Anderson Cooper Show Canceled

It has been two long years of watching Anderson Cooper try to get people to watch his daytime talk show with no success. What I think he should have done is have a co-host like Andy Cohen or Kathy Griffin and it would have been much less pressure on Anderson everyday. I feel like maybe he was too stretched out with everything he has to do everyday and a co-host would also make him laugh and loosen up more. On his show, I know he tried to be loose, but it was forced, and not him being relaxed. Producers have decided not to renew the show for a third season. Chances are good that there will be no Ricki Lake or Jeff Probst for a second season. I'm shocked Jeff Probst has not already been canceled.

  1. There are SOOO many talk shows, I don't understand how half of them stay on the air.

  2. He bores me. And the fact that it took him so long to come out publicly still shits me.

  3. I actually liked anderson...but ricki and Katie can go.

  4. Much as I love him, his show was kind of dull. He's a patrician from a fine family with manners and decency -- and that doesn't work on television.

  5. He was a snore. He's really meant for 60 Minutes or CNN.

  6. He's excellent on CNN. This isn't the milieu for him. I watched him last night on the beach somewhere in NJ at the height of the storm and he was great. He needs to stay in reporting.

  7. I lost a lot of respect for Anderson from his talk show. I found him so professional and carring as a reporter, and then when his talk show started I thought it cheapened him.

  8. Now he can do The Mole again! That's all I care about. Bring back The Mole.

I mean Andy, I'm really sorry about your show. Could I interest you in an alternative?

  9. He was so perfect as a co-host with Kelly Ripa and now his show is cancelled and she has a new peranant host. Life really is all about timing.

  10. Yeah I see him more as a serious journalist.Although when he made fun of Courtney Stodden I was secretly, no outwardly ecstatic.

  11. Agreed. I feel like daytime television talk shows with guests like the f'ing Real Housewives was a total step down for him. He should stick with what he does best--hard hitting news. AC360 is great.

  12. I totally would have watched it if Kathy Griffin was his sidekick; she brings out the funny in AC.

  13. seriously, there are way too many talk shows out there and hardly anyone interesting to interview.

  14. I like Anderson, but a Talk Show isn't really a good fit for him. Plus he had so many other things going on it has to be just too much.

And yeah, bring back The Mole!

I'm with Susan B and Sherry. I just don't think a light hearted day time talk show is his speed or style. He's great more as a straight man, serious anchor type, who cracks up and giggles about stupid honey boo boo type stuff occasionally. He's just not the light hearted joke cracking talkative type, he's more the thoughtful, deep, intellectual that gets in to serious stuff with a bit of fluff to lighten the mood.

  16. The show was only on for 13 months, minus the summer hiatus. Not 2 years.

He's far better suited for news programming.

  17. Too bad he couldn't have been Kelly's cohost. His show got in the way and now Regis's slot is filled. I always liked when Anderson co-hosted with Kelly.

  21. Ricki Lake's time has come and gone. Don't know why she came back except for money.

  22. There *are* too many talk shows. (I should know I watch at least half of them!). I agree w/ the rest of you that Anderson is a well respected journalist and this show/format just does not suit him. God knows I love him. He should just stick to CNN and make his occasional appearances on random shows like Kathy & Watch What Happens Live.
