Apparently Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have negotiated some kind of settlement in their split. According to The NY Daily News, Depp has bought Vanessa a $4.4M house in the Hollywood Hills. If the photo above matches the rest of the house it looks like a pretty cool house. I wonder what else she is getting.

ReplyDeleteParisSucks - Back in the day, when they were very much together as a family unit, I had read something somewhere (probably online - so you know it's true!) that they actually spend more time in the states than most people realized. They were just very very good at going around incognito and sneaking into and out of places.

ReplyDeleteThe kids go to school in LA and have done for a few years. Mama has to live in LA at least during the school year. The house in the South Of France is a holiday home.

ReplyDeleteJohnny Depp is a non-materialistic person who happened into a role that made him a fortune. Vanessa is the mother of his children, and he's NOT A TIGHTWAD. That house allows better access for the kids to their mother AND father, and I think it's lovely and practical.
If he officially cheated on her, at least he is a stand-up guy in their separation, and not bitterly fighting for his pennies.
That's a lovely home. Very generous of him.

well if nothing else, she IS the mother of his children. and he desn't want them to have a dim view of him. maybe, if you have tons of money it feels good to provide something "extra". hipefully they have at least a fondness for each other.

ReplyDeleteI read in a mag in my doctor's office that Vanessa has long wanted breakout stardom in the States and that that's where some of her frustration was from - no one in the US knows who she is unless they know her as JD's wife. That and something about wanting JD to support her extended family.
Maybe the back yard butts up against Depp's place. It's the Mick Jagger way of breaking up with the mother of your kids & still get to watch them grow up. After Jagger & Jerry split he bought the townhouse next door to the one he moved out of & when Jerry was out of town he knocked open the shared wall & had a door put in. So all his kids had to do to visit dad was to go through a door in their house. That's what money can do for you.
