National Enquirer Blind Item

THIS actress-turned-talk-show host has become a nightmare to work with because her new chat fest, which hasn’t even aired yet, is already a complete disaster. She’s yelling and screaming at her writers and producers, she hates the set, and she’s been accusing some of her staff of setting her up for failure. Who is she?

  3. Is Jenny McCarthy's OWN gig a talk show? I can see her raging.

  4. My immediate thought was Ricki Lake. I still picture her as her character from Cry Baby, which btw is an awesome movie. But then I think that it would be too obvious if it was Ricki but then again it is a National Enquirer BI so yeah I guess Ricki Lake.

  5. I'm not buying the Ricki Lake theory. She's got experience as a successful talk-show host. She knows what will work and what won't, and she'd be ready for the reality of it.

Who's been an actress and is just doing a talk show for the first time?

  11. Ricki was not likable at all on DWTS so I'll buy it.

  12. Oops -- I had posted that the only women debuting new talk shows this fall are Ricki and Katie Couric, and since Katie's not an actress, it's gotta be Ricki. However, I just read that after parting company with OWN, Jenny McCarthy signed a deal with VH1 to host a talk show that's supposed to start sometime this year, so it could be her.

  13. Bethanny's talk show has already aired... and did quite well in selected markets over the summer. Not her.

  14. Is Jenny McCarthy the one who is/was doing a show about living on a ranch?

  15. Suzanne Somers has a new talk show this fall, and we all know about her diva tendencies (RE: increase-my-salary-on-"Three's-Company"-or-I-just-won't-show-up-to-film).

  16. Bring back Dark Shadows!

  17. Someone somewhere else mentioned Leah Remini and I think it's a better guess. Like previously stated, ricki had her own talk show forever!!!! *ring ring* " uh oh who's the door..." haha loved that show (embarrassing but true)

  19. GP, suzanne somers wasn't a diva, she just wanted more money. that's not diva behavior. if it were a man doing that they'd call him a good negotiator.

now suzanne somers is laughing all of the way to the bank, as she is a billionaire. if her acting career had gone better, she might not have tried the alternate avenues.

  20. Somers's book AFTER THE FALL is an absolutely perfect book, let me say. I read it after some upheavals in my life and it helped me reorient myself, and I love her a lot for her everything.

  21. @Barton Fink
I own After the Fall and Keeping Secrets and they are some of my favorite reads. LOVE her.
And yes, she deserved to get that raise on Three's Company. Her and Joyce were earning nothing compared to John. The heads of that show were disgusting and vile to her.

  22. PER RICKI LAKE GUESSES:

I used to work with one of her closest friends AND at my current place of work we've filmed her fairly recently. All around she is a kind person, and was a super professional with us. I am very doubtful this is her.

(I just tried to post and I don't see it - so apologies if I'm posting the same comment twice!)

  25. About Suzanne Somers...so the answer is just don't show up for work and let the rest of the cast and crew suffer? THAT, my friends, is a diva, whether she deserved the money or not. sorry.

She's a phoney baloney, puppeted by Alan Hamill. It's nice that her books helped y'all, but she can still be a phoney diva independent of that.
