Mr. Marcus Is Reason Porn Industry Shut Down
It is not very often that one person on their own can stop a billion dollar a year industry on his own. Mr. Marcus did just that. He admitted yesterday that he is the actor who contracted syphilis and passed it on to several other performers who gave it to several others which is why filming was halted. Had to stop it so they could stop people from spreading it like crazy. Mr. Marcus knew he had the disease but a doctor told him he would not be contagious ten days after starting penicillin. He went to work on day 11 and 9 other people ended up with the disease.
gross.
ReplyDeleteHe's a jerk for not telling people he was being treated; lay down with a dog and wake up with syphilis.
ReplyDeleteIsn't the general rule 14 days? 10 if using azithromycin?
ReplyDeleteIn any event, it'll be good for their genitals to take a little time off.

ReplyDeleteI read that he started work after only 4 days of treatment.
ReplyDeleteTD Jakes got an extreme makeover omg
ReplyDelete@camembert - umm...sure
ReplyDeleteCome on man. Save your money so you can afford to take two weeks off. I don't judge porn people as long as they're responsible on the job and everything is shot on the up and up. At least they're honest about what they do and don't try to pass themselves off as something else *cough* Kim Kardouchienne *cough*
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking this kind of thing could happen a lot more than it does. Considering it's not rocket scientists performing in these films.
ReplyDelete@nolachickee - that might be a brand new crazy idea! Scientist porno.
ReplyDeleteBig Bang Theory
DeleteBig Bang Theory
Deleterisk is inherrent in the sex industry. why rely on a week old test when stars can have sex with someone in their personal life that has a std. duh!!!!!!
Deletew/beakers
ReplyDeleteI'd think the docs who see and treat and sign off on all these folks would mandate a two weeks off rule after this.
ReplyDeleteWhat if someone who contracted it from this paragon of virtue, and I'm talking about working when you know you have it, didn't get the word. It does very unkind things to your brain after sitting around for a few years, rocket scientist indeed.
So, was he lying or is this a newer strain of antibiotic resistant syphilis?
ReplyDeleteYow!! I don't even want to imagine an antibiotic-resistant strain of syphillis! Leagues of face-eating zombies coming for sure.
Delete11 days means he missed filming about 5000 scenes.
ReplyDeleteHow is he not HIV+?
ReplyDeleteMarcus changed his test results to look like he was disease free.
ReplyDeleteLOL @ Ingrid S., I always love your snark!
ReplyDeleteConsidering these are pron workers, not rocket scientists as we agree, if the doc told him 10 days, he's gonna believe him. Do they not wear condoms?
ReplyDeleteSyphilis is NO joke...the symptoms disappear, but it slowly eats your BRAIN.
ReplyDeleteEver hear the rumor that Mary Todd Lincoln was 'insane' in her old age, because Abe liked women of easy virtue at least before he was married? It's an interesting theory, because it means Lincoln himself would have eventually lost it, had he lived.
yodelay--straight porn still does not use condoms. They get around it by testing FREQUENTLY for STDs. Not often enough in this case, and there was a huge HIV scare a few years back that shut the industry down for awhile.
ReplyDeleteThat's just gross.
DeleteIngrid, LOL.
ReplyDeleteThere's actually a lot of industry politics over the testing system(s) for porn workers in SoCal. It's a morass of complicated sleaze.
ReplyDeleteI've dated a couple of "ex" sex-workers (who were probably deeper in the biz than they told me). Syphilis is scary shit.
I used to work with someone who was stuck with a dirty needle from a woman who had congenital syphilis - he was told he would have to be checked for syphilis every 6 months or so for the rest of his life. This was 25 years or so ago - I wonder whatever happened with him. That patient was mentally incompetent when he was caring for her. You'd think these porn stars would know better.
ReplyDeleteI'll come out and say it: Watching him will never be the same.
ReplyDeleteI wonder where he got it.
ReplyDeleteNot only did he go back to work- he forged the doctor's test results TWICE.
ReplyDeleteIt was only a quick thinking booker who caught it and busted him. he was worried about the "stigma" of having Syphilis in porn.
Dude's cock will never work in this town again.
Who is still buying the porn cow? There's free milk all over the internet.
ReplyDeleteLOL@TD Jakes, lostathome. That's a new way to bring money into the congregation.
ReplyDeleteOccupational hazard for real!!
ReplyDeleteI'll take James Deen any day.
ReplyDeleteANY day. Sunday...Monday,tuesday..Christmas, at noon at work....waiting for Quiznos.
sorry, what?
I was gonna say at least he waited but I guess there's more to this story. Hate to say it but...Condoms People!
ReplyDeleteHere's a good one. My sis in law works for the public health dept in a large city and gets loads of married men who come in with STD's claiming someone accidentally sat on their hardness in a steamroom..Riiiight.
I thought syphilis was something doctors had to report to the CDC. It's one hell of a STD! I guess his brain already turned to cottage cheese to do this.
ReplyDeleteActually, several performers went to Twitter saying he went to work on Day 4 with an altered letter of health.....which makes it worse. He didn't even wait the full 10 days.
ReplyDeleteMw-ahahahahahahaa! lazaday, oh gawd, now I gotta clean my monitor!
ReplyDeleteStupid thing is these actors get tested and only 'clean' people can work. Technically seen they can't get diseases from eachother since everyone is officially clean. Some dumbasses decide to do it without a condom in their private life and then bring their diseases to work.
ReplyDeleteNot only do they risk their own health, but also the health of their partners/co-workers. Sad.
*Today it's 'Bring your disease to work day!' WIIEEH!
What a loser. Hope everyone in the business refuses to work with him again. That's NOT COOL.
ReplyDeleteIf he really had waited until the day after the doc said he could go back to work, that would be one thing, but forging your papers and sharing your diseases with your co-workers & all their other partners? NOT OK. He's been in the business a long time (since the mid-'90s, I think--I know about him from reading a piece in Details about porn back then), but I hope he hasn't spent all his money on hookers and blow, because I doubt he'll be making much more in that industry.
ReplyDeleteEwwwwwwwwwwwww
ReplyDeleteI just saw a porn with him and superhead!
ReplyDeleteThere's a porn star named superhead?
ReplyDeleteWhaddaya know, there is a porn star named superhead.
(Beat)
Shit, I just google'd "superhead" through the servers at my new job with Paranoia, Inc.
Well fuck it, they seem pretty cool here. Superhead, superhead, superhead! The new guy is surfing for porn at his desk!
Superhead.
Is it beer o'clock yet?
"I hope he hasn't spent all his money on hookers and blow."
ReplyDeleteDrugs wouldn't surprise me, but I've got to think that if you work as a porn star, you have more sex than you could possibly want. Would a porn star really have use for a hooker? Then again, What do I know?
Just another example of how porn hurts women. I HATE porn and what it is doing to our culture.
ReplyDelete@doctressjulia
ReplyDeleteYou speak the truth.
The real shame is the loss of a job suffered by the guy that "mops up" after filming the latest installment of "Black Meat Treat" or "Daddy... Mommy has gone Black". :(
ReplyDeleteAlso...
ReplyDeleteL.L. you might want to get tested. Or was she patient "ground zero"?
It is not known whether he infected anyone. The shoot he was on, where it was discovered something wasn't right with the paper copy of his test, was a scene with his girlfriend.
ReplyDeleteThere were 5 performers that tested positive in July. One Adult Industry testing facility just started testing for Syphilis in July, after the European outbreak. The other Facility only tested for it every 6 months, a policy which is supposed to have been changed after this incident. So to say all the "reactive" tests are because of him is very short sighted.
No joke getting your junk infested. Word.
