Natalie Portman Got Married
I was wrong. I admit it. I had heard that way back in the day that Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied were going through a tough time and the only reason they were together still was because Natalie was pregnant. Apparently they worked through that and the birth of their child probably contributed to it. I hate to see anyone, especially parents split, so great for them and Mazel tov and all of that. The couple got married last night in Big Sur at a private home. This would be as opposed to be marrying in a public home. Big Sur is not a bad place to get married. The problem was it was in the dark so you kind of lose out on the view so you might as well have got married in my basement. Of course if it was a public home then people could have just paid $5 to watch them get married. I think $5 is a fair price for a public home unless it is like Monticello or something or Mount Vernon. Do you want to pay more than $5 to see the house of Mark Twain? Great, he lived there and wrote there, but unless he has a bunch of Huck Finn paintings he drew on the wall I don't really see the point.
Too bad that kid isn't his.
ReplyDeleteWhose is it?!
ReplyDeleteEnty, you're rambling!! Lol
I read they waited until her converted and had the surgery....I wonder if that's true...
ReplyDeleteHahaha!!!! Not sure if Enty reads all the comments, but thanks for the laughs this morning..
ReplyDeleteHe looks like Joey Lawrence and she is pretty just tiny.
ReplyDeleteI doubt he would marry her if the child were not his. He's successful in his own right so he doesn't need her money or status.
ReplyDeleteI love Big Sur! Does seem retarded to get married there at night. I'd pick 10am to get married there to milk as many daylight hours as possible of that amazing piece of coast.
ReplyDeleteI think that getting married in your basement, Enty, would be even more stupendous!

I think they look a lot alike.
Thanks for the links. And by god! They look like brothers. Identical twins almost. Uncanning.
DeleteI am a little behind. Why would she have a secret baby? Please tell ?
DeleteFor those who don't know, in the Jewish faith, if you want to be married on a Saturday, it has to be after sundown, when the sabbath ends. Obviously during the summer, sundown is later in the evening. Maybe it was a candlelight ceremony.
ReplyDelete"Enty, you're rambling!! Lol"
ReplyDeleteNo kidding. He's a terrible writer who is apparently terrified of commas, among other glaring and constant mistakes.
"Does seem retarded to get married there at night."
*SIGH*
I don't even know why I come here anymore.
C'mon! Sure u do!! Lol
Deleteif you are coming here for anything but brain candy, stick with npr.org your brain will thank you.
ReplyDeletestill think the kid has a stupid name but happy for them. Some post shotgun weddings do work out.
They look cute together in that picture!
ReplyDeleteI thought they were married! Okay, then I am going with Bale/Portman for the couple with the chemistry from Enty's blind the other day. I don't care about the brief article where Portman allegedly said he was difficult to work with - you can take that any way you want.
ReplyDeleteEnty said he was wrong. Mark this historic date: August 5, 2012.
ReplyDeleteThe rest was too rambling for my hangover...
I think it's the hair that has people thinking they look alike, the features are different - it's too early to really see the nose.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like they had a low-key Jewish weddings which are sweet. You've got the breaking of the glass and the chuppah. And then the bouncing dance with the bride and groom on top of the shoulders of friends.
congrats!
ReplyDeleteand Enty, they never had trouble at this time:her pregnancy was a surprise and it was very wearying
I could totally see her marrying this guy because she didn't want to become one of those Hollywood statistics. She seems so opposite of HW starlets, you know, with the Ivy League degree and the quiet life & all. I see her having the baby & marrying the father just to "prove" she's not like the rest of the 5-minute-marriage/relationship stars.
ReplyDelete*shrug* But maybe that is all in my head & I just made the whole thing up.
Thanks for the mea culpa Enty.
ReplyDeleteGood for them and happiness to them!
Thought they were married already. Congrats to the couple! Mazel Tov!
ReplyDeleteRefreshing that they did this very privately; no big sale of wedding pictures to the media. Best wishes to the (presumably) happy couple.
ReplyDeleteYeah, they can go to big sur daytime whenever they want. Prob just wanted privacy for wedding, which is delightful actually.
DeleteYou can bet if ange and bradster get married, it wont be so private!! Shows it can be done!
I had heard that way back in the day that Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied were going through a tough time and the only reason they were together still was because Natalie was pregnant.
ReplyDeleteIs this an answer to a blind?
Did he convert for her? I guess Enty is not up on the Jewish Sabbath.
ReplyDeletethe hubby looks a bit like justin theroux to me.
ReplyDeleteThat ginger baby is not his. But he is a really cute ginger baby.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they waited until the kid was a little older to get married since babies can be a handful. Besides, they've been living together since the pregnancy, that's pretty much marriage to a lot of people, so not much of a difference whether they got married before or now...
ReplyDeleteHer son looks a lot like her dad so it is possible that her husband really is the dad.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand this thing that the baby is not his. My dad has dark skin and hair and both my older sisters were born blond with blue eyes. Needless to say that my dad's friends would make fun of him for it. Kids change. Plus, I don't see a reason for him to marry her if the kid is not his. There's this whole macho thing that guys don't really accept that kind of situation. I guess if money was an issue for him, he would just demand hush money from her...
ReplyDeleteLa chaim!
ReplyDeleteI think Enty is referring to the BI, which said that actress is waiting until Academy Awards to kick her baby daddy to the curb. She was afraid want her personal life will have impact on her Black Swan nomination.
ReplyDeleteYeah, what troubli bubble said. It's a blind from six months ago maybe? Year?
ReplyDeleteI thought they were married before this years Oscars. Wasn't she wearing a wedding band?
ReplyDeleteSeriously, ENT? Do you really think getting married means a couple has resolved all of their differences? If so, then I wish I could introduce you to my parents (unfortunately long gone). My mother once told me that she knew walking down the aisle that she was making a mistake. Unfortunately marriage is sometimes a last ditch effort to make a relationship work. We'll have to wait and see how it goes with Natalie and Benjamin, but marriage and a baby is no guarantee they'll still be together in a year (much less 25 years).
ReplyDeleteEvery day Aleph looks more and more like Darren and it's sweet karma. Love it!!
ReplyDeleteI see photos of Darren Aronofsky (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darren_Aronofsky), Natalie Portman's beautiful son, Aleph, and Rachel Weize's son, Henry, and I see a resemblance among the three..particulary the hair color, eyes and moouth. And I don't like that I see a resemblance. In the end, I hope that Natalie and Benjamin have found a way to form a loving relationship and raise a child together.
ReplyDeleteHomewreckers! Both of them. He was already in a relationship when they got together. But what goes around, comes around, right?
ReplyDeleteAKM, I cringed too.
ReplyDeleteEnd the R word. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T549VoLca_Q
uhh I thought they already quietly got married a while ago? Why have the both been wearing wedding bands for months now then?
ReplyDeleteOh and yea Rachel and Natalie practically had the same baby. Def Darren's baby. Maybe that's why Rachel left and ran away with Daniel Craig?
ReplyDeleteWasn't it just about a full moon that night? Big Sur under a full moon a weird place to get married??? Well, I guess if someone has never seen it they would not know that it is something very special. Sigh...
ReplyDeletethrow in a late night visit to the hot tubs at Eselen and you really have a party.
