Blind Item #5

This A++ list all movie actress talks about all the things that are important to her and her life personally and professionally and makes it seem she is really far left in politics. Turns out it is all talk. Her biggest disagreements with her actor husband are about politics and he has let it be known to his friends that he and his wife are on opposite sides of the spectrum no matter what she might say publicly. Our actress has already voted and she did not vote for Obama. She has voted Republican forever.

  1. Jolie? She wanted to make an Ayn Rand movie.

  2. Seriously ? Angie? That would really blow my mind. I can't think of any other A++ list actress who fits the clues right now...

    ReplyDelete
  3. She is really rich and her dad is Jon Voight, who is an open conserative.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I can see why she hides it. It's unacceptable to be anything but a democrat in Hollywood. Or in Roseanne's case, totally independent.

  5. Angie isn't married... Right?? How can this be her??

    ReplyDelete
  6. yeah but it says her actor husband, her and brad aren't married yet

    ReplyDelete
  7. Jolie and Big Poppa Pitt aren't married.

Reese Witherspoon? Not sure of her political affiliation though she did donate money to Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Campaign a few weeks ago...

  8. MARRIED!!! She is married people!

  9. Conservatism isn't genetic.

  10. I never thought for a second Reese was far left in politics. Besides, I don't think her husband is an actor.

Jolie has never known life without money. And I'm going to tell you something, despite being a U.N. goodwill ambassador, her politics in regard to that movie she directed about the war in Bosnia are extremely iffy -- borderline right wing as opposed to leftists, nevermind radical leftist.

  11. Angelina Jolie is not married

Reese Witherspoon is not married with an actor and gave money to Obama's fundraiser

  12. Jolie fits EXCEPT the married part. Unless Enty is fudging, they are like married. I do know she votes Republican at least at times. She has sad that she and Brad don't agree on all political stuff and he is very Dem.

You know whoever this is, if they can make it work more power to them.

  14. I don't think it's Angelina for two reasons. The first being, like lots have pointed out, she is NOT married, and the second reason - has everyone forgotten how upset she & Brad were when his mother wrote that letter to the editor explaining why everyone should vote Republican (or more clearly, not vote for the Democrats)?

  19. @katsm0711 - why do you feel bad for them? I'm a democrat, but everyone is entitled to have their own political opinions.

    1. Exactly @cathy, but I look at being a Republican the same as being gay in Hollywood. They're probably scared to "come out" for fear of being ostracized. If they don't go to some democratic fundraiser they could miss out on good chances to schmooze for a new role so they have to hide their beliefs and try to fit in. Being gay is acceptable now but I guess some actors are still scared.

  21. For all intents & purposes, the Leg & Chanel Boy are a permanent couple, close enough to married for me. Now that I think about it, she & Pitt are quite charitable, but he's the only one I've heard speak about equality for all and various educational & social topics as it relates to this country. She gets my guess.

  22. I do not agree with most of those people on the above list being A++! I think A++ means A++ right now,.not 10-20 years ago...

  25. Not Jolie. Wasn't she openly critical of Obama in the not too distant past?

I was thinking Barbra Streisand. She's def A+++, but she's more than an actress. So, I got nothing.

    Sarah Jessica Parker

  37. Angie Jo all the way. They could have just been upset at Brad's mother for dragging them into the spotlight with her political views (something Angelina couldn't control about her image for once) or maybe it was as simple as they don't agree with her stance on gay marriage. You can be a Republican and still be pro-gay marriage. I always thought it was more of a "she was embarrassing them and causing a PR nightmare" type thing. But what do I know lol?

  41. I know politics can be a touchy subject, but I don't really see the big deal here. Famous married couple have differences of opinion? Big deal A+++ actress lies to her fans on who she votes for? They all lie. Whoever this is, at least she votes.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Soooooo Jolie. I believe she leans right-of-centre. I think Entaliscious fudges little details in many blinds to keep it interesting for us. To me the Leg and its lover are as married as any other official couple in Hollywood.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I don't think this is Anjelina. Didn't she do a HBO movie back in the day? I know that may be splitting hairs, but "technically" that's a t.v. network.

    ReplyDelete
  44. What about Michael Doglas' wife, Catherine what's her face?

    ReplyDelete
  45. #Patty: It can't be Streisand as she has a long history of supporting Democrats.
At least two of her albums are actually performances she gave to raise money for the Democratic presidential candidate.
One was for McGovern in 1972.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Jolie has stated that she's a registered independant and that she doesn't understated why people think she's a Democrat. Can't be her.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Why is this even a blind??? Who cares, it's ridiculous either way. The Hollywood Elite pride themselves on being "sooooo openminded" so why should this even be an issue? Oh that's right, because they are complete hypocrites. And before the hating starts, I am socially liberal, but fiscally conservative. People should be able to live how they want with due regard to the law and also be able to spend their money how they want as well. I feel bad for this person that they feel like they have to hide how they think.

  51. Everything fits Jolie except the "married" part. They're engaged, though, so ... close enough? Honestly, though, she can't be stupid enough to think a Romney Administration is going to increase foreign aid or help refugees or do anything to help the women and children of war-torn areas, so assuming she truly cares about those issues I suppose this can't be her.

    ReplyDelete
  52. As mentioned above, Jolie is a follower of Ayn Rand and "the virtue of selfishness" which makes her hard-core right wing.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Grammar I am so sad with your news. I hardly every donate to things like this, but I am doing it in this case. I was wondering who to give to, sounds like Red Cross is it.

As I think more, I think this is an embellishment that Enty wants us to believe is Jolie. But she's been faily public about her political stance. She laughs that everyone assumes she is Dem - she's said she's not. She's also said the biggest disagreements she and Brad have are political. She's says she's independent and votes for whoever is best "for the children around the world." OK you haters can gag now, lol. I have a feeling she's fiscally conservative (what the GOP used to be) but liberal with social issues.

    ReplyDelete
  54. And whoever this is, might have voted for a different political party.

    ReplyDelete
  55. My first thought was Jennifer Garner.... Do we ever hear her declare herself a Democrat? She's all about talking about her husband and her personal life... Isn't AJ more "private" about her personal life than JG?

  58. I agree that Enty may have massaged this one a bit on the 'married'. How many A++ actresses are there with ACTOR husbands? I really wish Enty would publish his own "Guide to the Celebrity Grading System".

Jolie has an amazing human rights track record. I have friend who has worked with her on human rights initiatives and states "she gets it" -- her highest praise. This, however, doesn't necessarily translate to being an auto-democrat. Ugh. I really good go on and am aggressively reigning myself in -- GOSSIP NOT POLITICS :)

    ReplyDelete
  59. I think it's AJ. "Republican" and "Humanitarian" are not mutually exclusive.

That said, most Republicans I know want to do away with the UN. So I'm curious about how she reconciles her political philosophy with her work for the UN.

  64. I dont see angie voting. And i dont care who votes for whom.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I vote for Annette Bening. Because of her support of her transgendered child and her Oscar-nom role as a woman in a same sex marriage most people assume she's a Dem. And yes she is within Entys definition of permanent H'wood royalty.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Ang. And part of the reason I adore her: she doesn't follow the crowd but makes her own rules.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Why would he say Ang and Brad are married in this blind and then report on the OMG BRANGELINA WEDDING bullshit that's constantly being rehashed?

I mean, they were my first thought, but I def think the married part excludes them.

A rating for her actor husband would definitely help narrow the field...

    ReplyDelete
  68. @FrenchGirl: In English, the idiom is married to, not married with, at least when you are talking of married couples. Angelina is not married to Brad, Julia Roberts is not married to an actor.

No offense. Trying to be helpful.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Yeah, this is Jolie (Voight, Ayn Rand, rich person, etc.). Enty fudged the details. I remember reading on several occasions that Jolie is not a fan of President Obama's.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Brad and Angie refer to each other as "my husband" and "my wife". He is a confirmed democrat. I've heard rumors before that she's a closet republican. If this isn't them, it's another couple exactly like them because this applies to them completely.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Just a quick note... Randian (or objectivist, if you prefer) does not = right wing. Ayn Rand's philosophy is often in direct conflict with right wing/moral majority politics (I doubt that she'd be too keen on democracy through conquest and deficit spending, for example). Try having a serious conversation with a Republican about the gold standard. Or the war on drugs. Or whether homosexuality is anyone's business, particularly the Federal government's. I, for example, believe the government should have no part in marriage or subsidizing the institution and it has nothing to do with my concern about where someone's genitals will be spending the night.

Also, not wanting to fund (or believing that US sovereignty is subordinate to) the UN or its treaties. That parenthetical statement is a debate of constitutional law, I understand, and some may take objection to it. But I had to clear that up.

Thank you very much, @FitwithLizzie. I am an Objectivist, and in my opinion the closest political party to Objectivism is Libertarian, which contrary to what some might think is actually very centrist.

  75. Brad Pitt was her "actor husband" in the movie they made together. Still, Jolie has kept her political affiliations close to the vest -- but maybe that's how she's tried to let people conclude for themselves what her party is.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Rand hated the Libertarian party. Lots of interesting reading out there about that subject. OT: if the Libertarian candidate gets 5% of the vote this year then the Libertarian party will then be automatically on each state's ballot for the 2016 election. Fascinating to study as it unfolds.

  78. @FitwithLizzie " I, for example, believe the government should have no part in marriage or subsidizing the institution"

Fine, but that's not what the liberals are fighting for. To me, the whole rationale for state recognition of marriage is support for reproduction with kids having both genders as parents. If that's not the case, there's no point to the state recognizing marriage.

Even if one were to say the purpose is to subsidize a life partner (though why the state should do so is an unanswered question), then marriage should be extended to immediately family members - it's quite possible that a parent, adult offspring, or sibling is one's home support and usual companion.

  79. @Bluevelvet "She is really rich"

So is every successful actor, and the great majority of them are liberal.
