That is kind of funny. My younger brother is an evening news anchor and he LOL. I guess I was never exactly sure what "canoodle" meant either. I had to look it up. I had the right idea tho.
Unless you've read the Enquirer, why would you know what canoodling means? My guess re his Union Bay comment was about how the woman was saying whatever was going on brought people together. My stronger guess is the anchor didn't give a shit and was just saying words. That's probably what it was.
I've always known what canoodling means. But I get really tired of cutsey local newscasters - just give me the damn news and weather! I couldn't care less about your personal opinions, etc.

Omg I could not stop cringing the whole time! How mortifying!! I LOVE how the weather woman was just like "what? NO... We will not be doing that AT ALL" LOL! I feel like if this happened in the US the weather girl would have just went with it lol!
@Agent*it - yesterday afternoon I was running errands and listening to a local talk radio station with a local show - he kept talking about how you needed to get ready NOW (not that I argue with getting ready early) but he kept insisting people go fill up their tanks RIGHT NOW. I was running on fumes and HAD to fill up - had to go to 3 gas stations before I found one that didn't have a line. But that was all I needed to get ready and now it's not coming? The one time I'm NOT prepared, that'll be the time we get hit.
Lol here's a tip next time u want to try out a "new" word live on air how bout u find out the meaning first hmmm? Either a mistake or like goheels said, he got caught out and played dumb lol
As a reporter/anchor I can tell you sometimes you go in to auto pilot and then half way through you are like wtf am I saying... the way he trailed off makes me think it was one of those moments. I totally laughed.
