Bonnie Franklin Has Cancer
A spokesperson for Bonnie Franklin, the actress who starred for almost a decade as the mother of Mackenzie Phillips and Valerie Bertinelli in the show One Day At A Time has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Franklin made a cameo on Valerie's new show Hot In Cleveland when she played the mother of Valerie's boyfriend. Bonnie is 68. I hope she pulls through.

Every time I see her I want to say "Julie! Barbara!" in an overwhelmed and frustrated tone.
Cancer is a bitch, especially pancreatic. Isn't this the cancer Patrick Swayze had? Best wishes to you Bonnie. I hope you pull through!
Pancreatic cancer seems to be a death sentence. I really hope the best for her - I loved that show as a kid.
Again with the f*cking cancer. I wish her peaceful recovery.
And i wish cancer would go back to hell and stay there.
That is indeed the cancer Patrick Swayze had. Sending positive energy her way
Pancreatic is a fast killing cancer; usually kills you within 3-4 months. Sad.
I've been enjoying her on Young & The Restless the past few weeks. But, y'all are right. Sadly, pancreatic cancer is a death knell.
My BFFs mom lost her battle with pancreatic cancer about 9 months after her diagnosis. It was heartwrenching to see what cancer did to her and her body. Absolutey horrible =(
She's also been doing a terrific job on "Young and the Restless." I'll put her on my prayer list. I remember when she was in "Applause" on Broadway.
She's great on Y&R as the subtle nun. Wish her the best. Sads.
Oh no, I lost a good friend to this one it's evil...
Bonnie I wish you well...
She's so young! She must not have really been old enough (in real life) to be their mothers on ODAAT.
She just has to learn to take things one day at a time....
I just got the sad news that a favorite uncle was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. I wish her the best.
Hugs Stephani, huge hugs. I lost my favorite Uncle to cancer as well.
I saw this on GMA this morning, very sad news. I wish you well Bonnie.
Hugs to everyone who lost someone to Cancer, or has a love one battling cancer, and hugs to all of us who survivied cancer.
There have been several breakthrough treatments & research for pancreatic cancer in the past year. I hope Bonnie gets to benefit from them.
That's too bad - she has such a sparkly smile (for lack of a better adjective). Hope she does well.
Best of luck to her, hope she can beat it...
Hugs to you stephani! Cancer is a bitch
pancreatic cancer took my dad out at 69 within 9 months. It is one of the fastest killing and least funded diseases for research and cure.
Unless you catch it at stage 1 and get the whipple procedure and even then only gives max 5 years to live. Most are diagnosed at stage 4 and it is a horrible way to die wasting away.
Fuck you cancer.
My prayers for her. If anyone can beat this, it's Bonnie. I agree with all who said she was terrific as a nun on Y&R. She was totally believable and she's Jewish! She looks great, too, for 68.
Pancreatic Cancer is the most deadly. No One recovers from it sadly. (see Joey Ramone, Steve Jobs, Patrick Swayze)
I'm sad to hear this. I loved her on ODAAT. Hope she has the best of care and isn't in pain. Cancer sucks.
Pancreatic cancer can f&cking suck it.

fucking cancer.
hoping for the best for Bonnie
I always loathed her on One Day at a Tine but I'm very sorry she has cancer. Nobody deserves that.
I think it has a 4% survival rate. If I was diagnosed, I'd skip the treatment, live life to the fullest for as long as I could, then contact the Hemlock Society.
