Everyone Hates Matt Lauer - Probably Even Natalie Morales

Yesterday morning, Al Roker "joked" about Matt Lauer throwing people under the bus. He was obviously referring to Ann Curry and just as obviously, Al doesn't like Matt for it or his fake pleasantries and everyone liked Ann and the only reason she is gone is because of Matt. Yes, the ratings were low, but they had started dropping long before Ann took over. They have continued to drop with Savannah who looked mortified yesterday when Al dropped his bomb on Matt. Know what Matt did after? Well, go look for the joke anywhere in the Today clips online. Not there is it? Matt complained and the bosses took it out. Why? If it was just a joke, then why would it matter? It is because it is not a joke. Everyone dislikes Matt and wish he was the one kicked to the curb. Natalie Morales is probably even tired of him by now and all his excuses. The hard flirting with Savannah is probably not helping matters either.

  1. Go AL!! Gma all the way. Even tho I heard Josh Elliot is a diva off camera, that gave me the sads.

  2. Maybe they should have consulted the ratings before giving Matt that huge contract. I guess they never considered he could be the issue.

  3. HEY! I sent this to Enty yesterday afternoon! A little credit please!

J/K...it was on the internets for all to link....I'm sure he would have found it anyway.

LOVE Al! He's not taking any shit from Lauer. Imagine if Lauer tried to get everybody's buddy AL ROKER fired? ARMAGEDDON!!!

Al's known Ann forever, I understand why he'd be pissed about what happened.

  4. There must be a lot of tension in that workplace. They probably should have let Matt Lauer go as well and just start with a clean slate. Not a good thing to have an entire staff resent the top dog.

  5. Time for Matt to go, he's been a problem for a long time.

  6. Good for Al!

Want about Gene Simmons A&E show getting canceled? Simmons tried to make it look like it was his idea, but A&E axed him.

  7. I finally stopped lurking and decided to comment!

There should be a petition to get Matt Lauer off tv! He seems to be such a creeper!

    Team Ann!

  12. Thanks hunter...I was just kidding, really---The link I sent him had the full video...this one is better, neatly edited to show the 'joke', and repeated over & over.
    I LOVE Savannah's reaction.
And Al is just DARING Matt to hate him. I love it!

  13. Hi ya, Frufra. A bit cooler today, yeah! I'm with Susan--maybe they should start with a clean slate.

  14. Ha!
    Get it Mr. Roker!

  15. hi kelsey!

i saw that interview and jaw dropped. way to go al! down with matt.

  16. Is it my imagination or does Savannah say "Yes" to Al's quip before the mock slap? I think that makes it so much funnier.

  17. When I read this yesterday, it seriously brightened my mood for the rest of the day. The good ship Lauer, sinking fast.

  18. Hi Momster. Did y'all get rain? Barely a drop here, but I'll take the cooler temps any day! First day of school here, too - I'm flying solo!

  19. Totally off topic- who wants to guess who will be in random pics? I'll go with miley cyrus, flipping her wretched hairdo for some reason. Someone walking their dog, getting coffee, posing like a plasticine doll by word laden backdrop, some couple canoodling, some couple looking cranky- feel free to make up own atory- and a fashion do and dont. What u guys got? (and i love them all!! Fauxly considering myself an expert in body language, lol)

  20. How does Matt still have a job? Someone needs to take a close look at HIS boss.

Have a fun Friday and a great weekend everyone!

  21. Way to go AL! Mean people deserve to end up fat at Texshan's reunions. Could you SEE that? A morbidly obese completely bald Matt Lauer with mustard stains all over his shirt and greasy fingers! He blows up (Violet Beauregard style) and has to be rolled around the whole party. That's what I want for Mr Mattie.

*maybe I'm being a bit too harsh*

  22. Al's stock went up a %1000 after I saw that yesterday. Glad he called out Douche Bag Lauer. Savannah's reaction was priceless!

Older son went back to OU yesterday, younger started his senior year Wednesday. Major case of the sads today.

Love Al Roker. I still say scum bag Matt Lauer must have something on the big bosses. Otherwise I don't get why he's still has a job.

    ReplyDelete
  28. *karen*--EVERYBODY loves Al, fake or not, he knows how NOT to display his ass-ness in public, unlike Lauer.

He is the 'quiet storm'--just as popular as Lauer, if not more so--and I just loved seeing Al swing his nads in Matt's direction!
TRY and hurt Al, Matt, and you will be FINISHED.

  29. Momster, hang in there. I can only imagine what a wreck I'll be when my boys get to that age. I'm afraid we might have a pet raccoon or chickens in the house or something else crazy when our kids grow up.

At least they're boys - in my experience, boys need their mommas for a long time. Hell, my husband's pretty pathetic when left to his own devices, and he's in his 40's. They forget to EAT when I'm not here - it's very sad.

  30. I love Al. I used to work with a girl who lived in his building, and she said he was very sweet, warm, funny in person.

Matt on the other hand, yuck. He used to be appealing but I think he lost all his personality along with his hair.

    ReplyDelete
  31. The quiet storm. Lol, I'll never be able to think about Al without thinking "the quiet storm" narrated by a deep black man's voice and saxophone playing.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Al is so sassy, i love it. I know he is thinking "Try and fire me Matt..just try" cause they wont fire Al, and if they do..that'll be bad news bears for Matt.

    ReplyDelete
  33. "bad news bears" = best phrase of the day so far :-).

We also like to say " you want it, you got it Toyota"!

    ReplyDelete
  34. It saddens me that when i say 'bad news bears' to people, the first thing they say is how funny Billy Bob was. Please..the original is one of the best movies, I loved Walter M and Jackie Earle Haley in that movie.

  35. I don't know. This was funny but it's also kind of unprofessional. Was it nice for Matt to have a hand in getting Ann off the show? No. But what does nice have to do with it? This is business. We're talking about one of the most watched morning shows on television. Nice has nothing to do with it. Yep, I'm cold.

Ann seems so sweet and it's unfortunate that this happened, but she was AWFUL as a host. I have watched the Today show for a good decade (though wayyy less now because it truly is becoming unbearable--did you see Matt interview that Kardashian like she was a bonafide superstar?! HA!), and Ann really was bad. She should've stuck with special reports and the news. She was in her element there. As a host she always seemed uncomfortable and could NOT put out a sentence without stumbling over her words and saying "um" and "uh." It was painful.

I'm definitely not team Matt because he's a dog and is so not a more hard-hitting journalist like he used to be, but it's not like he went on air and said Ann should be fired. He never aired that shit out like Al did here. Although it was pretty damn funny. :)

  36. Member how Jackie Earle Haley was a little sex symbol after that movie? Didn't he ride his motorcycle onto the ball field? Be still, my heart :-)!

  37. If we were playing the Happy Days board game, Al would get TEN cool points. Ayyyyyyyyyyy *thumbs up Fonzie style*

    ReplyDelete
  38. Frufra- he was such a stud in that movie! He was so bad ass, smoking cigarettes at 13 and riding around town on his motorcycle! He was the original 'bad boy' to me. He is a truly underrated actor. His performance in 'Little Children' is wonderful and its the only time Ive ever thought the movie was better than the book.

  39. Oh Al.... I love when you lose your verbal sensor sometimes. You're a real hoot!

  40. Always liked Al. Now I like him even more.

  41. I love Al. He got his start in Cleveland as a weatherman, and when he started making it big back in the mid-90s I wrote him an e-mail to congratulate him. He took the time to write me a very sweet e-mail back. I love Al, but now I love him even more!

  42. Actually Matt Lauer isn't on the Today show this morning...interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  43. LOVE it!!!

    TEAM ROKER!!!!

  44. Interesting. I was under the impression that Matt and Al were friends -- they've talked about going on gold trips.

I guess not so much anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Go AL!!! Loved him when he was the weatherman in NYC!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Good for you Al!! He's just saying out loud what everybody has been thinking!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Wow! That was pretty harsh but oh so spot on. Wonder if Matty was still stinging and had to call in sick today.."Wahh..Nobody loves me. I can't come in. I want them to miss me."

    ReplyDelete
  48. OMG- LOL. Who knew Al had it in him? Get rid of Matt Lauer. No one likes him.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think matt's days are numbered. All the females shld band together and get his ass fired. Then his wife shld lv him, and kids disown him. And then he may say," perhaps ive been a bit dickish".

    ReplyDelete
  50. Matt wasn't on this morning?!

    Team AL!!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Didn't Bryant Gumbel go the way Lauer is now?
Didn't Jane Paulie call him out?

Does the today show feed the men something "special?"

    ReplyDelete
  52. Although I'd like to think he was talking about Matt throwing Ann under the bus, it could be taken the other way around since now she is complaining about the fact she was told to dye her hair and to dress more user-friendly. Also, she was probably the source for a lot of the leaks.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Go Al!!! And go,really, Matt.

    ReplyDelete
  54. GO AL!!!!
never knew he had it in him-- I always assumed he kept his head low to avoid Glib Lauer's poison darts...
I say CALL GLIB Laurer OUT at every turn!!!
In addition to "Where's Shelly?" we can add, "Where's Ann?"

    ReplyDelete
  55. We don't have this show but when I hear the name Al Roker I think of the TV guide episode of Seinfield.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Bahahahahahahahaha....Goooo Alllllll....

    ReplyDelete
  57. And the best Matt Lauer could say is "Mr. Roker!" That makes me happy. If someone slams me, I feel the best thing is to have a very cutting comeback, and if my slow mind doesn't provide one immediately, just to pretend I didn't notice the slam, because that gives the slammer no feeling of pleasure or triumph. (Unless everyone knows it is an unfair slam, to which I respond, "Wow, that's harsh" and a person with conscience feels a little abashed.) But to acknowledge you heard it and then have nothing to say about it, that gives the WIN to Al in a Big Way. Go Al.

Loved your post. I have somehow dodged the mean girl targets, but the couple times they've tried I just laugh and say OK. It's truly the equivalent of giving the bird :)

  58. And it would not surprise me at all if Al is shopping his resume around as a solidarity quit for how they treated Ann.

    ReplyDelete
  59. See how Savanah is even mimicking Matt's response.

  60. Lauer's been asking for a bitch slap for years. I'm just glad it was Roker because he's been putting up with bullshit for years.

  61. "Who's Natalie?" - I cannot hear her name w/out thinking about that quote!

That is HILARIOUS and AWKWARD and I LOVED IT! GO Al!
