Beyonce Pulls Out Of A Star Is Born
This would have been the perfect role for Beyonce, but she has told producers she is pulling out of Clint Eastwood's Star Is Born. The remake has been stalled and this might push it into extinction. I also think she did not want to have any part of doing anything with Bradley Cooper who is being talked about as the male lead. She has heard some things about him and when you are Beyonce, it is not like you need the movie to make your life complete. I have heard that Lea Michele is the top choice to replace Beyonce. Well, I predict if she does get the role and Bradley Cooper does too, that Bradley will be hitting on lea everyday, regardless of whether she is still dating Corey Monteith.
I think Bradley Cooper would make a great James Mason/Kris Kristofferson hybrid.
ReplyDeleteAnd Lea will totally lose her shit to play a role once played by Judy and Barbra.
I get the major greasy/douche vibe from Bradley Cooper.
ReplyDeleteWasn't going to watch it anyway. I only liked the James Mason/Judy Garland version.
ReplyDeleteThank God!!! We don't need another Star is Born. We've had 3 remakes already. They need to let this movie go and come up with more creative movie ideas.
ReplyDeleteI might be in the minority here but I liked the guy before everything started coming out about him here.
ReplyDeleteI find him attractive. I've seen him a few interviews and thought he was engaging, interesting articulate, etc.
I suppose it goes to show that you never know what lies beneath the surface...
What foolish remake twist are they going to throw into the story to make it "contemporary"?
ReplyDeleteMovie sounds lame and I don't even know what its about. Hope lea gets the part so that she can see what happens when she's not the one running the show. Bradleys going to make her squirm.
ReplyDeleteWhile this movie is totally uncreative and unnecessary, I might have gone to see it with Beyonce; with Lea Michele, no way. Let it die.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's time for both the movie and Clint to retire.....
ReplyDeleteIt said something about Esperanza Spalding being looked at too. I hope this doesn't come off as racist, bc I don't mean for it to be, but why does he want to use a black actress for a "remake", if the other two actresses in the previous ones were white? Or is a "re-imagined" version?
ReplyDeleteJust asking.
Or is it supposed to be like the bodyguard as well? Because that was interracial. I just Wonder what his plans are. I think Spalding is a more appropriate pick than beyonce, and she's younger, so the premise would be more believable..
DeleteHey, I still like Bradley.
ReplyDeleteHe's from where I live and I've seen him a few times, always nice and never rude like other celebs I have seen around. I really don't believe any of the nasty things people say about him, at all.
Maybe they were being considered for reasons other thank their blackness?
ReplyDeleteI loved the Streisand version. Beyonce would have been a good choice, just not sure about Bradley. I like musicals, so I'll probably watch no matter who stars.
ReplyDeleteClint is good at musicals...who remembers Paint Your Wagon? Haha
NOOOOOOOO leave Esperanza out of all this mess! Good for Beyonce for leaving, too.
ReplyDeleteI like her better than B, but she isn't an actress. Why can't people just let the singers stick to that genre? She's good at it.
DeleteShould star Blohan and Charlie Sheen.
ReplyDeleteVicki! Good choices!
DeleteLove Clint, but this sounds shiteous.
ReplyDeleteWhy could I see Lea dumping Cory for Bradley? He is a "bigger star."
ReplyDeleteClint Eastwood will die having directed more films after the age of 80 than Terrence Malick will have completed in a lifetime. Eastwood is the hardest working geezer on earth.
ReplyDeleteI can't for the life of me imagine B. Cooper hitting on Lea Michele "everyday". In her dreams, maybe...
ReplyDeletethere was a very controversial post of bradley cooper or zoe saldana were Himmmmm wrote something about the guy or their relationship... it blew up because there were lots of comments with genre violence issues. I was late to the party (himmm had already deleted the post), somebody could fill us in pliz? :)
ReplyDeleteserious question: does Lea Michelle have ANY appeal to anyone, whatsoever? I assumed she was on Glee so you could love to hate how annoying she was.
ReplyDeleteEnty ,stop coke! what you say is untrue

Eastwood wants to replace Beyonce for Esperanza Spaulding and Cooper only met Eastwood and said he was interested by working with Eastwood and now the studio eyes Johnny Depp
the trouble is not Cooper or Beyonce, the problem is the AWFUL script
totally OT:Cooper did 2 movies with Jennifer Lawrence this year
Only in Beyonce world can she act. It is painfull for me to even watch her on screen. She is no way an actress. Just because you can sing doesn't mean you can act. Get over yourself. I also think that this movie has been done to death. Are there NO orginal ideas in Hollyweird any more. Can't spell today.
ReplyDeleteLea actually did a fantastic acting job on last weeks Glee. It's the first time I've really seen her chops. She had me in tears at the end.
ReplyDelete@califblondy - Paint Your Wagon is one of my favorite movies!! Lee Marvin is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteMine too...love it!
Deletei head esparanza spalding is the top choice to replace beyonce not lea michele
ReplyDeleteOT but I loved the snl forgotten bond girls sketch. They nailed Lea Michele. And a bunch of others lol. But that sketch will now come to mind whenever her name is mentioned lol.
ReplyDelete@ old ;ady - She's certainly no Meryl Streep but she was okay in Obsessed and that Austin Powers movie.
ReplyDeleteOT: Hi Vicki!
Wonder if she didn't want to work with Clint because of his problems with Obama.
ReplyDeleteEsperanza Spalding is an amazing musician but has she ever acted?
ReplyDelete@ Worstcompanytoworkfor: Eastwood is republican since always and he worked with many liberal guys (Damon,Dicaprio,Robbins,Freeman,Penn...)
ReplyDeletethe problem is the script (too many A list actors aren't interested by acting in this movie :it's too weird)
Maybe Clint can cast an empty chair for that role?
ReplyDelete@Lazy - I think Woody Allen makes more movies than Clint - but he's not 80 yet.
ReplyDeleteIam still laughing at the streisand/kristofferson version! Fav line-"you're scaring me, john norman" the orginal stands alone, no update needed.
ReplyDelete@Barton: The contemporary version will have the lead become a crack head instead of an alcoholic. Or meth.
ReplyDelete@figgy is a genius and should be in charge of casting everything forever
ReplyDeleteI think Jennifer Hudson should be cast. Loved her in Dreamgirls and having seen the trailer for Winnie -wow!
ReplyDeleteA remake of a remake of a remake - oh joy!!!! Aren't 3 versions of this movie enough!!! Let it go already!!!
ReplyDelete/rant
I think she pulled out because Eastwood supported Mitt. Hey; I'm just saying.
ReplyDeleteThis movie has been remade enough!
ReplyDeleteStop destroying good movies with remakes with mediocre actors!! I have yet to see Bradley Cooper do a good drama, he just doesn't have what it takes! And Beyonce! Please!!! She disappeared in Dreamgirls next to the talented Jennifer Hudson who by the way would be a great choice for this role. I think a good choice for the male lead would be Joaquin Phoenix, he's got that self destructive thing down.
ReplyDeleteWhy was it postponed? Does Eastwood have cognitive impairments? Anyone seen the Trouble with Curve?
ReplyDeleteWho pray tell is the battering ram that has been trying to shove Bradley Cooper down our throats? BC is a character actor and/or a 2nd banana to a comic at best and chalk on a blackboard at all other times.
ReplyDeleteWhoever you are knock if off. There are plenty of others for you to glomb onto. Give someone else a chance to play you.
