Blind Items Revealed

August 24, 2007

#2 This female, who is a former A list television star and B list film actress had to have her stomach pumped a few months ago because she ate a brownie laced with more than the pot she thought was in it. Turns out some friends of friends brought the special brownies, while she thought she was eating brownies prepared by friends. It happened after all the guests had left, but the hosts were still there. She started freaking out within 10-15 minutes, and then collapsed. A private doctor at the resort was called in and her stomach pumped.

  1. I'll give her former A list television star (which is being generous), but there's no way she was a B list film actress!

I'm a pot advocate but dang! You have to be careful with edibles! Too much can make you feel like you are on mushrooms .. And I hate mushrooms. I've had a few bad edible experiences myself. Didn't know you could pump the stomach though..that's crazy!

  6. Cathy - Lost And Delirious was really good? That's all I've got. Oh - and the Sixth Sense!

That said, always assume the brownies are loaded at a party and ALWAYS ASK YOUR HOST. There are no stupid questions and you won't end up with your stomach pumped like a goof.

  7. pump the stomach? yea they put a tube down your throat ... and extract the contents ... to get it out of your system before it's absorbed into your bloodstream.

  8. Yikes! I wonder if anyone else ate the brownies or was someone trying to poison her.

  9. That sucks. I remember one night my friends bf had some weed. They smoked then offered to our other friend. (I showed up later luckily and didn't smoke any!) then the couple started laughing. He's like HAHA IT'S WEED LACED WITH OPIUM!!! The poor friend was rightfully pissed. U never know if someone's allergic or had a bad experience on a drug. I told the gf I wouldn't hang out with her until she broke up with the loser drug addict. Poor Mischa.

  10. Gypsy: You said it! Still, if it was a weed-laced brownies, those things can be really powerful, and if you're not expecting it the experience would be, too. Ah, youth...!

  11. I don't get it. What else was it laced with?

  12. Oh, and she was a B list movie actress?
When? What movie was she in?

  13. Collapsing makes me think of pharms or PCP. If it was mushrooms, even too much, she would have started laughing by 10-15 minutes. They take too long to kick in to be the culprit of this story.

  14. I once ate 4 pot brownies, big ones, on an empty stomach. It was heavy man. I had some crazy hallucinations and basically tripped hard core for an evening. Luckily I was surrounded by friends and I managed to contain myself. Now I only eat 2 at the most, which is rare cause making them requires too much pot.

  15. What was it, acid? Holy hell, I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Poor girl.

  16. Agree that no way could she have been called b-list for movies.

  17. Wait, she was A list TV? Where have I been? I don't think I've ever seen her in anything in my whole life. And I love TV and movies! Huh.

  18. Is this the night when she remembered what happened to her in the past from the blind earlier this week?

  19. Jesus Christ, I probably would have collapsed too, just knowing what's to come in 45 minutes. Back when I did smoke, more than three bowl hits would make me catatonic with sensory overload.

  20. Second what @Mother Campfire said. Edibles are my preference over alcohol and it generally takes about 45 minutes to start properly kicking in for edibles... sometimes a wee bit faster if consumed on an empty stomach with one alcoholic drink

Also, while I'm pretty good at analyzing dosage of my edibles (I've made a lot and a variety over the years) one should always remember that it's unwise to eat THC laced items without a) knowing who made them, b) asking a ton of questions about them (like the ratio of pot to brownie), and c) eating very small portions and waiting on the results since the strength can be variable.... much like mushrooms.

Finally, it only takes an eighth to make a nicely dosed batch of brownies, truffles, or cookies -- you just have to know how to make it in order to ensure the highest level of THCA is converted to THC.

  22. It's totally not cool to dose anyone with anything unbeknownst to them.

  23. I know this will designate me as the board nerd, but I'm so glad I don't do drugs.

  24. The ratings fluctuate with time. Mischa Barton in 2007 seemed like she'd go on to become the next big thing.

She was getting starring roles and that shitty modelling tv show was designed as a mischa barton vehicle.

And then it turned out that no one outside of Hollywood liked her and now she can barely get work as a WAG. :)

  25. I remember when this happened. I think it was at a Memorial Day barbecue at Nicole Richie's house. Her publicist claimed an antibiotic she was taking interacted badly with alcohol. Two days later she flew out of the country to supposedly work on a new film. Sadly she had been sick with bronchitis after traveling to Cannes, London and Paris over a few week period.

I'm wondering what she was taking when she got committed to the psych ward. Oh yeah, that was the wisdom teeth!

  26. Secretly lacing party favors is not cool. When I was a frosh in college a few years ago my friend and I unknowingly smoked a primo bowl and she reacted very badly. Like rolling on the floor having a panic attack badly. I was thoroughly enjoying myself but she still remembers it as one of the worst nights of her life thus far.

Mishca was also in a Ring of Endless light, one of those TV Disney movies that they used to play Sunday nights on ABC in the late 90's early 2000's. If that coupled with the Sixth Sense makes her Blist than maybe I can one day achieve my dream of reaching A++ acting status.

  28. What selenakyle & JSierra said--dosing people w/out their knowledge and consent is NOT OK. It's one thing to be fully aware of what substances are involved and to indulge anyway, but to take something assuming it's one thing, only to find out something else is involved as well, would be extremely upsetting. If she was expecting a nice mellow buzz, and got a rather different experience than what she's anticipated, it's no wonder she was upset. (I've also never understood those people who dose pets, etc.; I'm old enough to recall hearing about people giving dogs & cats LSD, and I can't imagine what that would do to the poor creatures's minds; I also had a roommate many moons ago whose BF was a major pothead--apparently it was the only think to help his ADHD--and periodically he'd do things like blow bong hits in her cat's face. Granted, the cat didn't seem to be bothered, but still...)

  29. I worry about this now that my son's in high school. He takes meds already for panic disorder - hope nobody ever gives him anything he doesn't know about!!

  30. @popnursing if that makes you a nerd it makes me one too. Each to their own for their own consumption but it doesn't interest me in the slightest.

  31. I've never heard of someone passing out from brownies. Freaking the freak out, yes. I kinda call bullshit on this one.

Remember when that cop and his wife ODed and made that hilarious 911 call?

  32. Pot brownies even those made with hash oil taste grassy so you can tell if they are laced. I had a high test one in July and it was intense. I kept telling myself I it was ok, to go with it and that there were people around me to help. Yes, it was that whacky. That being said I did a fourth of one from that same batch from
July, and it was great--just enough to have an edge without any freak out :)

  33. So the heat from the oven doesn't make the pot lose any of it's potency?

  35. I was working an outdoor event in 100+ weather when I was dosed w a thc muffin. I took a huge bite and swallowed before i realized it was dosed. Two other ppl around me ate the whole thing and I'm not kidding, I saw the color drain out of them and their bodies go limp and slump down in the chairs they were in. Medical assistance was called and they were extremely dehydrated. I survived by guzzling water and eating some food but I don't smoke, so it was quite terrifying!

  38. When I made pot brownies back in high school and college we just cleaned it really well (i.e. no stems and seeds) and ground it fine and added it to a brownie mix and it worked. I just looked at some recipes online and they all seem to say that using the oil method is needed. I dunno about that; we got plenty fucked up from just throwing the weed into the brownie mix.

  39. Did all u potheads see the docu on either bbc or CurrentTV where the female reporter got high in a cafe in Amsterdam, talked to doctors n then showed this adorable little old lady who baked weed into edibles for her medical use? It was fascinating!
