MTV Officially Ends Jersey Shore

The writing was on the wall, but MTV announced that the upcoming season of Jersey Shore will be the last. Six seasons is enough for anyone of the show which never changed. I'm sure MTV will attempt to keep up a few spinoffs, but they will fade quickly. In a few months, The Situation will be begging club owners to give him a few grand to have him come be at their party. Pauly D will keep getting some DJ work, but nothing will match the money he gets right now. Pauly probably has the greatest chance of success. The Situation is the most likely to get arrested and head to rehab repeatedly. What do you think is going to happen to the cast after the show ends and they are not in demand any longer? They have no talent, except for Pauly so they will probably have to find real jobs. I hope they saved their pennies, but you know they didn't.

  1. This is great, but would be better if we just ended MTV.

  2. I actually really liked the first season, after that they all became to aware of their own fortunes and success and all the fun idiocy of the first season just faded away. It's going to be really tough on all of them when they can't afford those new range rover insurance payments.

    Oh, thank you! Thank you!

  5. I like the way you think T.E.

  6. I've never watched even one episode. I get my Jersey fix from Jerseylicious. Classy stuff.

  7. I wish it was the -ians.

  8. I'd rather see all of the teen moms and 16 and pregnants be cancelled first.

  9. Agree with T.E.

    I can't wait for a VH1/E! follow-up special on these people in 20 years.

  10. Nevermind. There will always be new and more awful reality "stars" waiting their turn.

  11. And the nation's collective IQ just rose 5 points. Let us all pray that MTV hasn't actually found a more slack-jawed demographic to exploit now that Jersey is "over." Rural, homeschooled teen-mom midget gypsy polygamist beauty pageant competitors, please don't exist.

  12. FYI: The Situation is doing Big Brother in the UK right now. May be he'll become a D List celeb over there? I could totally see him dating Jodie Marsh!

  13. snooki, jenny, and pauly will continue to have careers.

i agree that mike will end up in and out of rehab.

sam and ron will probably get married or continue their lame excuse for a relationship

and deana. well i have no idea, hopefully she goes to school and tries to earn a honest living.

vinny will probably continue trying be an actor and i can see that working for him, but i doubt he'll be that high in demand.

  14. I predict Snookie losing custody of her baby with the year!

  15. My BF watches, and apparently Vinny is really smart and actually educated. He'll be able to move on and do other things.

I have no sympathy for what happens to any of these people when they realize theyve burned up their "fame". "Reality stars" think they're on a get famous quick path, but don't realize the path is short and leads to a cliff. It's consumption at its finest. If acting isn't your craft, you're really better off not embarrassing yourself and family for truly 15 minutes of fame.

  16. They all think it is never going to end and they will be on the gravy train forever.

When MTV pulls the plug, they pull it for good. That is the one thing I like about MTV. Nobody gets to be the flavor of the week forever.

  17. I'm gonna throw this out there that I think Snookie has a chance at keeping her name somewhat relevant for awhile longer. Even though everybody makes fun of her, I saw her in a couple interviews since she got knocked-up and I have to say, she's actually pretty funny and "real" (aka: self-depracating in a humorous way) and even though everybody hates on her for being so over-the-top, that girl will work her ass off to keep a decent income coming in. She may only be of average intelligence but she is of above-average work ethic when it comes to her career moves.

  18. Pauly is the one with the most talent? Isn't he a DJ? That takes talent?

  19. I dated a real old school dj. Watching him mix the turntables was INSANE! He had records actual records of just random sounds. He said a dj memorizes where each sound is in every groove so he can spin it to the exact sound he wants at the exact time and then do that 5 times in a row. It was so fascinating to watch. THAT'S a dj. Doesn't Pauly D spin real records? If its just his Italian flag emblazoned laptop then I agree with you.

  20. Pauly will probably do well for himself, although I think Snooki may surprise a few people. She recently talked about going back to school and ultimately becoming a Vet - I could see this happening in time.

  21. Yeah maybe "educated" Vinnie's next "rape rap" will hit #1 and he'll be set for life on the royalties.

  22. I agree with first comment. NO MORE M(oron)TV!

  23. Rural, homeschooled teen-mom midget gypsy polygamist beauty pageant competitors, please don't exist.

Alex T.: you are cracking me up today. *high fives you*

(Can we please just bring MUSIC back to MTV?)

  24. @katsm0711-real old school DJ's have skills! I'd love to know how to do that. Playing an iPod and calling that DJ-ing? No.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Doesn't really matter, unfortunately. Some other turd will take its place. Every time you think they can't go any lower, they do. I wish reality tv would go away altogether (what good has it every brought us?), but it's too popular.

  26. I predict JWoww will do porn.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hope they saved some of that MTV money... HA! Who am I kidding?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thank you Jeebus!

  29. Being a DJ is NOT a talent. Sorry. Being an actual musician IS.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Pauly will do okay. Maybe the Situation too, as a D-list celeb on rotating reality shows. Vinnie and Ronnie will disappear completely. JWow (or however you spell it) and Snooki will do fashion lines, maybe some QVC things, and hover forever on the edge of obscurity, like Lauren Conrad.

    ReplyDelete
  31. My hope is that they'll all crawl back into the sewer they crawled out of.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Sammy and Ronnie will get married, then divorced, married then divorced...etc.

Snooki will end up writing a book about motherhood and marriage

JWow will end up stripping or do playboy in an attempt to get back her 15 minutes.

Pauli D will FINALLY get a normal hairdo and get rid of the 80's aquanet hairdo.

Vinnie will end up getting married, have 10 kids and get fat.

The situation will look like an 80 year old man, 5 years from now...and I agree with Enty. arrested, rehab for drugs and alcohol.

    ReplyDelete
  33. GREAT news! but what will be next? perhaps it is really time in our devolution as a culture to expect "ow my balls"?

    ReplyDelete
  34. I will miss it, but some of them were getting a little old for this crap.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I hate myself that I watched some of this mess, but I did. I loathe this trash.

I hope mommyhood has a good impact on Snooki. Who knows what will happen to her.

I definitely think Jenny will do Playboy.

    No clue about the rest.

    ReplyDelete
  36. From watching him on CBB it really seems like The Situation has done a lot of growing up since rehab and is ready to find a wife and settle down - I say that with 100% sincerity.

    ReplyDelete
  37. snooki saw this coming, so got pregnant to stay relevant.

    ReplyDelete
  38. ...and not a single fuck was given that day.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Pauly's real money is probably going to be in that Remix (or whatever it's called) line of cocktail mixers. No, seriously.

Real Worlders are still trying to make money off of a rare appearance. I say, get a real job. If you make reality TV your life and your life Reality TV then you're totally fucked.

  41. For those of us watching Situation (or occasional table as Julian calls him lol ) on Celebrity Big Brother, he does seem a bit changed. Still a bit of a jack the lad, but seeming a bit more self-reflective. And, I don't think he has been drinking in the house. There was 1 night where I thought he seemed a bit tipsy, but it hasn't been repeated.

Oh, and this might surprise some people but the English viewers of the show seem to love him!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yay Now if they would just cancel all the rest of the trash. Like the rest of MTV,all of TLC,Bravo and most of Lifetime maybe the stupidity level in this country would go down a little.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Vinnie is from an old school italian family on staten island....his mom will continue to feed him and do his laundry until she dies.

Snooki besides Pauly D was the only one who had an actual job before the show if im correct?? I'm sure she can find someone who wants to hire her at their bat shit receptionist.
