Today's Blind Items - A List Racists
Apparently when organizations that are tied to Neo-Nazi causes need money you would think they would be out of luck with what is considered a very liberal Hollywood. Not so. There are at least two A list movie actors who are huge contributors to several of these organizations and who would cease to exist f not for the generosity of these A listers. Each of them has given well over $2M to the organizations. One of the organizations is basically a front for the KKK but just have a more politically correct name. Others are more of a para-military save yourself from the onslaught of minorities type organizations. One of the actors is A+ list. Only movies now, but not so back in the day. Whenever he has been forced to work with anyone of color he makes it clear there needs to be some distance between himself and that person. He has turned down several great roles simply because they would have required him to work more with people of color. He likes his projects to be lily white. He has even told his wife and kids that he will never speak to them again if they bring home anyone who is of color.
The second one...Mel Gibson?
ReplyDeleteIt takes all kinds, even in Hollywood. Hope these people are revealed. Really? In this day and age?
ReplyDeleteGreat guess Maximus. Hope these will be revealed.
ReplyDeleteyeah I like Mel for #2...huh #2...
ReplyDeleteObviously Mad Mel for #2.
ReplyDeleteI would say Clint Eastwood for #1, but he works with Morgan Freeman.
Lint eastwood's wife is half black
DeleteYes, and watch Gran Torino. Not lily white!
DeleteCheese-N-Rice! What a couple of freaks. TWBR please!
ReplyDeleteCan't be Mel. There were four Lethal Weapon movies.
ReplyDeleteGross and shameful.
ReplyDeleteObviously, Mel is one of these people, and I agree he's #2. (He's #2 is oh-so-many ways.)
ReplyDeleteMel can't be #1, but #2 does associate and work with black people.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but it doesn't say that Actor 2 won't work with other races like it does for Actor 1
ReplyDeleteOh, oh! Mr. Kottah! Mr. Kottah!
ReplyDelete#1 - Chuck Norris
#2 - Mad Mel
#1 Harrison Ford?
ReplyDeleteI think Danny Glover was in Witness but they had few scenes where they actually had to be in the same room.
What about Bruce Willis for #1?
ReplyDeleteHis new wife is not white.
Delete# 2 is clearly Mel, how can it not be, the description is perfect of his career trajectory and drinking issues.
ReplyDeleteJeremy Irons and THIS I know for fact
ReplyDeleteList of Republican celebs.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.ranker.com/list/actors-republican-actor-and-conservative-actors-list/famous-conservatives?page=1
Don't forget the Democrats:
DeletePaltrow
Sinatra
Ted Danson
Roseanne
@ Vicki - Chuck has some very conservative views, but he had a black co star on Walker Texas Ranger for its entire 8 year run, so that does not fit with the description, along with the fact he is not A list.
ReplyDelete#2 John Cusack
ReplyDeleteI dont have a guess for #1, but Mel for #2. Please reveal this so I can boycott their work.
ReplyDelete@MontanaMarriott, Jeremy Irons still does TV, so that means he's unlikely #1. Also, he is foreign born and has an Oscar, both of which Enty would have likely mentioned.
ReplyDelete@Sparkwee, Cusack is a Democrat and has written about his political views for HuffPo.
ReplyDeleteWell JI may not be one of the two listed above but I had a nasty run in with him at an event and he is definitely not into people of color at ALL
ReplyDeleteYeah Vicki because we Republicans are racists...
ReplyDeleteAmen. I was about to say the same thing, although politically, I now consider myself more independent. But way to stereotype.
DeleteActually, they've both worked with black co-stars. A+ just makes it clear that there has to be some distance between him and the actor; he has turned down projects.
ReplyDeleteHe came from television and is now A+ in movies, and while he has appeared with black co-stars, there will be relatively few of those and more all-white casts. He has a wife and kids.
Who???
A- pretends to have no issues and lots of black friends. Mel was definitely A+ back in the day and still has name recognition. He is dating. He sound like a nut. He fits A-.
Oh great, here we go.
ReplyDeleteDon't even start bitching about "OMFG!! How can you hypocrites even THINK they're Republicans?! I'm soooo offended!!!!!!" Fuck you, the people in this blind are Republicans.
Go fuck yourself.
Oinky oink
DeleteRussell Crowe?
ReplyDeleteI have posted occasionally on this site for over two years and have read it for that long. Great job on driving off another. Goodbye.
ReplyDeleteTom Hanks for #1??
ReplyDeleteYeah, #1 reads like it's Clint, but that doesn't explain his wife, she's of Hawaiian, African American, and Japanese American descent.
ReplyDeleteFor #2 I'm also on the Mel wagon.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteRussell Crowe is part aboriginal
ReplyDelete# 1 is not Clint Eastwood. I have some clients who are friendly with him/know him and it just isn't him. His projects also are not "lily white", otherwise he would not have chose to direct and star in Gran Torino with many Koreans.
ReplyDeleteHis wife is half black
DeleteCould #1 be Tom Hanks? Didn't he have that whole black face mini-scandle a while back?
ReplyDeleteI remember Danson doing @ Whoopi's roast and she defended him against the criticism?!?!
DeleteMy first thought was Tom Hanks. He did start on TV. Has he been in anything with black people? Other than Forest Gump? What about his kids? I know did a rap song or something.
ReplyDeleteEnty has described these individuals as the antithesis of liberal Hollywood. If they are not liberal, that means they are conservative. Conservative is usually equated with being a Republican.
ReplyDeleteThat's not to say liberals can't be and aren't racist, but based on the way this is written, the implication is that these are conservative individuals.
So maybe Enty has the political slant. There are plenty of white liberals in Hollywood who are racists to the bone, just look at how Blacks are portrayed.
DeleteI was think Clooney for #1 till the wife/kids comment.
ReplyDeleteYou know, not all Republicans are racist and not all Democrats are not racist.
1. Arnold Schwarzenegger - he's from Austria/Germany area and I bet this is him.
ReplyDelete2. Mel Gibson
Jingle all the way. No way. His dad was a nazi tho, so not a bad guess.
Deletehis father was a nazi? :/ wow never knew that
DeleteCan we throw in charlize theron, she's from S. Africa
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteClooney has dated black women.
ReplyDeleteI keep wanting to say Johnny Depp for #1. His movies are all mostly white people. Blow and the rumor abt him dating holly Robinson peete make me question it, but he has that weird obsession with military weapons. I could see him doing this. Plus I think the wife/kids thing is a hint. Why would a husband tell his wife not to bring someone home, regardless of what race? It's either an open relationship or they're broken up.
ReplyDeleteI agree w Mel for 2.
These need to be revealed ASAP. This sort of activity should not be tolerated by society. And Vicki Cupper... YOU ROCK.
ReplyDeleteInteresting guess about Hanks for #1. Despite his co-starts and Democratic ties, I don't think it's that farfetched. We always seem to assume he has a secret life (polygamy) and a nasty side.
ReplyDeletePlease reveal this Enty!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteTom Hanks is pretty liberal actually: he supports same sex marriage, has given money to democratic candidates, was EXTREMELY vocal against proposition 8, and even went so far as to create a video announcing his endorsement of barack obama in 2008.
ReplyDeletedont think he would be #1. doesnt make sense.
Co sign with Patty but yeah, #2 does sound like Mel.
ReplyDeleteBefore cerain people on here have a nervous breakdown can we at least acknowledge that this type of despicable thinking runs both ways? I do seem to recall a blind on here not so long ago leaning toward Denzel Washington making some nasty comments about working with white people.
ReplyDeleteI wish ALL of these racist people could be revealed so we could make the choice to stop paying to see their movies.
I wouldn't be surprise if Denzel made those comments. You need to maintain a certain temperment when around whites because they will test you. There are lots of bios written by Black entertainers detailing their moments of insensitivity in LIBERAL Hollywood.
DeleteWondered how long this comment would take... Jeez. One random black racist is not the same as when its white people that largely control everything. Again. Jeez.
DeleteThis is why Martin Luther King was a hero, because he talked about working together and loving each other, not creating escalating cycles of hate.
DeleteThat serves no one, and as soon as you begin to demonize and dehumanize large groups of people, you lower yourself to the level of the people described in the original blind items.
Hatred is for losers.
Could #1 be John Travolta?
ReplyDeleteArnold had a kid with a hispanic woman...
ReplyDeleteAnd our racist forefatherfucked their slaves on the downlow. So what's your point?
DeleteJust because someone is a Republican, doesn't make them racist!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat about Michael Douglas for # 1?
ReplyDeleteTom Hanks was in that horrible movie with one of the Wayans bro's. He looked like a cross between Mark Twain and Colonel Sanders.
ReplyDeletePlus, I could Never in a million years believe he's racist. He just seems like one of the good guys.
Vicki, no, YOU fuck off. Both of your posts were entirely uncalled for. I am so sick of you and some of the other people on here acting as if Republicans are the most evil people on earth and Democrats are the source of all light and joy. Guess what? Racists come in all colors, sexes, and political persuasions. You don't have any idea if these two people are Republicans, but that didn't stop you from getting a dig in at the GOP. Earlier this week Ellen Barkin and Samuel L. Jackson both tweeted about how they basically wished Isaac would hit Tampa and kill all of the "evil" GOP people. And you have the nerve to act as if Republicans are all hateful assholes and Democrats are so caring and sensitive. Bullshit.
ReplyDeleteAgain, fuck off.
Agreed
DeleteWell said.
DeleteWell said.
DeleteClooney dated Kimberly Russell and Lucy Lui. It's not him...
ReplyDeleteokay, i REALLY HOPE I AM WRONG as i love him ...
ReplyDeletebut hear me out. what about will ferrel? i googled A-list, and the most "bankable" stars as of 2010 was a list...will ferrel was on it.
he is married with three sons. he stated on tv with SNL but has mostly stayed with movies since. ALL of his costarts/movies are primarily white ensemble casts. i honestly cannot think of a black co-star in fact.
all the stars kind of align here..?
@bessanne Michael Clarke Duncan was in Talladega Nights.
DeleteI don't think #1 is Tom Hanks - Forrest Gump, Philadelphia, The Green Mile, his new movie with Halle Berry (Cloud Atlas)....and he's a very vocal supporter of President Obama. People really want him to be a secret dickwad, it seems.
ReplyDeleteI sort of like the Harrison Ford guess for #1, but I would be so sad and disappointed in him. Who else is A+ list that might fit? Brad Pitt? Robert Downey Jr? I don't think it's either of these guys, but for some reason Harrison Ford seems plausible.
Leo & Nicolas Cage.
ReplyDeleteCage is married to an asian lady!
DeleteOoooh Will Ferrel! Good one. It would surprise me but you're right, I can't think of a single movie he's been in that has involved someone in a major role that isn't white.
ReplyDeleteI think Bruce Willis is a great guess for 1.
ReplyDeletealso--Reminder--#1 is MARRIED. leo, clooney, johnny depp do NOT work as they are not married. leo and clooney dont even have kids.
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying my guess was right, but enty has referred to Depp and paradis as married before in a blind. I just want someone to address my comment abt why a husband would warn his wife not to bring someone home. The kids I get. The wife though???
DeleteThey're either separated or in an open relationship.
He could mean bringing them home for dinner or coffee or a playdate? (I have a little one and am very much in 'playdate' mode!) he could be so damn racist that he doesn't even want non-white people in his home ever.
DeleteTexshan - very well said. There's more to bigotry than just race.
ReplyDelete#1 - Bruce Willis?
ReplyDeleteI thought of Michael Douglas, but I'm not sold. I am staunchly against it being Mel because he did ALL of those lethal weapon movies with Danny glover and has kissed black women in movies. Johnny depp has a whole lot of native American in him to try the Lilly white card. Clint Eastwood has been on record about his love of " brown sugar", hence my motther's assertion that he should have married her... Clooney and schwartzenegger have both had relations with we "lower races", and for that matter, Mel as well.
ReplyDeletetrue, but they really had very little to no interaction, am i right? he was mostly in scenes on the sidelines or on his own.
ReplyDeleteBruce Willis and Michael Douglas make the most sense so far for # 1. MD has made a career of being a rich white guy. No one has "whiter" movies than he that I can think of.
ReplyDeleteI'm conservative. I live in a Democrat infested backwater and the racism is stunning. Don't equate being conservative with being racist. Too, too cliche.
ReplyDeleteCara- Harrison ford rung a bell in my head too
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteand he has worked with people of color before, but made the contact very minimal.
ReplyDeleteNo, being a Republican certainly does NOT make you a racist. However, there is an overwhelming number of racists in the GOP party and that is something you can't deny. If the non-racist Republicans are so offended by the accusations, maybe it's time to take your party to task over it.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing Michaeld Douglas and Harrison Ford
ReplyDeletei dont think its harrison ford, he is quite against violence actually, so supporting para military groups for him doesn't make sense:
ReplyDelete"In 2003, he publicly condemned the Iraq War and called for "regime change" in the United States. He also criticized Hollywood for making violent movies, and called for more gun control in the United States"
michael douglas could make sense, maybe thats why his kid is so effed up.
im still not convinced it isnt will ferrel either though...
This works both ways, there are Black actors who feel the same way about Whites...
ReplyDeleteBut that said I've also read there are plenty of actors who appear to be liberal and in truth are right wing...
For me it's hard to understand racial prejudice, I was raised in a liberal New York family and my grandmom helped register black voters in the 60's for as long as she was well enough.
As I've said before my best friend is mixed and from where I sit I have the most incredible bestie on the planet I trust her with my life..
When you care about a person race is a very small thing.
I feel sorry for anyone who is so narrow so limited, it's their loss.
^ But Harrison Ford is married. # 2 dates. Mel seems to date Eastern Europeans exclusively, and while he may pay for that company, he can rest easy knowing they are probably "clean."
ReplyDelete@texshan, well said.
ReplyDelete1. Michael Douglas or Will Ferrel.
ReplyDelete2. Mel Gibson
I must've missed something. I don't see anywhere that anyone said "all Republicans are racists". What I do see is Enty saying the subjects of his blind are not liberals thus implying they are from the other side of the spectrum.... It's seems to me that Vicki was being helpful and providing a list of possibles for us to use to narrow down our guesses.
ReplyDeleteSo in conclusion, get your Republican panties out of a wad and quit thinking everything is about you. If you need to rant somewhere about how the poor Republicans are getting a bad rap, head to Fox News.
Signed,
Also from Texas (please quit making us look bad)
Schwarzenegger is an interesting possibility for A+. He got his start in body-building - he may have done some TV too - but the blind does not say what A+ did before movies.
ReplyDeleteIf you google his name and racist comments, you get results. A white male racist would have no problem screwing a woman of color, so the fact that he got the housekeeper pregnant doesn't prove anything.
[I feel kind of dirty suggesting anyone is racist just based on their politics and A-rating.)
I hope these are revealed.
Well Clint Eastwood is on this list of hollywood republicans
ReplyDeletehttp://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/1311976/posts
I initially thought Tom Hanks for some reason but he is a know liberal, supporter of same sex marriage, etc. I agree with what others have said that republicans don't equal rascists. I think it would be very atypical and exceptional if a rascist was also liberal politically as the democratic party is more supportive of equal rights for minorities whether it be race, gender, sexual orientation.
@txtommom, take a chill pill and get real about who SOME of your fellow republicans are
Long time lurker first time poster. Be gentle!
@txtommom (bye!)and chewysmama and Texshan - I've known and worked for racists and bigots. Not one was a democrat. They were all Republican.
ReplyDeleteSo it would be foolish of me to believe all Republicans are racists. I know many who are not, but not to believe that most if not all racists are Republican or even beyond right-wing. Sorry, but that has been my experience.
I love/hate Will Ferrel guess but hit's pretty spot on for #1, but I have a hard time buying the comedy community putting up with that kinda attitude.
ReplyDeleteI like Mel for #2 but it seems too easy!
Can't well a get along? {{in my best Rodney King voice}}
ReplyDeleteWhy can't #2 be Charlie Sheen? Charlie likes benders and I would not put it pass him to say some racially tinged comments.
I can't think of who #1 is but I'll go with Harrison Ford. I don't remember acting along minorities except in Witness with Danny Glover.
@silveronyx, I take it mean the wife and children are not allowed to have any friends who are of color. Someone that controlling would be unlikely to have an open relationship.
ReplyDelete@silverOnyx-- i think it could mean just bringing anyone home. a lot of these guesses actually have younger children, it could be bringing home friends, assistants, nannies..
ReplyDeleteso i dont think he meant bringing home another man, but more so allowing people of color INSIDE his house. if you are that much of a bigot, i could see someone having an issue with having people in their house.
at least that was my interpretation...feel free to disagree :)
#2 sounds like it must be Mel
ReplyDelete#1- it's actually frightening when you think about it how many A+ actors have had extremely lily white careers. It's vague enough that it could be quite a few people. Early tv is a good clue and Will Ferrell and John Travolta both fit that pretty well. Michael Douglas and Harrison Ford not as much.
Charlize just adopted a black baby....
ReplyDeleteMiss Crop-- i love Charlie Sheen for number 2. its pretty well known that mel gibson is racist towards some...but the blind could very well be someone that is not known to be a bigot at all.
ReplyDeletei could see it. benders work, and his a-list has slipped due to the whole 2 1/2 men fiasco, but definitely has name recognition.
Thanks, Christina, Susan, and Glitter. I regret my use of the "f" word, but I just saw red when I read Vicki's second post.
ReplyDeleteThe worst racists I ever saw in my life -- and I live in Texas -- were black attendees at an NAACP convention in NYC in 1987. My family and I were staying in the same hotel as a lot of them, and the way they treated the black staff was terrible. They called the bellhops "boy" rather than by their names, they snapped their fingers at other POC to get their attention and then spoke very rudely to them, and we saw one of them screaming at a black waitress that he was going to "get her nigger ass fired." My father stepped in to try to calm the jerk down, and he yelled at my dad that he was "going to bust his cracker ass" if he (my dad) didn't mind his own business. It was the only time I ever saw my dad nearly get into a fight with someone. My family and I were appalled at their attitude and behavior. And again, we live in freakin' TEXAS and my mother is from Kentucky. We'd never seen anything like it.
J-co, I do deny it. I don't think being a racist has anything to do with one's political party.
Err, Vicki said that since these people are racists, they MUST be Republicans. That is absolutely wrong and insulting.
Also, nowhere did Enty say that these people were Republicans or even not liberal. He just said that there are two people who give to racist organizations in very liberal Hollyweird.
Michael Douglas got his start on The Streets of San Francisco with Karl Malden, late sixties, early 70's TV.
ReplyDeleteI would have thought with Charlie Sheen's penchant for call girls that if he were a racist that would be known.
Mel Gibson is too easy a guess, and I don't think Chuck Norris is A-list.
ReplyDeleteVicki, thanks for bringing your screaming liberal politics into every discussion on every topic. Maybe you should go look at Twitter today and see what others in the party you so proudly wave a flag for are saying about Condi Rice.
Not John Travolta. He did pulp fiction with Samuel Jackson.
ReplyDeleteNot Will Ferrell. He still does TV. He does funny or die.
#2 - Definitely Mel.
#1 - I'm still thinking
i don't think i want to know. so, what part of 'melting pot' is confusing?
ReplyDeletemr. eggs and i were having a discussion during the parade of competitors olympic opener how most countries, ethnically, are starting to blend. it made us hopeful that maybe our kids wouldn't 'get' racist behaviour, but with parents like these two wonderful examples of tolerance and acceptance, they are probably going to have to put up with their own share of bigoted jerks. *sigh* maybe their kids will figure it out
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI've met a few racist Democrats.
ReplyDeleteTimes that number by ten and you'll get the number of Republican racists I've met.
However, I don't assume anyone is a racisit or bigot until they have looked over thier shoulder before telling some offensive ass joke. Then I tell that person to fuck off. I don't tell people to fuck off because they say facts I don't agree with. That would just be rude and I was raised with manners.
So Vicki "the Rice They Rode in on" Cupper is now the arbiter of all that is good, shining and accepting in the world? Huh?
ReplyDeleteDepp attended a White House halloween party as the Mad Hatter (under Obama). Don't know think it's him.
ReplyDeleteActually Texshan, that is not what she said. It's how you chose to interpret it. While they may not be Republicans, a list of known Hollywood Republicans is a pretty good place to start when looking for the subjects. If you don't like that, maybe you should look at the party you are affiliated with.
ReplyDeleteWow Vickie...don't you have a nice vocabulary...
ReplyDeleteI personally didn't mind the helpful list of Republicans and didn't take offense to it, but jeez...
I do find it hilarious that the Yahoo guy made the joke about Republicans loving to party while black people are drowing, yet no one cares that Obama is still out stumping all over throughout the whole Isaac ordeal as well.
But racism has many forms and degrees and these disgusting excuses for human beings need to be outed as soon as possible. It infuriates me that people like this exist and claim to be "Republicans" or "conservatives." It's a joke.
And by the way....politics doesn't have to viewed as a straight line with liberals on the left and conservatives on the right. In my opinion, it is more of a circle. Liberals on the left, conservatives on the right, moderates on the top and radicals at the bottom. I believe radicals whether liberal or conservative are much more alike than they are different, so they really should be at just about the same place on the spectrum.
To me radicals on both sides can only see things their way and have no tolerance for other points of view. The more you have tolerance, the closer you are to center. The less tolerance you have the more you start looking like the person you think you have nothing in common with!
Mel's father belongs to some extreme form of christianity, he hates everyone.
ReplyDelete@MissCrop - How could you forget Llando Calrisian? My inner (and outer) nerd is crying.
ReplyDeleteAlso - racism comes from people all over the political spectrum, but I can't say that I'm surprised that people equate racism with the GOP. Over the years, the overall platform of the party has moved so much more towards the radical side of issues, and the whole issue of Birtherism just stinks of blatant racism. That's not to say that every "Birther" is a Republican, or that every Republican is a radical right-winger, because that is 100% not the case. It's far too complicated and complex to be discussing on a celeb gossip blog, anyway!
Mark Walberg for #1. He has a history.
ReplyDeleteOMG...I was just about to say. Mark Walberg for #1
ReplyDeleteFunky bunch? Brothers, manager of nkotb, film with the rock hmmm not sure
Deleteomg you guys lay off Vicki, seriously it's the internet... take it all with a grain of salt and get over yourself.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.thepoliticalgirl.com/2012/01/photo-of-the-day-michelle-obama-johnny-depp-at-2009-white-house-halloween-party.html
ReplyDeleteI'm a Republican. Does that mean you are calling *me* a racist? Additionally, because I am a Republican, are you in effect, telling me to fuck off because I'm a Republican?
ReplyDeleteRacism transcends political parties. I've known Democrats and Liberals who are racist (and some who are not); however, I'm too realistic to cite that all Demoncrats are racists. I would never 'color' all Democrats with such a broad political paintbrush.
"Demoncrats"
DeletePeople who use idiotic terms like this (on both sides) are why political discourse in the US is at a third grade level.
im on board with mark walhberg--started as a musician so that fits perfectly.
ReplyDeletethis is in his wiki bio:
"At 15, he harassed a group of black school children on a field trip by throwing rocks and shouting racial epithets.[10] When he was 16, Wahlberg approached a middle-aged Vietnamese man on the street and, using a large wooden stick, knocked him unconscious (while calling him "Vietnam fucking shit"). He also attacked another Vietnamese man, leaving him permanently blind in one eye."
If number 1 wasn't married, I would say Sean Penn.
ReplyDeleteI don't who these two are but they are disgusting and I hope this one is revealed.
I'm from the south, a lot of people were orginally aligned with Democratic values and well...Jim Crow.. If anyone is really into politics and I ain't one of them) you will see how the parties have totally changed places. Once Republican was more like the Demo if today and vice versa. No one political party has a license to racism and even though I chose to use my land of upbringing as an example, no one reagion stakes a claim either. Sorry kids, sweeping generalities will always get you in trouble. Love you Vicki but I think you were a bit rash this time.
ReplyDeletePlanktonic i think you're onto something with marky mark. He has some tv credits in 1993 and do awesome music videos count as tv? Also, yes, violent rascist attacks when he was a kid.
ReplyDeleteWrr, this is exactly what Vicki wrote:
ReplyDelete"Don't even start bitching about "OMFG!! How can you hypocrites even THINK they're Republicans?! I'm soooo offended!!!!!!" Fuck you, the people in this blind are Republicans. Go fuck yourself."
How is that NOT saying that since these people are racists, they are Republicans? You lack reading comprehension skills.
And, as I have said numerous times before on this blog, I am not a Republican. You choose to see the GOP as a group of closed-minded racist bigots because it suits you to do so. That doesn't mean they really are.
Lets throw peanuts at the animals. 'nuff said
ReplyDeleteGot it to everyone who offered a alternative. I guess I forget people are seriously THAT ignorant/whatever horrible word describes that behavior. That's ridic and very sad.
ReplyDeleteSorry, Err, not Wrr. Cold meds kicking in.
ReplyDelete@Texshan, I loved that last paragraph.
ReplyDeletethe blind doesnt say he started on tv, it just said back in the day not so much (in reference to only movies now) so marky mark would fit!
ReplyDeleteas for my two cents about this whole republican/democrat/racism situation we have going here...
my fb, my twitter, my life, my work, and almost all aspects of my life right now are bursting with politics, harsh words and criticsim or others views. lets not let it invade CDAN as well? this was my haven to just read and talk about crazy hollyweirdos!
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteIs Mark Wahlberg really A+ for acting? Also, he has appeared in and produced a lot of tv shows recently. Although it's nasty he did that as a kid...
ReplyDeletelol@ idiot watcher
ReplyDeletewhat political party do people who say things like "the rice you rode in on" affiliate with I wonder?
#1 is clearly Miley Cyrus...caller her a him is clearly an attempt to throw us.
ReplyDelete#2 is Michael Cera without a doubt!
Probably a useless hint: 'Lily White'
ReplyDeleteJohnny Depp's girl is named Lily.
But doubt it's him.
@Sherry. Very nicely put.
ReplyDelete:: Calling BS. Enty took a TMZ story... Added a dash of crap and birthed a blind. He's taking off for a long weekend... And you guys will still be ripping each other up for another 600 plus post rant while he's off trying to get laid. This is empty and pointless. Just stop.
ReplyDeleteThe phrase "lily white" made me think of Johnny Depp's daughter Lily. I have never heard him being a racist, but then again you never know.
ReplyDeleteI agree nr 2 sounds like Mel Gibson but doesn't he exclusively date darkhaired Russian or Italian women? Don't know if they count as being "of color" but if he was that sensitive maybe he should stick to aryan blondes.
Al Pacino
ReplyDeleteIce Angel, you're close to getting a stalker in me. Thanks for injecting some sense into this mess.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sick of this political insulting crap that finds it's way onto almost every comment board here. Chill out. I wish there was a moderator on this board to take care of vicious and belligerent posts.
Ah well- onto the guesses.
#1- Jared the Subway guy
#2- Ronald McDonald
#1 is Jeremy Irons, The Borgias is on HBO and is such a flop that it's nearly forgotten by critics and audiences alike. He and his wife have an open marriage. His most recent movie with a black actor is The Words with Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana... he shares no scenes with her that do not also have BC in them and very little dialogue between him and ZS. Before that, he hasn't worked in a non-lily-white production in nearly 20 years.
ReplyDelete@Texshan, doing the Orson Welles clap for you here. Many thanks for speaking up :)
ReplyDeleteMark Brother did Four Brothers with Tyrese and Andre 3000 of Outkast. Doubt he would have done that movie if he was #1 considering he has turned down roles.
ReplyDeleteMark Wahlberg not Brother
ReplyDeleteMark Wahlberg starred with Thandie Newton in "The Truth About Charlie". He had two black adopted brothers in "Four Brothers". Black co-stars in Three Kings, Boogie Nights and The Big Hit. He produces "Boarwalk Empire" which had a storline about the black community of Atlantic City getting revenge on the local KKK. I don't think this is him.
ReplyDeleteMark Walhlberg - Four Brothers, black director, mostly black cast (four brothers from the same mother, two blacks, two whites) => Not him
ReplyDeleteWill Ferrell just starred in Casa de mi Padre, starring an all Spanish and Mexican cast, Michael Clarke Duncan in Talladega Nights, his kids must be five and two => Not him
Michael Douglas comes a very liberal family, and I doubt that the son of the very Jewish Kirk Douglas would be a closeted racist who gives money to the KKK
Ben Stiller - ditto, and Tower Heist
@bessanne There also the matter of a little Will Ferrel movie called Casa de Mi Padre that was an almost entirely Hispanic cast.
ReplyDeleteOf course, its ridiculous to equate all republican members with racism but their representatives are the only ones actively working to change voter ID laws. This overwhelmingly affects people of color to help prevent them from voting while it's already been proven that voter fraud is statistically non-existent.
ReplyDelete@Dewie, "The Orson Welles clap":)
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, despite her "nevermore" huff, if @txtommom isn't sneaking peeks at reveals on New Year's Day I will eat 2 jalapeno peppers.
ReplyDeleteSecond, there is a difference between saying "all Republicans are racist" and saying "all racists are Republicans". The problem with the first statement is that it disrespects the party's Greedy, Shooty, and Churchy wings.
And before someone points out the recent study claiming that Republicans give more to charity, I say this: take church tithings out of the equation and then show me how the numbers stack up.

DeleteSEAN PENN shows his true Colors.
ReplyDelete@ Texshan, good for you, speaking up on this thread as you have. I spent most of my life as a Moderate Liberal, and only in the last few years came to realize "wow, I've got more in common with Conservative values nowadays than I do with Liberal ones." The intolerance, prejudice and hate I've finally (!) started noticing and paying attention to in the media and on threads such as this (and have personally experienced) directed towards Rep/Con/Christians from the self-described "embracing, accepting, open-minded and inclusive" Lib/Dem/Progressive/Left-Wing types, has been a real eye-opener for me. A day doesn't go by that some "pandering to his/her audience" celebrity doesn't make a hateful, prejudiced remark against Christianity, or Rep/Con values of some kind, and then look around to his/her twitter posse for applause. Sickening and divisive stuff, for sure...
ReplyDeleteCould we do Michael Douglas, Jeremy irons?
ReplyDeleteI am jumping on the Wahlberg train for #1 and Mel for door #2 - as for racism - both groups harbour racist colonism ideology, I am a card carrying Liberal and in my time I have come across the most racist comments and deplorable behaviour from those who attach themselves to equality and equal rights. Because of my skin colour assumptions are made regarding my financial status, my background and my intelligence. Even from those in my party - I am still a dues paying member as such, it affords me the right to speak out on policies or sweeping statements which paint all members of my racial community with the same brush. And for the love of God stop fighting - this blog is one of my delightful breaks in the day. I love the thoughful commentary and intelligent insight each of you provide me with on a daily basis. Racism is racism, Republican or Democrat, Conservative or Liberal..and in our case up in Canada NDP - gotta love a country that embraces socialism..even if I was harassed out of a job by a member of the NDP
ReplyDeleteso far no one at a Democrat National Convention has thrown nuts at a black person saying that's how we feed animals. I guess that's why republicans come to mind, rather then democrats.
ReplyDeleterecounting stories about revers racism is the worst form of racism and just one step after 'but I have black friends' remarks.
And yes there green, blue and dotted people who are rude but if one green person is rude to a green person it's just rude. if an blue person is rude to a green person because their are green, it's racism.
And I think it's Wahlberg #1 and Gibson #2.
Well, the RNC is on record for throwing peanuts at a black camera woman and shouting down a puerto-Rican delegate, like, YESTERDAY. Not to mention all those voter ID laws. So it does seem obtuse in the extreme to claim there's no correlation between party and bigotry.
ReplyDeleteHowever, some of the biggest racists on the books were old-school Dixiecrats, so no one's clean.
Anyway, I'd support Chuck Norris for one of these. The More politically correct KKK sounds like the NRA. CN is a spokesman.
Mark Wahlberg sounds like a contender for #2 in addition to Mad Mel.
@K...no, it was a spelling mistake on my part. Democrats is the correct spelling. I do admit the error...I am fallable.
ReplyDeleteMy siblings humorously call me the spelling nazi (because I'm always correcting their spelling) and now I am the one in the wrong. My apologies to all Democrats.
How the f*ck does requiring a photo ID to vote prevent POC from voting? Is there a huge dearth of driver's licenses or state IDs amongst the black or Hispanic community? Shit, you need to show a photo ID to write a check or go to the doctor. I don't think it's such a hugely onerous requirement to also show one when you vote.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dewie and Caydian.
And I think you are ALL wrong on who the answers to these blinds are. Racist #1 is clearly Betty White, and Racist #2 is obviously George Hamilton. Geez, people ...
Meh it annoys me when people jump in and defend this Vicky person.
ReplyDeleteShe writes rude and sometimes ignorant stuff, and people will protest. If she herself has a problem with the response she gets, she should learn some manners. Well she should learn some manners even if she don't have a problem with it.
Another thought about US political scene. To a european the contempt and hate that seems to exist between some parts of your 2 big partys is mindgobbeling. I stare in amazement. Isn't it exhausting?
Texshan and the rest of you - you're nothing but a bunch of bullies. I've lurked on this site for YEARS and i've seen people make comments that are 100% more derogatory than what Vicki said. Instead of telling Vicki you disagree with her, why do you feel the need to jump on her constantly? Because she has a different opinion than you? HYPOCRITE MUCH???? Guess what, people are going to have opinions that you may be offended by. Take some Desitin for the butthurt, put your big girl panties on and get the fuck over it. You condemn Vicki for her opinion, but by being a bully you are NO BETTER than she is.

ReplyDeleteFirst of all this person is a jackass.
ReplyDeleteSecond of all Hollywood isn't even that liberal, no matter what people say. They won't get near a cause if they think it will court controversy and lose them money at the box office, unless it's an Oscar bait movie. It's all about $$$$ in Hollywood, always. Polictics = second. Money = first.
Meant to write "politics", this whole post made me so pissy I had trouble.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, I'm officially finished. Like others have stated, this has been a haven for me away from the bullshit of politics. If it can no longer be that then its time to move on.
ReplyDelete@Krissie, I can totally relate :-)
ReplyDeleteTypical liberal diatribe! They can never make a point without name calling and changing the subject.
ReplyDeleteAnd Britta-Jons - I defend Vicky because I see the obvious pack-mentality bullying that commenters here employ. In the real world as an adult, when someone has an opinion that you disagree with, you talk it out like adults. You don't jump on someone and tell them to fuck off. People should be allowed to have varying opinions here. Texshan is NOT the moral police. And she is being a hypocrite, she whines about Vicki being judgmental towards Republicans, but has no qualms about attacking someone with a different opinion than hers. Do people not see the hypocrisy??
ReplyDelete@Unknown, who threw the first f-bomb in this unfortunately political commentary?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, you shouldn't be able to jump on someone and tell them to f-off.
Vicki, where in the blind does it say these people are republicans. Stop being ignorant. Racism isn't limited to one side of politics so knock it off bc you sound really stupid.
ReplyDelete@MontanaMarriott - I know that Jeremy Irons has campaigned extensively for ending hunger in the developing world (mainly brown people) and is a very vocal advocate of equality issues, so I'd be very surprised if he was one of the people here. I don't know what issues you had with him personally, but from what I've heard about him from people who were his neighbours he just doesn't seem likely as a white supremacist. I'd guess more in the direction of Michael Douglas.
ReplyDelete@unknown- what are you talking about? Vicki as the very first person who told someone to fuck off
ReplyDeleteYeah isn't Mel Gibson good friends with Whoopi Goldberg?
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to believe that actors in this day and age can be THAT racist. For #1 and #2 I'm thinking it must be people over 70 years old, who still think the KKK etc will flourish one day with their donations.
@unknown I don't agree, Vicki has posted quite alot lately, is well known and usually gets positive remarks from other posters. So if anything i would say she is the bullyer... Bullyperson? Bully...ette?
ReplyDeleteCrap, i don't know how to grammar that word in english.
Vicki is usually the one leading the pack jumping on someone else. This is the first time, except for the rice comment that anyone has called her out. Lol
ReplyDeletesouth aFrica is the countr with higher levels of acism, they used to separate black and white people and still there are many differences among them in terms lf rent and opportunities.
ReplyDeleteit has to be actors from abroad, places like germany and austriA that are still extremely racist.
Ben Stiller
ReplyDeleteOhhhh America.... Republicans, Democrats.... What a mess.
ReplyDeleteCanada isn't much better, but at least with our four parties, we don't get lost in this name-calling, pigeon-holing bull shit.
(That being said, while not all Republicans are racist, most narrow-minded cruel-hearted bigots happen to be Republican. This isn't a slag on Republicans, it's more indicative of an issue with the two party system. A new party should be created for those who chose to hate, as opposed to those who believe in the far more reasonable points for which the Republican party stands. Mel can be party leader.)
A lot of racists affiliate themselves with the GOP. But it's a case of white flight, particularly in the South.
ReplyDeleteA lot of Southerners labeled themselves as State Rights Democrats, or Dixiecrats, until 1964, which is the the Voting Rights Bill went into affect. Others lefts after LBJ signed the 1965 Civil Rights Act into law. LBJ noted that Democrats would lose the South in terms of politics for at least two generations (40 years) because of civil rights. And he's right, even today, when we deal with 2nd and 3rd generation GOPers.
It's worth noting that many Blacks considered themselves Republicans until the 1960s. Nixon may have been the last GOP president to get a fair amount of the 'black vote' in 1968 or 1972.
The Republican party also has the burden of dealing with the Tea Party, who have proven themselves to be extreme in their beliefs. The movement may not have started out that way, but that's what it represents now.
When the fanatics of any party or movement become the loudest voices in the room, there's a problem. Many of these GOPers don't even like Mitt Romney because he's Mormon, not a true Christian faith in their eyes. But he's better than having a "Muslim n*****" in the White House.
Racism is a problem for all of us, as is ageism, misogyny, homophobia, and other topics. Even on a gossip blog, we can't manage to be polite toward one another on the issues.
So why do we hold hope for our political parties? They're people, just like us, serving as the cracked mirror for our monstrous reflections.
We are our worst enemy.
I gotta agree that all this politics stuff is getting boring and i would guess it is not the reason that any of us took our first look at CDAN today.
ReplyDeleteI don't have more to say about the lind except that Sean Penn's name has popped up occasionally. I find that hard to believe. Was his whole Haiti earthquake thing just a tremendous cover for his rabid racism or a most extreme case of reaction formation as a defense? I find it hard to believe. He's not that good an actor.
All repigs are racist.
ReplyDeleteHarrison Ford?? Nah. Worked with Carl Weathers in "Force 10". The Captain in "Raiders", Bill Nunn in "Regarding Henry", The judge in "Presumed innocent" Samuel L. Jackson and James Earl Jones in the Jack Ryan movies - Billy Dee Williams in "Empire" and "Jedi" and those are just off the top of my head.
ReplyDelete@Groovy, Thank you for the insightful and deep contribution to today's dialogue. We're all the better for it.
ReplyDeleteWell, apparently Meri has deleted her own post before I could respond to it, but her saying that "The definition of conservatism is retaining traditional customs and values" (and thereby, apparently, seeking to imply that this means Conservatives are in favor or all things old and/or evil) is absurd. What is "traditional" anyway? Her implication is that Conservatives are still in favor of stuff like, eh, slavery, lynching, and chastity belts or something, I guess. Me? As a Conservative, I feel that some new(ish) ways of thinking or doing things are counterproductive and ultimately detrimental to society. For example: am I against welfare, when it helps those who want to improve their lot in life? Absolutely not. Am I against welfare for people who just want to use it indefinitely, in perpetuity, and never move past it or ever try to get ahead? Absolutely yes. If that makes me evil in Liberal eyes, so be it. I want what's best for America and for all its citizens, regardless of their race, creed, religion or socio-economic background. I do NOT want whatever the latest fad or trend or meme tells me is popular. People often don't want what's best for them. They only want what comes easiest, or feels good. Plato, in Gorgias, had a lot to say about this. Democrats, in my opinion, tend to pander to their constituency, and give them whatever will keep them happy and content. In life, you have to move past single-minded happiness-seeking and move on to duty, honor, and responsibility: self-improvement, self-sufficiency. Thrift. Industry. But as I'm getting a bit far afield, I'll shut up. I have a feeling that no matter what I (or some other here say) we're going to be dismissed as "hateful Republicans"...
ReplyDeleteAnd for the record, there are several bullies on this board. They fly off the handle, name-call, and/or accuse others of being stupid and putting words in their mouths. All of them need to pause before submitting their messages.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are my afternoon entertainment.
ReplyDeleteI say that with love. :)
