LeBron James Asked Out US Swimmer Lauren Perdue - She Said No

Lauren Perdue is certainly gorgeous. I can see why a lot of guys would ask her out. Apparently her suitors include the very engaged LeBron James. Lauren Tweeted that LeBron asked her out to dinner. It appears that Lauren does not know he was engaged. I guess he was not very forthcoming with that information. But, despite that she still turned him down because she is staying in the Olympic Village and there is a curfew that does not apply to LeBron James or the other NBA players who are staying away from the village. I guess it would have been too much for him to say that she could stay at his place, but you know that is what he was thinking.

  2. Oh, I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding! Kind of like people in prison - it's my favorite Lockup excuse.

  3. I heard the Olympic Village is just one big orgy. Everyone is getting it on in some fashion.

  5. Doesn't he have several children with his "fiancé"?

Way to keep it classy, LeBron. High five to the twittering swimmer girl!

  6. no one expects him to ever be faithful...do we ?

  7. He asked to eat with him in the athlete's dining room - not exactly the same thing as asking someone on a date. She mentioned this in her tweet, which she later deleted.

Way to make a story out of nothing, really.

  8. Pretty sure not even his fiancée expects that

  9. His mother probably tried to hook them up. She's a nasty piece of work.

  10. MISCH - Naw. I think she's his HS sweetheart, too. I've always had a rule: No athletes, no celebs, no (semi/locally) famous musicians. Sure, it's possible there's a decent one in the bunch, but so many think they're untouchable. With athletes in particular, they've gone their whole lives with people kissing their asses because they're the stars on their teams. The entitlement is almost unavoidable.

Ditto! Musicians, actors, athletes, and celebs are just heartbreak waiting to happen. Yes, there exceptions to the rule, but not enough to take the chance.

  15. I don't know...she seemed a little immature and maybe attention-grabby to me. She later clarified he asked her jokingly to join him at the heavily populated cafeteria and sure, that sounds like a romantic tryst to me /eyeroll.

She's known to cause major scenes here in SoFla. She was arrested in Miami Beach after she assaulted a valet worker. His people didn't get there in time to pay off.

  18. LeJerk has at least 2 kids with his fiance, who he has been with since HS. He is also rumored to be the baby daddy of an ex-news anchor from Cleveland who now lives in the Miami area.

Yes, his mother is Miami's problem now.

  19. i don't mind lebron, but he's a drama queen...the type of drama queen (king?) who'll drum up something for the sake of feeding off of it.

the swimmer girl is lovely, but really, she does well to stay away and focus on the task at hand.

  22. @Jennifer Hansen - You'd think they'd want to be in orgy central with all those condoms. Sounds kinda nice actually :D

  23. Jennifer, dia - think it's because they don't fit on the single beds that are in the dorm rooms.

Sounds silly, I know, but having a brother who's 6'8", I can sympathize with them. Nothing worse than a horrible night's sleep!

  24. But, yeah, if I was a young, single, Olympian, you bet your ass I'd be right in the thick of the hedonism! Shit,it's the Olympics!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Shit, it's the Olympics INDEED. I bet everyone's thinking how do I get in on THAT again!

6'8" Wow! I don't know if I should be jealous of him or sad for him. I would be a pet turtle next to your brother. Hope you're finally feeling better!

  26. HAHA! When I moved to Cleveland, Lebron moved to Miami. His face was plastered all over this city. Now, he is the most hated guy ever. You know Clevelanders are really down on themselves. That stunt essentially just kicked them while they were down. Glad Miami inherits his problems as well as his talent.

Do the girlfriends and wives of athletes, celebs, and actors really expect them to be faithful?

  27. Hi, dia. Thanks, I'm finally getting there. I get frustrated when I can't spring right back up and do everything I want to do. I must remember to be thankful for every healthy day.

As far as my brother goes, I think he owns his height quite well. He plays basketball, of course, but didn't play competitively past high school. Turns out, he's an artist; I didn't even know that was where his heart was when we were kids, because it wasn't an option for him growing up.

So now, he's a stay at home dad artist who happens to be very tall - and I think he's found his bliss :-).

  29. @Frufra - So glad you're feeling better. Sometimes we get sick BECAUSE we deeply need to rest, slow down, take a breather. The body knows best!

And congrats to your brother for following his dream. That's awesome! Takes courage to listen to our hearts when the outside world things we should be something else...

I actually gotta work today so signing off. Hope I don't miss too much.

  30. Eh, sounds innocent enough to me. If you were out of the country on business wouldn't you want to have dinner with someone too? She sounds like a brat with the way she boasted on Twitter, knowing it would turn into a story.
Savannah (James' fiance/HS sweetheart/not a typical groupie) doesn't have anything to worry about.

  31. I don't have any insight to Hollywood celebs, but I was brought up around MLB players. When I was younger, we used to travel with the team (back when they had their own team plane). I definitely DO blame the married players, but as a "tween" (ha ha) I remember these hussy ladies waiting at the airport, waiting at the hotels, and walking around the hotel pools in their bikinis and high heels and throwing themselves at these fellas when they weren't with their wives. Yuck.
One time in my early 20's, I was at Spring Training and one of the players came over to say hi to Pops. He was very friendly to me, and after he left our table before I could say anything, my Mom said "Over my dead body". Ha! I had the no athlete rule myself but my parents made sure it was enforced!

Surfer is right. LeBron invited her to eat with him, and presumably other basketball players, in the Olympic cafeteria. Hardly the stuff of forbidden love.

The swimmer came across as a bit of reaching for the stars. Her tweet bought her some instant fame.

And who doesn't know LeBron is engaged? Every tabloid had a blurb about it earlier this year. He talked about it when on The View after the NBA Finals. If she didn't know, she's not paying attention. She was probably hoping LeBron would forget, wink wink.

    Because they are professionals.

This was negotiated with the original 1992 "dream team" who stayed at a hotel/casino.

Apparently the athlete's village is a legendary ginormous sexfest, and has been for years. I read somewhere that each athlete got 15 condoms in their welcome packet -- for a 16-day event. So people are gettin' busy. I guess I can't really blame them that much. Most of these people do nothing but train and compete 24/7, so the Olympics are the only time they are living around other super-honed athletes without their coaches, parents, etc. breathing down their necks. I think I read somewhere that Ryan Lochte estimated that between 70-75% of the single Olympians are bedhopping throughout the village the entire time.

BTW, the athlete's rooms are like dorms. They are small and relatively sparse, with shared bathrooms and roommates. And Team Great Britain is the only one with air conditioning. The beds are not long, so I can see why the super-tall, super-rich basketball players aren't staying there. Most of the tennis players aren't, either. They just stayed in the houses they rent during Wimbledon.

Stephanie Rice has been getting it on with Kobe Bryant according to Aussie newspapers

  44. The Olympics are indeed legendary for their sexcapades amongst athletes.

Also - the worst behaved? Swimmers. Swimmers finish their events in the first week, after which they get to party like crazy.

Marathon runners on the other hand have to stay clean, since they get drug tested on the last day. :)
