Carly Rae Jepsen Split With Her Call me Maybe Boyfriend When She Got Famous
Ahh, the love life of a celebrity. It doesn't seem to matter if you are male or female, but if you have a significant other when you become famous it is really rare for that person to last with you longer than a few months of your fame. If you do last, then you are generally willing to make concessions and not have any self-respect because your partner is cheating on you constantly. Carly Rae Jepsen had nothing but love for her long term boyfriend and subject of Call Me Maybe back in May, but a couple of weeks later he was kicked to the curb because her schedule got way too busy. This is always excuse #1 on splits when people get famous, but they never explain how they manage to find time to date some new person who is also amazing and wonderful which is what Carly Rae has been doing since she split with her long term boyfriend. Some of course will say that she met the new guy and started up with him before she officially called it quits, but hey, even if you are a one hit wonder it is still rock-n-roll. OK, bubble gum pop, but still, you get to live like a rock star right?
Is she dating someone famous now?
ReplyDeleteGreat, now I have "It's Still Rock and Roll to me" in my head.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen the youtube video of the crazy Bieber fan who does her own version of this song. Sample lyric "hey! I just saw you with that lady, paid for her dinner, that's kind of shady.." Its so funny.
ReplyDeleteHer "fifteen minutes" is winding down fast.
ReplyDeleteFound it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBzjEQ3uuz0
ReplyDeleteShe is called the "Overly attached girlfriend"
So she's the anti-Taylor Swift?
ReplyDeletedont get this chick.
ReplyDeleteI can dig some bubble gum pop, but this chick's song makes me wish my ears would close up while I hear it.
ReplyDeleteThat song is so dang cute, I still turn it up. But there's no real talent there, right? She's just a girl who recorded a song. She could have been anyone.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your celebrity, save your dough, and we'll see you on a VH1 special in ten years...
I'll cut her some slack considering most young couples break up. College, new jobs, new friends. People grow a lot at that age and very few people really do marry the high school sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite "Call Me Maybe"-meme is the clown picture with the caption "Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy. But here's my basement - I'm John Wayne Gacy!"
ReplyDeleteI think it would be really hard to take care of a relationship if you suddenly become famous and have to be away all the time - I'm not sure I would be able to be so understanding if my husband's band suddenly made it and he had to go on tour for the majority of the year. Hopefully he'd at least be making some money so I didn't have to WORK while he was out gallivanting! *L*
I never fault anyone for breaking up with anyone, ever. Relationship with another should bring out a new facet of your persona, and you should cherish that and dwell within that and love that person as long as the relationship is good. And when it isn't, you move on. (If there are children to raise, that's the only time I think people should consider going against their heart's wishes -- but even then I often support friends who divorce or separate. Let people love as they wish!)
ReplyDeleteHahaha Maja- I had to google that meme and promptly laughed my ass off.
ReplyDeleteYou talk like sudden access to some of the greatest sex in the world is a bad thing to happen to somebody. You're only young once. Enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteOh good, I am not the only one going to hell. I laughed when I read it!
ReplyDeleteThis is the best Call Me Maybe cover of all of them. I can't stop laughing! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCiY1y3uJ3o
ReplyDelete@Melissa, I love that chatroulette video. Is it wrong that I find myself strangely attracted to that guy? *L*
ReplyDeleteRight, how many relationships last in excess of four months at this age? A handful?
ReplyDeleteIsn't the Call Me Maybe song about how she thinks a boy is cute but he ends up liking a guy in her band?
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I would also be lenient on this case.
ReplyDeleteWhen success comes knocking at your door, new projects, activities, people come into your life and cause a lot of changes.
And because a compatible lifestyle is the key to a relationship, it is easy to suddenly become more attracted to people who are more familiar with these new experiences than your "original partner".
The "original partner" can feel awfully maladjusted in a new setting for his partner in which he/she does not belong and give up.
Hence Splitville. It s not snobbery.
Looking at her, she's young and old at the same time.
ReplyDeleteisn't she technically a two-hot wonder, since she has that song where she's guesting with some band who I can't be bothered to look up right now?
ReplyDeleteDidn't she come in third on Canadian Idol or something? I think she actually has talent to back up this one catchy song. I wouldn't be surprised if she stuck around for a while. Katy Perry 2.0?
ReplyDeletehaha, two-hit wonder, I meant!
ReplyDeleteBetter keep his number young lady, your down to 13 minutes on your celebrity clock.
