Long time lurker - first time poster (w the time difference I'm usually way too late to join the fun)... Anyhoo, I would have just loved it if Steve Buscemi had won - I think he is just fab in Boardwalk Empire - but good on Damian, he was pretty darn amazing in Homeland.

DeleteIm still so sad Peter Dinklage didn't win. He makes Tyrion so damn likeable, even though he is trying to basically get rid of all the characters I love. GOT (and the books) are so wonderful, i spent my weekend sick as a dog and i watched every episode.
ReplyDeleteI still haven't watched Homeland OR Breaking Bad but Ive heard a lot of good things about both shows so I'm sure those are deserved wins. Damian Lewis is my favorite ginger (Sorry Conan) and he was incredible in Band of Brothers.

DeleteI can't watch award shows any more - they're just popularity contests. How many other professions have self-adoring awards like these? Nursing? Small business owner? Factory worker? Waiter/waitress? Just industries who can publicize the awards - entertainment, journalism, writing.

Happy for Homeland, it's a great show and Game Change was a great movie and deserve the wins but the winners in all the comedy categories feel stale and done, there were better choices!

Cryer got the "2nd banana" award. He was great in the early years of the show, last year they gave him the crappiest, most moronic things to do and he did them, he deserves the award just for enduring Charlie, Chuck & Ashton.

I felt like I needed a pencil and notepad to keep track of all the actresses who have made poor facial augmentation choices. And don't get me started on their boob management skills - some of those dresses are NOT getting the job done!

ReplyDeleteI'm in love with Game of Thrones but felt the second season was a little rushed. Season one stayed so true to book one, yet season 2 which follows book two veered off and the quality ( IMHO ) dropped a bit. I hear they are doing 2 seasons for book 3 which is perfect. Besides by the time book 6 comes out HBO might be out of source material!
My boyfriend went to high school with Aaron Paul from breaking bad. Congrats to him for winning best supporting actor. He said he was going to Hollywood to make it big and he did!

ReplyDeleteI wish Jared Harris won for his performance in the "Commissions and Fees" episode of Mad Men. That episode effected me so much after watching it. I felt a slight bit of depression from watching it and to have that happen from a TV show says a lot to me.
