Random Photos Part Two

George Clooney is really starting to look older more often. That one guy is really in his space.
Geena Davis looks amazing.
So, in case you don't know all the players, the girl with the pacifier and dunking it into the Mountain Dew is Honey Boo Boo's sister Pumpkin. Yeah, well naming your kids after Halloween and candy works in this house. Anyway,
the one month old baby in the photo then repeatedly gets the Mountain Dew soaked pacifier.
Jake Gyllenhaal out promoting his new movie.
Jordin Sparks at the US Open.
Julia Stiles on a rare red carpet.
Kate Bosworth kind of looks like a Neapolitan ice cream bar.
Kate Hudson found that funny all the way over in Venice, Italy.
That is also where you will find Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber.

  3. OMG with the Mt. Dew paci. Makes me want to slap everyone in the room.

  4. Geena Davis does look incredible! And by her side, Mario Lopez in his Lavendouche shirt.

It should be illegal to give children under a certain age soda.

  5. Ah, genetics. The cycle of the generations. Pumpkin feeding that child the Dew is hope that the next level of their family tree will uphold the ways of their clan.

I just saw a commercial for Jakey's new movie - damn he looks HOT with that shaved head!

  6. Julia Stiles is so pretty. Was there ever a verdict on whether or not she played a role in Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter's divorce?

  7. Julia Stiles needs a new makeup artist. Girl is shinin'

  8. The pacifier pictures are bringing this new mom to tears. It's child abuse. Makes you just want to rescue the little thing.

Someone please take Pumpkin away and give her a better life.

  12. Wtf?
    Mountain Dew to a baby?
Seriously, ita, that should be illegal.
child endangerment. do you know what that shit is doing to his insides, not to mention his future teeth, which are already being effected.
And that baby looks awfully scrawny, like not thriving.

Since I am not a mom I don't have much experience in child rearing but, isn't the LAST thing you want to give your newborn a sugary drink with no nutritional value and makes them stay awake, when they should be resting those teeny little bodies???

  18. The whole idea that a Honey Boo Boo is a thing that exists makes me sad and angry. I've never watched any of that crap and don't understand why anyone would. Of course, where I live I see people EXACTLY like that family every time I leave my house so they lost their entertainment value for me decades ago. That poor baby has very little chance in this world. Also, not to nit pick, but I don't think that is Mountain Dew. It looks like a store brand cola. The family's handlers probably made sure that she didn't have some "high-faluten" name brand soda. Plus, down here we'd have called it a Coke. Every soda is coke. My husband and I both have college degrees (he has advanced degrees) and we still say "Get me a coke." I know that he really means Diet Pepsi. True story.

  19. I'm sorry I love Geena but everyone really thinks she's looking great?? For years everytime I see her I wince at all the fillers, I mean she's really puffy. She looks like Ashley Judd to me and has for a while :(.
Jake is a Cad. So is Leiv.
Boy.. Julia really dropped some pounds.. She's always been thin but she gained for a little while there.

  20. Poor little baby. I wonder what his/her name is?

    ReplyDelete
  21. It's name is probably Cornucopia or something holiday related.

And I haven't been able to get pregnant because of PCOS and Endometriosis, so I've been in a similar boat as you, Dena (which is also my BFF's daughter's name!)

  23. Wait. Is Honey Boo Boo her REAL NAME?! I don't watch the show so I always suspected it was just a nickname. Ugh...

    ReplyDelete
  24. Her real name is Alana but her nickname/stage name is Honey Boo Boo

  25. Kate Bosworth looks really good there considering I have feared she would die of starvation in the past.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Jordin Sparks looks great. I got to stand next to her for about 10 minutes last year for the KY Derby, she is super tall.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Not a mom here either yet and this is probably a dumb question - but how absorbent can a pacifier be? Surely the child would have only swallowed maybe a drop of the mountain dew. (NOT that I'm condoning it whatsoever. These people are obviously complete fucking idiots and horrible parents, but I'm just curious.)

  28. Guys, there's a dental phenomenon in Appalachia & the South, which is related to tons of Mountain Dew drinking in children, and throughout life. I can't remember what it's called.

As a server once, I had an 'Appalachian' type family come in with an infant, nude except for a diaper (grrr). The dad handed me an empty a baby bottle and asked.."You got any Mountain Dew?" We didn't serve it, so my only consolation in having to serve that baby soda was that it they had to settle for Sprite (no caffeine).
Soda in the baby bottle is well-known among the waiters in certain parts of the country. I never worked at Denny's but I bet a place like that serves sodas to babies all the time. People are raised that way, and have NO idea how awful it is.

(I also grew up calling everything a 'coke'. Indiana IS the 'Northernmost Southern state'.)

    1. Lib, i saw documentary about applachia that included their love affair with mountain dew. Its called," rotten teeth syndrome"! Kidding, but it is appalling, i kidded that when the mother and father put mountain dew in the 1 yr old's bottle, if your window was open you have heard the collective *gasp* accross the nation! That baby is the 16 yr olds. They are mega uneducated but i thought thef'd at least know that crap isnt for babies. Ugh. I hate when people do stupid shit like this.

  29. @Libby, it's "Mountain Dew Mouth"

  30. Thanks goheels. I could have searched, but I feared the images, haha.

  31. That can is so tall. It looks like an energy drink to me.

    ReplyDelete
  32. LOL, unfortunately, I live in an area of the country where Mtn Dew Mouth is common.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I hope that's a dock and Liev falls off the end. Naomi deserves so much better.

wish I could see all of Kate's outfit, I think I like it!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I grew up on the kind of Western edge of Appalachia, so I've seen it a lot.
I grew up drinking coke or milk, never water. It's the culture...my ancestors were well-advertised to!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Funny, i grew up drinking ice water with every meal, the idea anyone wld drink anything else was shocking to me. Its all what u get used to. But clearly, water better than soda.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I know all about the Mountain Dew mouth thing - I think Libby and I have talked about it before, even. But I cannot comprehend WHY you'd dip a baby's pacifier in a can of soda. Just to flavor it up? Was she trying to get the baby to keep it in its mouth (some babies just spit them out - side eye to my little Frufras)?

And I will say that my oldest was all scrawny like that - five weeks early and had a hard time eating. But I did NOT supplement his diet with soda!!

I'm from Texas, and we call everything a coke. Sometimes a soda, never pop, usually just coke.

  37. Pumpkin is a nickname, Enty. Also, Anna, who had the baby, is 17, not 16. I'm worried that I would even know that.

I think Geena the Genius looks fab, too.

  38. That baby should be a girl and her name should be Katelynn if everything went according to plan. I will admit I watch that show, it's like a car accident you can't look away from. I find the southern united states fascinating for some reason, completely don't know why since I live in a tiny province in Canada. I do like how the mother is so self confident about herself, but the nutrition of those children is sickening. Also, the girls all have normal names, but weird ass nicknames, like chickadee, chubbs, pumpkin and of course, honey boo boo

    ReplyDelete
  39. That's actually a 16oz can of Mountain Dew Code Red (just saw the story on Inside Edition).

  40. The look on Geenas face says "get this douche-nozzle away from me!"

  41. I've never had a neopolitan ice cream bar with bones in it.

  42. It's coke, everything is coke where I have lived. I guess that says a lot about where I reside....
(I do have a few degrees though...)

  46. There's a dental condition referred to as "Mountain Dew Mouth".....when a baby/toddler/child is given Mountain Dew on a regular basis and constant brushing doesn't take place, the teeth ROT OUT. At an appallingly young age. I worked as a volunteer at a mass dental clinic for folks without insurance a few years ago. Two of the patients who had to have all their teeth pulled had ingested Mountain Dew since their baby bottle days. One was 19, one was 21. Don't give your babies sugary soda, people! For cryin' out loud!

  47. @Megerz, Well, we won't take him to the glue factory just yet. But one of these days I'm going to need to have some old shoes repaired and um...

  48. Fascinating, Libby and you other southern belles, I have no experience about the south, and I love learning about society in different regions, and goheels, I don't know how absorbent a paci can be, but my immigrant Irish grandmother would dip ours into whiskey whenever she baby sat. It want until some of us got old enough to tell that she stopped.

  49. And lawnjart, not a new mom, but I feel you, and dena, hugs

  50. Any asshole who feeds a baby soda should be sterilized.

  51. Many many many moons ago I was a dental claims examiner for a western state. I believe the official term is bottle caries(sp) the sugar laden drink of choice was kool aid and they'd put the baby to bed with a bottle of full of. Every so often I would have claim from a local children's hospital for two year olds who had to be treated in the OR to place an entire mouth of crowns because their teeth had rotted out.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I have never heard of this but I have seen young moms give kids bottles of koolaid or put babies to leep with a bottle of juice. This dipping the pacifer is new to me as well. I'm sure there is no one around to give decent advice to the new mom- this kid will probab;y have soda in the bottle next.
Saw Clooney on person about 5 years ago. He was gorgeous in person. He does seem to have aged a lot seemingly overnight- I think it's the hair...

  53. I just have to say that my son is nine and has not had a cavity. WATER. Kids get used to what they're given.

  54. Pacifier in cola. *face palm* And that is how childhood obesity starts! Why do people like this breed? They are never sterile! EVER! You will never see people like this Honey Boo Boo's parents with their shockingly low level of intelligence and even lower level of attractiveness, say "I can't get laid nor conceive". Nope. They always can!

  55. And did anybody else read that the baby has double thumbs?!

  56. wow, i just learned so much from these comments. the pacifier thing is disgusting and that mountain dew mouth... jesus. we don't have that problem here in Canader hehe

  60. We have the same issues in Northern Canada, it's not ignorance it's the high cost of a healthy diet a 2L bottle of milk is $14.00 - soft drinks are so much cheaper. The cost of baby formula and nutrious food is extremely expensive, the majority of health issues are diet related, the waiting list for children to have oral surgery is three years long. Poverty sucks..
