LMFAO Split
I know you are saying to yourself. first there were The Beatles that split and then The Smiths and now LMFAO. How will you ever recover? I'm not sure any of us will ever be able to recover or fully love music again because the group has split. There will be no sequel to Sexy And I Know It. I will never find out what is to be done when you have passion in your pants. I think the world is a much more sad place today now that Red Foo and Sky Blu have decided to part ways.
They're just changing their name to BRB.
ReplyDeleteLOL
DeleteHilarious!
DeleteHilarious!
DeleteIngrid, you are a super star!
DeleteWay to ruin my weekend.
ReplyDeleteIngrid! High five!
ReplyDeleteToo bad. They made some really fun music.
ReplyDeleteNo bob Dylan's but I agree, their music was fun
ReplyDeleteThis is how I roll, animal print pants outta control.
ReplyDeleteI'll actually miss LMFAO. They were more fun and cool then frickin' Kanye and Li'l Wayne
ReplyDeleteEveryday I'm Shufflin'
ReplyDeleteWhy in the HELL DO PEOPLE DO THIS? First they become huge successes, make millions of dollars, have huge fanbases across the globe, sell out arenas, have complete creative control of their products and then say , eh you know what, I think that I'm going to be just as good as this group on my own, so screw the fan base, screw the success, screw the group dynamic which made you a success and listenable and just go write haikus accompanied by your harmonica and djeridoo and expect to have the same kind of success, women, money, adulation and record sales as you did as part of a multi platinum superstar group. The group and the group's music are what worked, don't mess with success. I respect that he feels that creatively they are going to go in two different directions, etc. Hopefully he's the talent and he'll be able to make it on his own, but have we ever heard of all the other members of nsync, backstreet boys, 98 degrees doing anything, making any money? Joey Fatone was on dancing with the stars. Do you think he's getting any checks from that? Lance Bass? The Lachey brother? They stars should remember it's the group that made it big. Justin Timberlake did well after going solo. John Lennon and Paul Mccartney did well solo too. Who has the talent of Justin Timberlake (singing not acting), Paul McCartney or John Lennon? Exactly. I don't know about you but buying a concert ticket and an album for LMFAO would be a fun party experience/sound/concert. Buying a ticket or a cd for Redfoo? We'll see how his solo stuff does, I just don't get why so many people get so full of themselves, so overconfident in their talent that they say screw the group, screw all these other people, it's about me! Me and my needs. I need to be recognized as the solo STAH that I am! All these losers from my hometown that helped me get success can all just suck it.
ReplyDeleteI was bummed when I found this out yesterday. I love their music. Best workout music EVER.
ReplyDeleteNice, Ingrid! ;)
ReplyDeleteI like that Ingrid! Also you know they will be back by summertime...
ReplyDeleteShocking. I really thought they were in it for the long haul...bahahahahahahaha! Totally fucking kidding!
ReplyDeleteThis actually does make me sad, their music is super fun and they never took themselves too seriously like so many other 'artists'.
ReplyDeleteWhy are they splitting? They are uncle and nephew and I thought they got along well.
According to Pop Up Video, they were fighting over money. Love that show.
ReplyDeleteBatting 1000, Ingrid :) Thanks for the laughs this lazy morning
ReplyDeleteIn 10 years they will be nothing more than a foggy memory on the time line of music. The industry will go on and find some other mildly talented but overly annoying act to showcase in an overplayed video.
ReplyDeleteSeptember 22, 2012. The new day the music died.
ReplyDeleteIt's also possible that they decided to break up/take a break precisely because they are uncle & nephew and arguing about money; they may have decided that they'd rather put their family relationship first and that if breaking up the band was what it took to do that, so be it. It's too bad in a way; they're certainly not the Beatles, but it was silly, fun music, and as has been pointed out, they didn't take themselves too seriously. Here's wishing them well w/whatever they decide to do in the future (production, maybe?).
ReplyDeleteThey probably just ran out of material and preferred to break up rather than put out a tortured shitty sophomore album. I can 100% respect that
ReplyDelete@CarmeliteLady
ReplyDelete"...just go write haikus accompanied by your harmonica and djeridoo..."
ROFL
ingrid, you are KILLING IT today. *so enjoying your comments*
ReplyDeleteahhh...such sad loss for the music industry. #markthisday
ok, so seriously...i'm all sorts of meh on this. they know they're all schtick...that only gets harder and harder to keep up when you don't have the type of backup (or actual talent) someone like, say, gaga has. better to bow out now while they have some semblance of a fanbase and haven't fallen off the face of soundscan sales altogether, than to have their money-arguing/lack of talent come to the forefront. it's a pretty smart move, actually.
I'm going to miss the guy with the box head. That's what I want to be for Halloween.
ReplyDeleteI was shocked to find out that they had been together for over five years.. Guess I’m not up on the “hip” music...
ReplyDeleteLike Robin said, they're uncle and nephew, and Berry Gordy is their grandpa/father. They came from $$..
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laughs Ingrid! You're on a roll today!!
ReplyDeleteOn fuego today Ingrid!
ReplyDeletethank you God!
ReplyDeleteYeah without Barry Gordy these fools would be nothing. Damn you, Barry Gordy!!!! *shakes fist*
ReplyDeleteAm I a twat for saying I saw that "BRB" joke online the other day?
ReplyDeleteI guess it is ttyl to LMFAO.
