Edinburgh Goodbye

I just wanted to thank Amanda for taking the time to write so many great reviews of all the shows she attended. She could have just gone and had fun, but decided to share something that a lot of people on this side of the Atlantic have never gone to or maybe even heard of. Thanks.

Edinburgh Goodbye

Well, ladies and gents, this is it. I'm on my way back to Warrington with a suitcase full of filthy laundry, a pile of scripts to re-write and a slightly enlarged liver. I've left my dignity behind.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my posts. You've been great in the comments. I hope I've done Edinburgh justice, and that you'll consider coming here for your holiday next year. It is a stonkingly good time in one of the best cities in the world. Look me up, I'll be around. I also hope you will check out the comics I have reviewed- many of them tour around Europe and North America.

Thank you so much for all your suggestions for shows- there must have been about 80 of them via Twitter, email and FB. I did catch some of them, including Man 1 Bank 0, The Blanks, Paul Merton’s Impro Chums, and Jo Caulfield and Tony Law in short sets. I'll be checking out the others in my local venues.

Oh, and as it wouldn’t be comedy without a callback, here’s the monkey on the wheelchair:

See? It’s a monkey...on a wheelchair! (thanks to Al Pitcher)

  6. Nothing to do with getting close to end of festival or anything (2nd September is when the fireworks over the castle says THE END), but I saw Susan Boyle yesterday. She was just walking along the street, looking quite nice actually - beige jacket, black trousers, hair nice, lipstick.
