Liz & Dick
You have to watch this. I think Lifetime made a brilliant decision in only allowing Lindsay to have three seconds of talking in the promo, but it is probably three seconds too much. The first clip of her voice is some kind of affected British accent that Madonna does and then later she does her Mean Girls voice so, yeah, she was all over the place. This will be the most atrocious made for tv movie ever and will make Tori Spelling look like Dame Judi Dench.
I'm still feeling dirty from "I Fug Who Fugged Me."
ReplyDeleteThey should just market this as a bad movie to watch and laugh at.
ReplyDeleteWell, it's definitely a lifetime movie.
ReplyDeletei can't wait til someone splices her lines from this with her interviews/court dates:
ReplyDeleteInterviewer: you've just been arrested for the 4th time?
Lindsay: Who's counting!?!?
...will make Tori Spelling look like Dame Judi Dench.
ReplyDeleteJUST about spewed my coffee at this.
This will be the best terrible movie ever. SNL will get a season out of this alone.
ReplyDeleteLiLo was pretty good in "Mean Girls" and passable in "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" but those movies were about her limit. She really doesn't have the talent to play anything much more serious than those, and she no longer has the looks for those kinds of roles, either. Her best shot now would probably be to do a Tara Reid and try to set herself up as a hyperexpensive call girl.
ReplyDeleteMy throat hurts just hearing her voice.
ReplyDeleteSeems on par for the average Lifetime movie.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that Grant Bowler needed a paycheck so bad he accepted this role. He's really a fine actor.
You never go full Liz Taylor...
ReplyDeletespit take ! Thank goodness only water.
DeleteI never thought she was a good actress, she overacts. Still can't wait for this shitness!
ReplyDeleteTotally watched this just moments before coming here.
ReplyDeleteWow... Just wow.. That was bad, even for made for tv.
this is a do not miss, perhaps a run up to Valley of the Dolls for worst melodramatic movie ever!! Cant wait!!
ReplyDeleteShaunie- that ^^ is hilarious!!!

ReplyDeleteI just looked the movie up on IMDB and it has Mr. Sheffield from The Nanny, Creed from The Office and Steve from Sex and The City in it. I'd watch it just to see those three - the shitshow that is Lindsay Lohan will be the icing on the cake.
ReplyDeleteCounting down the moments until La Liz materializes a diamond studded hand (clutching a 2x4) outta Heaven and smacks Blohan upside the head.
ReplyDelete5...4...3...2...
i'm not even going to try and front and deny it. I am going to watch it, I am going to watch the commercials. I am going to watch every second of this shit show and laugh and laugh.
ReplyDeleteauntliddy Valley of the Dolls a a great comparison. This looks laugh out loud funny.
ReplyDeleteI see like 30+ drinking games coming out of this...
ReplyDelete"You never go full Liz Taylor..."
ReplyDelete*snort*
Why do I have a feeling that Ms. Taylor, God rest her soul, might actually be sympathetic towards Ms. Lohan?!
Although she doesn't look much like Liz, she does look very, very good for Lindsay. And her mean-girl voice is completely wrong. Liz never, ever, EVER sounded like a frog.
ReplyDeleteHowever, whats-his-face does a spot-on Richard Burton impression there at the end.
I'd check it out, if I had cable.
That FROG voice! She looks beautiful until she opens her mouth. I just can't *but I probably will*
ReplyDeleteCathy - You know someone is already starting to pull the court clips so they're all ready to go... It will be hilllarious!!!
High Five Shaunie! That one will make me laugh all day!!!
Enty, if I were you, I'd be on full alert. Dame Judi Dench is going to want to find you and kill you in your sleep for that comparison.
ReplyDeleteThe accent! It's like Sienna Miller in Factory Girl, but... worse.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes me super sad is they used Alex Clare's music. What a shame : /
ReplyDeleteIt will be ratings gold if they could air the Dina-Dr Phil episode after they air this show.
ReplyDeleteI happened to catch A Prairie Home Companion on TV not too long ago, and was really surprised when Lindsay sang an ad lib version of Frankie and Johnny--according to IMDb she did her own vocals, and her voice was really good! That was in 2006, and it's sad to see where her attitude and choices have lead her. Look for it on Youtube, you'll be surprised, too.
ReplyDeleteMr. Sheffield, really? Okay, I'm in.
ReplyDeleteGrant Bowler looked and sounded good. I blanked out on everything else.
ReplyDeleteAKM, the most beautiful thing about Elizabeth was how she defended the underdogs. She had such a big heart. It would be interesting to know how she would have perceived Lindsay. I like to think Lindsay would steal some of Liz's fabulous jewels and then Liz would crush her like a bug. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteRobert, she DID do a good job in APHC, didn't she? That whole movie, although bearing VERY little resemblance to my beloved actual radio APHC, was kind of an underrated little gem.
ReplyDeleteHowever, IIRC, she was very hard to work with on that set. In fact, I remember hearing Garrison Keillor began nicknaming her "Lola," à la DAMN YANKEES, IYKWIM. I don't think he thought too much of her character and work ethic.
And Black Cat, you're probably right...on all counts. Oof. ;-)
Someone just told me her next movie will be called Lez & Dicks - nearly dropped my coffee. Wish I could claim it as my own...
ReplyDeleteOh, and I know that her character WAS in fact named Lola. Garrison apparently found it wryly ironic and would sing the song sarcastically to refer to LL. That's what I heard, anyway.
ReplyDeleteWe should all do a google plus hang out and watch this together because I know that every. single. one of us. will be watching this movie.
ReplyDeleteIm in !!! Totally!! Great idea!!
Deletei hate her and hope she dies...but I'm so looking forward to this
ReplyDeleteDiscoflux- I so agree! I just figured out how to google chat with my grandma, she loves it.
ReplyDeleteShauniebear, *high five* that was great! :)
ReplyDeleteOh Shaunie..I just laughed and laughed. Getting looks in the office.
ReplyDeleteYeah Valley of the Dolls was bad but "Mommy Dearest" was the best BAD of them al.

*all*
ReplyDeleteoooohhh...I am watching this trainwreck. I'm gonna make a date with my DVR!
ReplyDelete"This video is not available in your country."
ReplyDeleteI'll go feed my koalas instead.
can. not. wait. when the hell this thing supposed to be on?
ReplyDeleteI never understood why they would cast her Liz Taylor. Lindsay is a terrible actress. Even in Mean Girls, which I like, she is not that great. Liz did like to change up her voice a lot in that snobbish way, though, like Madonna and Jackie O.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe anyone would compare Lindsay to Sienna Miller - Sienna can actually act and was very good in Factory Girl. As for APHC, Lindsay was not especially good at playing an angsty teen (I was one and was a big fan of Nirvana), but she did a really good job singing. She also had decent moments in Georgia Rule, but is not Oscar caliber, even though she thinks she is.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Elizabeth Taylor is not around to see this.
ReplyDeleteI just can't watch it -- I keep thinking about the destruction of that trailer that was borrowed for the movie.
Remember when people used to insist that Lindsay Lohan was talented?
ReplyDeleteAugh! Liz Taylor is rolling over in her grave. I'm still going to watch it, just to mercilessly make fun of it. It's like when Lifetime did that horrible movie about Prince William and Kate.
ReplyDelete"Lifetime.... where actors' careers go to die."
Honestly, that trailer wasn't as bad as I thought. It coulda been worse...
