Peaches Geldof Parenting Skills

So, there you are walking down the street, chatting on the phone while you push your infant along. Nothing wrong with that except maybe you are not paying close attention to the cracks in the sidewalk so the next thing you know,

your baby goes boom. Now, there are signs of stress on Peaches' face which is a good thing, but

not enough to where she would stop talking to the person on the other end of the phone. How about dropping the phone and checking on your baby and not trying to make sure you can keep talking.

  2. Poor little babs. This sort of thing can happen, but yeah, put your phone down for a minute, woman!

    ReplyDelete
  3. Really, the baby didn't topple out?
Idiot. I'm assuming she made those comments before realizing there are pictures posted all over.

  4. Hey Peaches - It's called personal responsibility! Get some! ;)

  6. That baby sure didn't look strapped in to me.

I'm sure there are plenty of good mothers out there who don't always keep both hands on the stroller, but I wonder if it would have tipped, had both her hands been on it.

  7. Put the fracking mother fracking down!!!!

I see so many mothers talking on the phone while pushing the stroller. And even mothers with two or three kids walking along. Totally ignoring the kids while talking on the cell phone and the kids trying to get the mother's attention. So sad.

  9. shakey - if you click on the top pic to embiggen, you can see that it looks like there's a "tile" missing. It's like a 1" drop and that front left wheel is in it.

Obviously accidents happen, but c'mon. Pay attention! It's not like she has to go through a party line and ask the operator to call the person back. Just click their name on the "Recents" list. Geez, Louise.

  10. Also, use an earpiece w/mic. It comes with your iPhone!

    ReplyDelete
  11. yeah not much of a defense when you're on the phone trying to work out your next payday to be on the cover of Hello! magazine.

Pay atention to what you're doing and accidents don't happen as much.

  12. She clearly did not have control of the pram... and wasn't even LOOKING DOWN. Sheesh. Poor baby.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Wow! Peaches Geldof doesn't have the greatest parenting skills??? I'm shocked.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Put down the PHONE! Pay attention to your baby!

Even at the end she didn't put the phone down. Parenting fail!!!

  15. i saw this last night and i was so upset...still rage every time i see this
she's pendeja, f- your f-ing phone! i like how she is blaming LONDON for her stroller falling...poor little guy (this is just the beginning of his poor life with this trainwreck).

    ReplyDelete
  16. You guys, accidents do happen, and even if not on the phone you can miss that the pavement is broken.

HOWEVER! Just goes to show what her priorities are! If that had happened to me I wouldn't even have taken the time to hold onto the phone, I would have just dropped it to get to me baby.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I am sorry to say this but I laughed a little! Only because I know the baby didn't get hurt:) The mother Yeah she's an idiot!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. In her defence I want to say that prams with small front wheels are not very stable. I had pram like that with my second child and it fell several times. It never happened with my first child, when I had a standart pram on four big wheels.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Also. There is no way in hell that baby had it's belt on. You can clearly see from the pictures no baby safety belt and the baby did topple over. It's hard to lie when there is photographic proof.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Totally co-sign @Unknown. I was going to use the f-word, but s/he said it so much better!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Jeepers ..that kid is gonna need a helmet. Mom doesn't miss a beat does she? dropped the kid but not the phone .

    ReplyDelete
  22. is that a stokke? totally not defending pg bc i think she's quite douchetastic--but aren't those strollers controversial b/c of their high center of gravity? hers isn't the first little wee one to topple over easily. poor little guy. i hope he's ok.

as a sidenote, i have that same ks polka dot iphone case...it's quite slippery...yet she sure does manage to hang on to it. :(

    ReplyDelete
  23. I don't see the crack but I do see a weird stroller that doesn't look safe and sturdy. Looks like Peaches was more into in aesthetics instead.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm sorry, but who the hell is this person? Other than a moron?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ah, Peaches. My best friend in Vancouver had an orange cat that attacked people and drew blood. The cat was named Peaches. I'm starting to think that naming someone "peaches" is a guarantee of a heartless psychopath.

Accidents happen but for crying out loud put the d**n phone down a few minutes!

    ReplyDelete
  27. LOL @ "pendeja".

And nice to know she's continuing the vicious cycle of bizarre child names.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Wasn't there a run-a-away stroller story not too long ago where the a trucker ran across the street to catch the baby in the stroller? I''m sure it's on YouTube. Those bad parenting skills happen in the US too.

The fact that the infant fell can be considered an accident, but why didn't she stop the call and tend to the babe. Reminds me of the buffalo clip from yesterday. The parent was irresponsible to goad his children to go near the wild animal, but I was appalled the father took off running leaving that young child trailing behind.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I agree about father yesterday! Thought same thing!

  31. LOL Barton. I love that you equated a cat as a heartless psychopath. Between that and White lilly's "happy as a watermelon" I have a couple new favorite things!

  32. she's such a fucking asshole. G-d help that poor baby.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Peaches, were you talking to Shelly?

    Where's Shelly?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Absolutely nothing wrong with talking on the phone while pushing your baby along. As a 24 yr old with two kids under the age of 2 I know first hand there's little to no time in my day to get things done (maybe she was making an Appoinment?) without having to "ignore" your children for a moment or two. As Long as everyone is safe. That being said. I would've called them back.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'll defend her

The sidewalks (and roads ) are total SHIT here in the UK. No joke I turned my ankle the other day because the sidewalk is so fucking uneven.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm not going to get on her case about talking on the phone while pushing the stroller. But I can't believe she kept talking while trying to attend to the baby. As others have said, the moment the stroller tipped my phone would have also been hitting the ground, call forgotten.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I really hate judging other mothers but that stroller looks unsafe and she should put the phone down when pushing the baby, if you need to make a call stop for a minute! The baby could've been hurt!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm not gonna fault her for the actual accident. I think everyone tries to multi-task and gets comfortable with all the little things you do on a day to day basis. But, my first thought was that the child wasn't buckled in, then I read down below that she says it was. That's BS. She should have just said "now I understand why I it's important to strap the baby in". No need to lie about it.

    1. Well, shes a new mom, and mb doesnt hv anyone to shiw her things.

  39. Is she sure the baby wasn't trying to get away and jumped for it?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Anonymous11:42 AM

She's as stupid as her mother was!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Besides being a dumb-ass she is also a liar. If the baby was strapped like she said she was she would not have been able to get the baby like she did.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yes, accidents can happen and she should have dropped the darn phone ... but it's amazing how the photographer also just kept snapping away instead of putting his/her camera down to offer to help, no? Because that photo reward/payment is so much more important that making sure the baby was okay.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I just came to say I've always liked the word "pram".

    ReplyDelete
  44. #1-Baby NOT strapped in
#2-She never put down her phone
#3-She took zero responsibility for her actions.

Draw your own conclusions from that.

    ReplyDelete
  45. It's not even the phone that had me concerned. Why is the baby not strapped in the seat?

    ReplyDelete
  46. @ Ingrid, your comment about names reminded me. I remember I was in Croatia on holiday when the news of her mother, Paula Yates, dying broke. A friend had heard it on the news and said police had found Crack Cocaine and Amphetamine Sulphate. I said "Where the other two kids staying with Bob?"

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ah come on you guys, much as I hate to defend Peaches Geldof (and I REALLY hate defending her), that shit can happen to anyone. She wasn't abusing the kid or kicking the damn pram onto the highway or anything, she was talking on her phone, the stroller hit a crack and ooops! Could happen to anyone at all. I don't have kids but if I did I'm pretty sure they'd have seen the inside of the ER a few times by now from similar type of situations.

    ReplyDelete
  48. At the risk of everyone getting mad at me, i think its rude to talk on your cell phine when u are with your kids. To me it says," youre boring, go away, i want to talk on the phone.". I can see if hv to make apprs, confirm spouse pickup or something like that, but to just blab with friend seems inattentive and rude to me. U already hv something to do. Watching ur children.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Exactly. I don't care that she was chatting on the phone, but as soon as that baby fell, she should have thrown that phone on the ground to care for her baby! THAT is what makes her an asshole.

    ReplyDelete
  50. idiot with fucked up priorities, let that damn phone go if your baby is flying out of control like that.

    gah!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Maybe if she hadn't been talking on her cell phone at the same time she would've seen the sidewalk better.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Anonymous1:18 PM

The kid's name is actually Astala? Is his middle name Vista?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Good lord, why didn't she have him strapped in? She obviously knew it was the safe thing to do because she lied about it on twitter. What an idiot....

    ReplyDelete
  54. It was probably the most attention it got all day.

    ReplyDelete
  55. no fault for the accident...faulting her for continuing to talk on the phone. idiot

    ReplyDelete
  56. Have you seen the pictures she has posted of Astala putting blankets/toys on his head? Who else is worried that the baby is going to choke to death on blankets/toys that should not be in the crib until he can roll over and save himself?

  57. Would somebody please post the blind about Kristin Davis and baby? I've been looking and I'm going nuts! Thanks in advance!

  61. That is a peaches lyric. I always thought they were the same person :/

    ReplyDelete
  62. The dumb bitch never put the phone down...
I see nannies all the time here in the city, going on and on with the cell at their ears, baby in the carriage....sorry but but that's just not right.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I had the same stroller, but for the twinsises, and if that baby was strapped in like she said he was, he wouldn't have been all upside down like that. Not strapped in for sure!

    ReplyDelete
  64. @Serenity_now, I also have no idea who Peaches Geldof is. Unfortunate name, whoever she is.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I agree Em, the word 'pram' is awesome.

This happened to a friend with her niece falling out of the pram, She was hysterical and freaked out for about an hour. I wish Peaches had similar reaction.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I I actually DO hate her for talking on her cell while pushing the stroller. You need two hands to push a shopping cart and especially an unstable, wobbly baby carriage. That way if you hit a pothole the correct arm can compensate and avoid the carriage toppling over. Her problem is that she's off balance, look at how her shoulder is raised to bring her ear comfortably closer to where she's holding the phone. My final conclusion is that I hate her for not wearing a hands free headset. Like I believe Amber said, THE ONE THAT COMES WITH YOUR IPHONE! Idiot. Yeah yeah moms need to multitask and it's possible not to be hated while multitasking as long as both hands are free for the baby!

    ReplyDelete
  67. It INFURIATES me that she didn't put her phone down!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Why is she looking anorexic again and so fast after having the baby. Is she back on drugs? She looks emaciated.

    ReplyDelete
  69. WORSE than the chatting on the phone is that the baby wasn't strapped in! That's so unsafe!! A baby that size MUST be strapped. BS the baby didn't hit his / her? head - of course they did! And, HARD! INTO PAVEMENT!! This is utterly atrocious and disgusting. And, yes, but the F'G phone down you maggot piece of sh*t.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Gee instead of snapping pictures and recording her every word, maybe the idiot stalking her could have offered the new mother a hand and helped her out. Just saying...

    ReplyDelete
  71. wow. almost can't believe those pictures. looks like she is very focused on not dropping the phone or having the stroller fall on her feet. poor baby :( seems odd the baby didn't even fuss.

    ReplyDelete
  72. @Syko: Good one!
@EmEyeKay: "I'd like a bit of pram, please!"

    ReplyDelete
  73. lets just leave it at:
    PENDEJA
    and call it a day.

maybe a "babosa" in there every now and then...poor kid :(

    ReplyDelete
  74. BABBY! He was lucky he didn't hit his head, poor thing. Bitch, drop that phone!

    ReplyDelete
  75. PugsterMom, I came to say that. Ok, she should have put down the phone immediately, but someone stood by and took picture after picture after picture and never offered to help?! Yeah, you got your payday with those pics, I hope you know that money doesn't make you a good person. What an astounding lack of compassion and empathy and basic human concern!

    1. If there had been a pap in my face recording every stupid thing I did as a new mom... it wouldn't have been pretty. But you learn!

  76. seriously!?! accidents do happen yes, she shouldnt have been more prudent though and more attentive. and its stupid how she keeps saying oh than god he was strapped in.. YA OK sure looks strapped in to me... thats why hes tumbling out of it?!

    ReplyDelete
  77. should have been more prudent*
    oh thank god*

    ReplyDelete
  78. I don't believe it's her fault at all. It happens. It's a carriage with wheels and living in NYC, the sidewalks are horrible in some areas. They stick up or are broken in some parts...and it's impossible to see with pushing a carriage.

Also, for her being on the phone. I think she panicked and just went for the baby, rather than thinking about hanging up the phone. It probably all happened within 5 seconds and she was just reacting, not thinking.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Happened to my mom when I was a kid, before the invention of jogging strollers. I was ok. Apparently i thought it was flipping hilarious. Was safely strapped in. My mom said she was beating herself up over it. At least she cared about me more than some stupid piece of technology. Stupid peaches.
