list on the swag items on ebay-sell- and donate the money to people who don't have enough money top buy something to eat!! Then get off your fat ass, and take the time to pick out a nice gift to the people you care about!

Plus if you don't need the swag stuff, don't take home!! Like her rich friends can't buy their own face cream??

Kathy Griffin. There was an episode of My life on the D-list how she does this even with her family. She is a multi-millionaire too.

  21. Or, take all those free samples and give them to a women's shelter. My LO's preschool does a Christmas drive for personal care products and baby items each year and I always go grab 3 for 1 items and get out my 'freebie bag' from under my sink.

  22. Love the women's shelter suggestions and the ebay for a charity. More folks should do this -- what a wonderful world it could be.

  23. I'd do the same thing, and hell, if my friend gave me something she TOLD me she got free in a gift bag I'd high five her. who cares?

  24. Good for her! Anything to stay out of a retail store, anything. I would love to see everyone stay home for Black Friday and give workers day off instead of a day of ultra-stress. Let the 1% shop and pay jacked up prices.

  25. Love the women's shelter idea, or one of those groups that help woman get back into the work force. Either way, lots of good places to put swag other than other rich friends hands.

Regarding shopping...if you don't want to go into a store, shop online! why give free stuff to people who get their own free stuff or have money to buy it. If someone gave me one of their freebies, I'd be pissed. I would rather get a cheap thought about gift. It would be different if they said, hey I got this for free, want it.

  26. I would gladly take the quality of swag she gets..

  27. Not Kathy Griffin -- she only has 2 Emmys. Though this does sound like something she'd do, and she'd be up front about it, too!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hmm. Does Ellen DeGeneres have any Emmys? I'll have to check when I get to work.

  29. I like the suggestions here. For the EBay suggestion, if the celeb added an autographed photo with every order that would be a neat thing to see. I agree about not being wasteful too.

If I were loaded and looking to buy something unique for a rich friend, I'd buy them a commission from one of the gazillions of artists I know. I'm a stickler for supporting Indie & Handmade bc not only can you find fabulous, unique items from people passionate about what they do....I also firmly believe that redistributing wealth in this way benefits the economy much more than simply passing it around the upper echelons of society. I'm much more willing to splurge if I know it's going to pay someone's bills rather than whatever the hell most CEOs use it for....

Oh yeah I forgot. Lobbying and vacation homes. Silly me!
