#2 B list television actor known for being a jackass here and in other places has a new game. He hits on women almost constantly and can't remember their names or phone numbers or who is who and where he met them. What he does is arrange for all of them is to schedule a lunch for 1pm three days a week. If any of them show up, he buys them lunch. One or more. He then takes whoever wants to go, back to his place for some afternoon fun. At least once a week he gets busy though and fails to show up at the restaurant. Since he doesn't remember their names or numbers and could care less if he stands them up, they are often left waiting, sometimes a small group of them. The restaurant is perfectly aware of who they are waiting for, and will often all our actor's assistant to find out if he is in fact going to be at lunch. If he isn't coming the staff will send them home.
Jeremy Piven
I read the first sentence and that was all I needed to see it was the Piv.
ReplyDelete@ lost, me too
ReplyDeleteAt this point I think anyone who accepts an invitation from the pivert knows what they're getting into...but he could at least pay for them to eat lunch.
If he's this much of a tool, was his mercury poisoning from eating shellfish true' or a lie?
ReplyDeleteat least it was consensual, unlike many of the blinds of late.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was living in Santa Monica around 12 years ago, my gorgeous Australian neighbor went out with him once. When she made it clear she wasn't going to sleep with him, he said the evening was over and called her a cab. Can't remember if he paid for the taxi or not :/
ReplyDelete(I've told that story once before. Sorry for the repeat, but I don't mind double dissin' the Piv)
@Sunny I remember you telling this story. No worries repeating it. He's an ass and it should be told!
DeleteDamn my eyes always go to the reveal first, no matter how hard I try. I like reading the blind, guessing, and then seeing the reveal.
ReplyDeleteOMG I'M SO SHOCKED!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd a bad actress.
As we say in Glasgow, what a dime bar diddy, bawbag, prick.
Aka, what a Piven.
@kats it's rumored to be a lie to get out of some obligation he had. I think it was a play but I don't remember.
ReplyDeleteRumour? I considered it as obvious, but maybe it was never proven?
ReplyDelete@kats, rumor has it that he basically was coked out all the time and had to drop out of the play he was in, but his publicist spun it as mercury poisoning.
ReplyDeleteI feel bad for the women who fall for this shite. Do they have so much low self esteem that they would agree to be a groupie for a C list actor?
ReplyDeleteETA why is Piven famous again? I know he was on Entourage but that was cable, and he wasn't even the star of the show.
ReplyDeleteI think he has been able to ride PCU for a long time.
DeletePeople in L.A. need better hobbies.
ReplyDeleteIf he doesn't know their name or number how can he contact them to organize a lunch date? Confused.....
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, I just loved him on Entourage. I can't help it. He makes me laugh, male slut or not.
ReplyDeleteI've waited to post this:
ReplyDeleteBack in 1993 I dated a guy in Chicago whose ex-girlfriend was best friends with a woman who said she'd been date raped by Piven.
Obviously this is hearsay, but given a) Piven wasn't famous at the time (though people did know about his parent's acting school) and b) my ex was smart and kind and not the type to make this sort of stuff up or befriend people who would, I believe it.
@Basil, I maintain a fond memory of him as "George Costanza" in 'The Pilot' episode of Seinfeld. P
ReplyDeleteI dont see how he gets ANY women, much less 2-3! He seems completely charm free and nasty as day is long.
ReplyDeleteI read it as he meets a woman, asks her out, "hey, let's get lunch on Wednesday, there's this great place at Douche Drive and Bag Blvd." and doesn't tell her that he invited other women.
ReplyDeleteThere's a hugely flattering profile of Piven in this month's Marie Claire UK. So he's still able to charm some people, ie at least one British journalist and her editor.
ReplyDeleteHe's such a playa. I don't know how someone can be so mean and organized about being a jerk.
ReplyDelete@krk67, there's whispers that that is the reason why his friendship with John Cusack went south. Cusack was more famous at the time and pulled some strings with the Chicago PD to get the case to disappear. I don't know if Cusack was A.mad that he had to do it or B. Piv wasn't properly appreciative of the gesture, but yeah that's the rumor as to why they are no longer friends.
ReplyDeleteNerner
ReplyDeleteor c) he realized his friend was a douche bag rapist?
Although that begs the question...why did he pyll those strings to get charges against an (alleged) rapist dropped?
That is the most disgusting thing...this a whole new level of douche. I think we should refer to this man as: mega tool or glory douche. What a knob. Honestly, no respect for anyone.
ReplyDeleteJust pulled out the Marie Claire UK article, which refers to Piven as a "seriously hot leading man" and in which the interviewer drops Piven such billets doux as "What aftershave are you wearing, by the way? It's lovely."
ReplyDeleteYou will be glad to know that Mr. Piven wears Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford, so if you smell that around, double-check to make sure there isn't a date rapist in the vicinity.
Cusack tweeted overnight about going to visit Julian Assange, so...
ReplyDeleteWow not shocked that pivert is a slut but the level of it! And didn't know that was the reason he and cusack stopped talking, i just assumed it was because of ego or something. My gosh! Ok I gotta say I'm so disappointed about the Piv because he is such an amazing actor and I was really happy when finally got his breakthrough on entourage. What a cess c-t. Waste of freaking talent man smh
ReplyDeleteI grew up in Evanston, Illinois and had the pleasure of being a waitress/bartender for both the Pivens and the Cusacks. First of all, the Piven parents are/were more well-known in these parts than the Cusacks at the time, so there would be no "pull" given to the Cusacks over the Pivens. Secondly, this would be an Evanston PD case, not Chicago PD. Neither John nor Jeremy would have ANY pull in the Chicago PD. The story is bullshit. Not the part about the date rape, because I have a few friends who did not want to schtup the Pivert but wound up doing it anyway. But the story of why they aren't friends on here is false. Their feud is more about their level of fame and their lifelong competitive friendship.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the clarification, @Elizabeth Hunt. Rumors are a wild thing.
ReplyDelete@Sunny: Ah, the dreaded "Double Diss." Love it!
ReplyDelete@Elizabeth Hunt, funny, I used to live exactly next door to the Piven Theater Workshop in Evanston. Quite the institution.
