Charlotte Ross Says She Was Sexually Assaulted

Glee actress Charlotte Ross says that she was at a dinner party with friends and returned back to the house where she was staying in Aspen, Colorado. A man she met at the dinner party followed her back to the house and made some moves on her. Charlotte said that she turned away the man and told the male owner of the house where she was staying about the incident. Charlotte decided to call the police and they took a report. Charlotte said in the report that it was the closest she has ever been to being sexually assaulted in her life. Police tried to follow up on the complaint but Charlotte decided not to go through with it and says now she blames it on the man being drunk. Not an excuse for assaulting someone. If it happened, report it and follow up.

  1. I used to watch her on Days of Our Lives when I was a kid. I was shocked to see her play a teenager's mom on Glee. I'm showing my age.
I'm very sorry for what happened to her.

Being "the closest I've ever been to being sexually assaulted" is not being assaulted.

  3. I hope she changes her mind. This guy needs to learn that he can't get so out-of-control-drunk where he uses such bad judgment as to sexually assault someone.

  4. Syko - good point. Was she sexually assaulted, or was she not? What does "made some moves on her" mean? Did he try to kiss her a couple times, or was he forcing himself on top of her and trying to tear her clothes off?

  5. Huh? basically, one drunk person made moves on another drunk person, was rebuffed and left.

  7. I agree with @dude, then I think about how disgusting Hollywood is and I think somewhere in the middle is a therapy session and some free press.

  8. Anytime a person is violated or threatened they should report it. It makes me sad that if she truly felt either of the above she backed off and didn't follow through with the charges.
At best, it sends a mixed message.

  9. Why report it in the first place if you aren't going to press charges????

  11. This article says nothing, other than a man got drunck and was turned down by a woman. Where have I seen this before???

  12. When I saw the headline, I read it as Charlotte Rae. Now that would have been noteworthy!

  13. An annoying and unsettling thing to have happen. Interesting photo to select to go with this non-story about near-miss sex assault.

  14. Yes RenoBlondee! She was Eve on DOOL. I wanted to be her so bad. She had the best hair on daytime TV. Blair Warner had the best hair in primetime.

Sounds like some creepy asshole followed her home and tried to get her to do the drunky no pants dance..she was obviously uncomfortable and afraid enough to do the report but the guy is most likely either connected or friends with someone connected..

  17. It is absolutely her right to decide whether or not she wants to press charges and I will not judge her for her decision.

  19. She was on NYPD blue too. She is a really good actress, I was always surprised she didn't get more roles. I don't watch glee though and didn't know she is on it. I am a fan of hers but not a fan of the victim blaming when no one here knows what actually happened. Misogynist much?

  20. I can tell you why she didn't pursue it and it's because everyone would say, well nothing happened really and then that a-hole would walk around thinking that pushing yourself onto someone was perfectly okay. Guess a girls gotta get sexed up before it's real. Seriously it is a fine line but it's still not okay.

  22. One guy at work has raised his voice to me twice without provocation. I have done two incident reports, spoken to my boss. He yelled at me predecessor, also a woman. After my two incidents, he yelled at a female customer in her home, in front of her husband. She rand and complained. I was asked to write a letter detailing my issues. I did this. He was supposed to write a letter, we were supposed to have a meeting. Hasn't happened. What did happen is he got a weekend in Melbourne with one of the other guys after all of the above. I have stated that the next time there is a weekend away, I will be going. In my letter I also wrote that the next time he raises his voice to me, I am going to the police. I also informed my boss that while I would be professional, I would no longer speak to him at a personal level. It is hello, goodbye, any work that needs to be discussed, but absolutely no personal interaction. Both times he raised his voice to me, the boss and manager were out of the building. Such a coward. I never raised my voice back, but I let my boss and the manager know that I don't like to be left in the building alone with him, which has happened a number of times since. I have no issue with walking off site if he does anything again. I have also made copies of my reports and have them at home to take to the police. A lot of men act like this because they get away with it over and over again. Don't blame the victim.

  23. Sherry is exactly right.

When I worked at a hotel, a guest or an opportunist walked into a room a housekeeper was cleaning and took her by surprise. While SHE was apologizing for being startled, the man threw her on the bed and started groping her. She screamed like crazy, and other housekeepers came running so see what was going on. He fled, and once she composed herself, she and the other housekeepers went to tell management.

And they said, "Thank God nothing happened!"

In the minds of many people, sexual assault requires things to go beneath the clothing. There are levels and degrees of assault, sure, and the housekeeper indeed was fortunate it didn't go further, but no one sane could call what happened to her "nothing."

  24. Assault is the reasonable fear of imminent battery. Battery is when they actually touch you. She has legit case to say assault.
