Chris Lighty, a hip-hop mogul who helped the likes of Sean Combs, 50 Cent and Mariah Carey attain not only hit records, but also careers outside music, was found dead in his New York City apartment Thursday in an apparent suicide. He was 44. Chris had been divorced from his wife for about a year and friends and family say he had not been the same since.

ReplyDeleteSad for his wife...read the article in a NY paper (online)... my understanding was that after the fight he walked away, said he couldn't take it anymore and shot himself in the head. I feel terrible for her.

ReplyDeleteMy brother committed suicide (I think) by drowning himself in a river when he couldn't get sober, just so his family would get benefits. It still hurts.
So sad that this got 6 comments and Leann Rimes's tirade got more than a hundred. That said, I follow entertainment news, and I have never heard of this man. Anyway, RIP.

ReplyDeleteHe was well known among the hip hop community. Anyone who followed the music during the 1990s would have been familiar with him. He managed a lot of popular rappers. So sad to hear this.
