I think Maverick got it. The Nashville people don't make sense because they're fictional/new roles and characters that we've never seen before. Carrie Bradshaw is a very famous role.
I actually think it's Jane Levy and Jeremy Sisto on "Suburgatory". Watching it, they have a really intimate vibe that makes me wonder what goes on behind closed doors.

My first thought was Lucy Liu on Elementary (Watson is a pretty famous A-list role), but, and I have missed a few episodes, I don't think they've introduced Watson's dad!
It's gotta be one of two women on "Nashville." The way I read Enty's post is: a B/C actress is portraying a character, and that character is very famous A-list within the show's universe.
The "Sex and the City" guesses don't fit because Carrie Bradshaw isn't a famous A-list celebrity in the SATC universe.

He ended up leaving his wife and marrying her. She was half his age at the time and younger than his oldest kids. Icky stuff.
