Pro-Anorexia Website Says Kate Upton Is Fat
I'm not sure how anyone is ever supposed to feel good about themselves. SkinnyGossip has decided that Kate Upton is way too fat to be any kind of role model. The site, which is a pro-anorexia site called Kate thick and vulgar. This is crazy. Are there any sites out there that just like people for people and don't judge on the curves or lack of curves? It seems like no matter how you look, someone will find fault. I do think that pro-anorexia sites really are a huge danger. To me Kate Upton is not too skinny. I think she is actually a step in the right direction of models being more curvy and not always having to be stick thin. What happens when some impressionable teen reads SkinnyGossip and decides the only way she will ever look good is to weight under 100 pounds or reads that Kate Upton is fat or that Kate is vulgar for eating a hamburger in a commercial?
Of course she is the furthest thing from fat, that is ridiculous. But I do agree that those stupid Hardee's ads are vulgar; she looks like she's fellating the sandwich.
ReplyDeleteDisgusting
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately the 1st amendment allows these idiots to have their site and destroy the lives of young girls with low self esteem. And this is not the worst of them, I know there are several pro anorexia sites with tips on everything from how to throw up, hide food, what laxatives to take, you name it. Just sad.
ReplyDeleteA pro-anorexia site? That's just messed up.
ReplyDeleteI meant it's disgusting that they would insult her like that. Her body is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI could only hope to be as "fat" as Kate Upton.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder girls develop eating disorders at such a young age.
I had never seen the SkinnyGossip site before (and won't ever again), but I went there to check this out. They call her plus-sized! Unbelievable.
ReplyDeletePLEASE.........spare me, she's perfect
ReplyDeleteShe's got a killer body
ReplyDeleteMakes me glad I only have boys to raise, but it is a huge problem in our society.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, those ads are gross, but Kate is definitely not.
Wow. I just went to the site, which was taken down by Anonymous last week (DO IT AGAIN, BOYS!). The girl wrote a post yesterday defending the site, and...it's delusional at BEST. Check this out:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.skinnygossip.com/some-changes/
I stumbled upon that site and spent a lazy Saturday being horrified. They claim they are non pro-Ana but por-skinny. While they discuss starving themselves and eating one (healthy! Organic! See it's fine!) 300 cal meal a day. Yeahhhh...
ReplyDeleteHardee's ad are indeed vulgar. Eck, I can't get the Paris Hilton, Kim Kardassian, and Ceiling Eyes (can't remember her name) ads out of my mind.
ReplyDeleteBut Kate upton has a hot body, no doubt.
Can't believe there are sites that promote this.
They need mental help.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to live on this planet anymore.
Those people have mental problems plain and simple. They'd have to, to support such a thing.
ReplyDeleteKate's bod is practically perfect.
I checked out that website SkinnyGossip and it is vulgar and complete trash. I feel sorry for the delusional women that read that tripe.
ReplyDeleteStarving Tip of the Day. I'm aghast.
ReplyDeleteI remember years ago going to a pro anorexia site and Victoria beckham (sp) was the role model. The author or the site encouraged girls to have that "bobble head ". It's not the worst thing online but it's still sad.
ReplyDeleteWhen I walk down the street and see anorexics, I wince. I know that it is a disease that requires therapy, but they look disgusting and breakable.
ReplyDeleteEating disorders = drama. I wouldn't worry too much what pro-anorexia people think.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me sick, but I can't say I'm surprised at all by these types of websites. I don't know if it's because of where I grew up, but in high school we were all obsessed by what we ate, our weight, how much we exercised etc. My parents were ALWAYS talking about their weight, and I think that made my obsession even worse. Even though I was always thin, I developed an eating disorder that lasted well into my 20's.
ReplyDeleteParents: Please watch what you say around your children. Encourage activity and healthy snacks, but watch the off-hand remarks you say about your own weight. It really does impact your children's perspectives
I read in a fitness motivation book that a way to gain motivation is photoshop or paste your face on the kind of body you want to have. Guess who's body I photoshopped my face onto? Yes, Kate Upton's. We have a similar body shape and it's how I look thin (when I was.)
ReplyDeleteSo, just saying, Kate Upton looks perfect. :)
I feel, and maybe I am being too optimistic, but I feel that actress bodies are starting to move back to the right direction. There are still some boney gals that get work (Keira Knightley, Jolie) but some of the biggest female stars/models are looking healthier. Jennifer Lawrence, Mila Kunis, Charlize Theron, Kate Winslet, Kate Upton etc. They all have beautiful figures but I don't feel uncomfortable looking at them because they look emaciated. They look fit. I hope it's a new trend.
ReplyDeleteIn other words, fuck off anorexic website.
Unbelievable.
ReplyDelete"This starving tip of the day came from SkinnyGossip reader Chrissy:
Think of your stomach pains in a whole new light. Your stomach doesn’t hurt because you are hungry, that burning feeling is fat melting off of you. When I am out and am tempted by fast foods or conveniences (candy bars, cereal bars…yes they are just as bad) I grab a handful or as much as I can anyway of my stomach and think of how gross it would be if I ate whatever I want. My clothes fit nice and tight and if I eat I know my tummy will bloat slightly…and uh..ick!
Thanks for the great tip Chrissy!"
Amber, one of my other favorites was to just use flavored lip balm instead of eating. I am truly appalled by the starving tips of the day!
DeleteShe's probably smaller than this, but I had read that the Plus Sized in fashion are considered size 8 and up. Please tell me I heard wrong, because that's just ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteWow...let me be as 'fat' as Kate Upton, please dear God, I beg of you...
ReplyDeleteIn her own way, being a model is feeding into the system that has SkinnyGossip and other sites that are calling her fat to begin with.
ReplyDeleteBeauty pageants, supermodels, SkinnyGossip and other pro-ana sites all promote the same thing: outward beauty is more important and of value to women than inward beauty.
As long as we continue to inundate airwaves, mags, billboards, and the like with impossible standards of feminine beauty whilst showing few women along the body size spectrum and fewer women of color we do a disservice to our fellow sistas.
This is but one example of the heightening impossible pressures all females are feeling in our Western culture.
Pro-Ana sites are just getting worse. Check out how Pinterest has started blocking pro-Ana boards of "thinspiration". Blech. I gotta give you parents raising girls a lot of credit. I know ED's are becoming more prevalent in boys but girls don't have much of a fighting chance anymore.
ReplyDeleteKate is vulgar, but she looks great.
ReplyDeleteThose of you who say that they have mental problems are somewhat correct: eating disorders are health disorders. These are women who need support instead of criticism. Most women who have eating disorders only have them because they feel criticized all the time.
ReplyDeleteI used to belong to a pro-ana forum. The men and women who were on there and also struggling with their weight all seemed like good people. Everyone was caring and respectful and encouraging.
I wasn't even fat; I was in the mid-130s (and 5'9") and trying to get below 130. But controlling my weight, counting calories, and exercising became an obsession. My focus changed from losing a few pounds to consuming as few calories as possible. My best days were the ones where I burned more calories than I ate.
That was a few years ago. I stopped when my asthma got out of hand and I couldn't work out anymore, but I still sink back into starving myself occasionally. Now I'm engaged to an awesome man who I shared all this with and he helps me to not sink back in. But the disorder is still there and always will be.
Eating disorders are similar to addictions in that respect. They're not a choice. So when those girls criticize Kate Upton (who I think has an awesome body), it's because they have unrealistic expectations for themselves, too.
I don't want to defend eating disorders, but I do want to defend those who are struggling with demons. They already hate themselves enough as it is.
*karen*- Agreed. Thanks for reminding us that these girls are suffering too. It's so easy to demonize or cast blame on one side when both sides are really struggling against the same system of oppression and impossible standards.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you've made it to the other side and are happy and healthy :)
Also, congrats on the engagement!
@Sunny - totally agree (shocker, I know :-). Those off hand remarks by parents are taken seriously by kids. I have a dear family member who is permanently damaged, I'm afraid, by her mother's constant self-shaming and dieting. Her mother inadvertently succeeded in making her daughter as obsessed and ashamed of herself as she is. It's so sad. This person is very overweight as a result. She's a sneak eater.
ReplyDeleteI give my mom full credit for never commenting on our weight growing up, just providing healthy food and no forced membership in the "clean plate club". My siblings and I are all pretty normal weight-wise as adults. My mom did, however, point out when I saw her last week that I'd put on a few pounds since she'd seen me last, so that was awesome :-).
To *karen*, I'm glad you're getting healthier and are in a better place. But I want to point out a dichotomy - when people who have substance abuse issues crow about their success scoring their DOC, wouldn't people not under the influence of addiction point out to them that they're playing with fire? Why aren't more people on these boards telling these people they need help and where to get it? Sharing their success stories if beating EDs?? Promoting healthy ways to live? I'm not advocating trolling, but to let these communities just spread their misinformation does no one any good. IMO
ReplyDeleteYikes, I'm sort of sorry I Googled "skinnygossip" now....good lord. Those kids are fucking delusional.
ReplyDelete@Jasmine, Thanks. I was a little worried to put that out there.
ReplyDeleteOMG...if Kate Upton is fat...then I want to be fat soooo badly. Bring on the potato chips.
ReplyDeleteAnother reason people develop EDs, is because things in their lives are out of control - be it a volatile home life, abuse, etc. What they CAN control is what goes into and comes out of their bodies.
ReplyDeleteSo yes, people suffering with EDs - even if they refuse to identify they have an ED - really do need the support of people around them.
@Amber - yup, I think it's largely about control. The person I know feels pressured to have another child, but has health issues that would make being pregnant at her current weight really risky. I am convinced that she will hold on to the weight until she feels too old to have another child.
ReplyDeleteShe would never ever admit any of this, though. It breaks our hearts, because she has a beautiful child, and her spouse is very ok with just having one child. Anywhoo, food issues, on either end of the spectrum, are indicative of mental issues, IMO.
Self-medicating with food or the lack thereof, I guess would be more accurate than saying "mental issues". I'm certainly no psychiatrist. I just know it's a larger issue than just the food.
ReplyDeleteI'm thick and vulgar, Kate Upton is not.
ReplyDeleteAnorexics would think the starving babies in Ethiopia could lose some weight.
@Frufa
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your family member, and shame on your Mom for saying something about your weight. Did she think you didn't notice? Argh this makes me insane.
Of course what is a post from Sunny without a PSA attached? I had a coworker in my late teens who was thin, but I slowly started wasting away. We worked out at the same gym, and whether I was there in the morning or evening, she was always there before me and after me. When I got close enough, I could see the fine downey hair growing (sign of anorexia because your body is trying to keep itself warm). Cut to 10 years later, I was visiting a friend's grandmother in the hospital. 2 strangers asked me "Are you Sunny?" I said yes, and followed them to their sister's hospital room. It was my former co-worker/friend who was down to about 75 pounds, and she was there to have her intestines removed because of all the damage she had done with laxatives and purging. This is a dangerous disease, and should be treated as such :(
*she slowly started wasting away*
ReplyDelete@yawnathon, I think that telling people that they can get better only helps when they WANT to get better. I didn't want to get better; while I would sometimes despair over x, y, and z in my life, I felt like my eating disorder made me feel better physically. And I thought that if I felt better physically, I'd soon feel better mentally.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read stories about people who overcame eating disorders (in my searches for more pro-ana sites), I couldn't was happy for them, but I was decidedly against stopping for myself.
I don't want to speak for everyone who has ever had an eating disorder, but trolling those sites, even to help, won't really help that much. The forum that I was on would have automatically banned anyone who negatively judged its members like that.
Emme the plus sized super model wears a size 16.
ReplyDeleteI think that idiot Victoria Secret person that said Kate didn't have what it took to be a VS model started the hate mail against Kate. Which was just ridiculous she isn't anywhere near fat she is a naturally curvy girl with naturally large breasts. Hardly anything to shoot not to be.
These girls want to be sexless pre pubescent looking twigs because a lot of them have suffered sexual trauma and hate themselves. Its all very, very tragic and they need help not websites that promote their insecurity and need to hurt themselves trying to look an image that is only obtainable through photoshop.
I also want to point out that while my issues haven't been with ED, that I have several close friends who've suffered from bulimia &/or anorexia. What these young girls probably aren't thinking about, or aware of, is the damage this does to your fertility and ability to conceive. Each of my close girlfriends who had an ED when younger had to spend tens of thousands of dollars to do rounds of hormone therapy and IVF. I know two who are almost bankrupt from spending this money but their third round each gave them a baby. It's not something you would consider maybe in your late teens or early twenties, but this disease has massive, lasting consequences.
ReplyDelete@Sunny - trust me, I'm used to my mom and her ways. I try to just see the humor in it now, really. I made a vow to myself as I approached 40 that I would be over looking for my parents' approval, and I've stuck to it!!
ReplyDeleteSorry, but skinny is not sexy.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya, Karen. Each experience is at the same time personal and universal. I'll tell you that with my former substance abuse issues though, I had a fuckload of people in my life who would tell me I needed to tone it down, take care of myself, get help. And it only made my angry at the time. I am grateful now, however, that they gave a damn enough to even notice something was going on. It's complicated. I do understand that.
ReplyDeleteEh, former isn't the right word. It's a lifelong issue.
DeleteKate Upton already has no ass. She couldn't keep a bikini bottom on if she lost weight.
ReplyDeleteThose pro-anorexia sites are really pro-disease sites. And @yawnathon you make a good point...there are lasting consequences (for both men and women) - fertility is a biggie for women but for men AND women there is serious potential for calcium deficiency, vitamin D deficiency and osteoporosis.
ReplyDeleteKate Upton is scrumptious. She is super fit, too.
I agree with you Sunny about parents not passing issues with food onto their children. I've already commented about my mom making me feel like crud because of the baby weight not coming off fast enough. No one can cut a bitch like me like my mom does.
ReplyDeleteI have 4 daughters (17, 15, almost 9 and 6) and am overly cautious about what I say both about them and about my own weight issues. They all know I'm a member of Weight Watchers but that's to help me continue being the healthy mom they all know and love.
ReplyDeleteMy oldest has issues about her weight, though. When she was a freshman, her father called her a "fat ass" and, because she believed him, she starved 10 lbs. off her already skinny 5' 1" frame in about 2 weeks (She dropped from a little over 100 lbs. to 92 lbs.) Well, that just scared the crap out of my husband and me, and we pushed her into therapy. 3 years later, she's now about 10 lbs. over her ideal weight but she's happy and healthy (and that's what matters most to me.) However, I do occasionally search her computer's online history, to make sure she's no longer looking for "dieting tips" from pro-ana websites. Those are some really scary places. Yikes!
Who cares? Smart people like us don't read pro-anorexia websites so they can post whatever they want.
ReplyDeleteBtw Kate Upton is purrrrrrrrfect
My fav ads of all time were the Anna Nicole Guess ads where I believe she was a size 10. I love all sized but that to me was the epitome of sexy.

Chiming in to say that parents should also be careful not to comment on OTHER people's weight.
ReplyDeleteMy dad makes fun of fat people on TV, etc. all the time. He would never EVER say anything about my weight, but I can hear his comments in my head all the time. And to him "fat" is a huge insult. A lady in a tank on TV who is bigger--he'll say, "Why would you want to show off your FAT arms?" Suddenly later I find myself thinking I shouldn't wear a sleeveless shirt lest people see my fat arms. Hmm, where did I get that?
katsm0711 I loved those Anna Nicole ads too...I wish I would have cut them out and put them in a box back then, I'd take them out and frame them now...
ReplyDeleteGuess ads, I meant^^^^
ReplyDelete@katsm0711
ReplyDeletePeople care because they are compassionate, and know these websites encourage people to try to achieve a skeletal look by the most dangerous means possible. People destroy their espophagus, their teeth, their fertility, their intestines and their bowels. The people who read these sites feel their whole self-worth is wrapped up in whether or not someone "compliments" them by saying they look like they are wasting away. It's not like we are talking about Weight Watchers that encouragers a healthy lifestyle and BMI
She isn't proportioned right ..total weird body..and her boobs are sloppy and will touch her knees when she's older.
ReplyDeleteThere are plenty of smart people who suffer from eating disorders! I mean, good Lord. And it would somehow be all right if only dumb people got sucked into pro-ana sites?
ReplyDeleteHardee's ads have been revolting for a long time. I have no idea why they think that's the way to sell a burger, but I wish they'd stop.
I would just like everyone to know I just ate a steak burrito from Chipotle for lunch. Kate and I can be fatty friends together <3
ReplyDeleteI don't think Kate has a hot body.
ReplyDeleteI don't think she's pretty compared to most models.
If she wasn't a model, she would have an okay body, but I wouldn't call her fat, just flabby.
You can tell they didn't ask any hetrosexual men their opinion. I think most of us would think Kate needs some more ass.
ReplyDeleteA quick google netted a bunch of photos of a pretty blonde in porny poses. Fat? Not. Role model? Not.
ReplyDeleteYou all who are calling this a mental health issue are SO right. When my depression is really bad, I hurt myself by not eating, or by eating way more than usual. My history of having every single GI disease, plus the food issue, has totally f*cked my metabolism and my ability to comprehend appetite.
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm not eating (super-depressed), there is this strange pride in control that comes over you. Since my general 'lowest weight' is around 110lbs, and I'm 5'7", so when I'm most troubled--I have a hot model body at the age of 40. And people will always marvel at your figure, and way underestimate age as well; It does really play on your ego. The control feels good, AND so does the suffering. It's really f*cked up, ladies.
(I just told y'all I'm clinically depressed, but I'm beyond being ashamed of it. I'm doing everything right, for 22 years---tried every pill, EVERY treatment, every therapy. Nothing works. I'm over being ashamed, because I REALLY can't help it.)
She's not fat...but she can use some abdominal exercises.
ReplyDeleteI have read that site for ages, but skinny girl rarely posts these days. I think the girls on it are extreme but not nearly as bad as you guys do. I enjoy the tips even if I don't use them. And I think Kate upton is a little chunky and pornstarific tbh. Only girls really into being thin like it, it's a rather niche kind of site.
ReplyDeleteI know it must seem shocking to the cdanreaders but really it's just a place for girls wanting to be skinny. I usually just lurk here but I had to defend the site...
@Libby, welcome to my world. I have been since age 11. I am now 57 and just went through 3 years of crying every where and not sleeping. I have tried everything, too. Now I force myself to think positive and use Funny books and Funny movies. There was once a famous actor who was Depressed and nothing helped. He locked himself in his house and watched every funny movie he could find for 2 years until he could face even going outdoors again. I lost my Husband in 2009. Then my Grandson was killed in Iraq on 6/6/11. As a child I lost most of my family before age 11. Also lived in a town where most of the kids could not even play with me because I was Mixed race. I got bullied over family members deaths and they would spit on me.
ReplyDelete@Libby
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your ongoing struggles with depression. I really hope you find something that helps soon. I started to get symptoms of anxiety about 6 years or so ago. I can easily talk about it when I have it under control, but when the racing heart/tight chest and numb arms come back I get angry and embarrassed that a "normal" person like me can't overcome something that seems otherwise irrational. I know that depression and anxiety are 2 very different types of disorders, but did you seem one of my former posts about seeing the Ingretative MD? They look at your diet, lifestyle and your bloodwork to help alleviate symptoms. I'd be happy to share some more info if you'd like. I saw a 95% improvement in one week, and this last week when my anxiety came back had everything to do with the fact I slacked off on my routine.
Geez @libby and @old ;ady, I'm sorry to hear what you've been/are going through. I'm sure many others here have been through similar stresses at various points, and I think it helps others to share one's own experiences. *cyber hugs*
ReplyDeleteI'm so confused, is that site targeted to vegans too? The whole comparing Kate to being a cannibal because she's eating beef and cows are 80% human (what?) totally confuses me. I know some formerly vegan friends who said they used the diet as a cover for their ED...and some currently vegan friends I suspect are doing the same thing (because they never eat, period). But that's a whole other issue. Back to Kate Upton, I think she's amazingly hot.
ReplyDelete@Sunny, could you post that link again? Thanks!
ReplyDelete@figgy

Pony...no offense, but you "enjoy" tips on how to starve yourself and how to purge? How so?
ReplyDeleteWhat I for got to say is my Daughter went through some ED while a teenager and playing sports so I tried to keep an eye on her diet. Then she developed a horrible Kidney Disease that causes her to have up to 20 stones at a time. We finally got that under control and she got married then got depressed and attempted to kill self by cutting her throat. Months in the hospital. Then her Dad got sick. She got pregnant and the ED started again, I believe that it was helped by her Dad be terminaly ill and morning sickness. She ended up after her fathers dead spending the summer in the Hospital for premature labor. She had only gained 3 lbs and people who knew her did not believe she was even pregnant. She finally came home for a week at 7 months. The next day was her baby shower and she went into Labor and her water broke. I was there for the delivery. She was a tiny little girl and just as brown as my Mother. She's now 2 and a Doll. Some far no ED or Deppresion.
ReplyDelete@old;ady
ReplyDeleteWow - you are truly a survivor. I'm singing Destiny's Child in your honor today :) I'm so sorry for all the evil you have experienced, and all I can say is that I'm so glad you are here and thriving. And congratulations on your beautiful granddaughter!!!!!
@Sunny, thank you, some times you just need to hear that from someone.
ReplyDelete@Marisa
ReplyDeleteOne of the "Starving Tips" on that site was to say you are vegan so friends/family won't suspect you.
That's the saddest thing about that site. The comments are often, "My parents are big on eating together and they don't think I'm eating enough. How can I make it look like I am?"
Tips were like "Get a salad at McDonalds and water in a soda cup and leave the bag and cup around so your family thinks you're eating" and "Talk a lot so they don't notice you haven't eaten".
@Fantasticated I read nearly the whole blog the other day. There is nothing healthy about it.
The girls there seem hellbent on convincing people they're not anorexic.
Eating 300 cals of baby food a day is not healthy. Even if it's organic.
And the author talks about making her bf dinner and watching him eat it while she doesn't. He says he's dated curvier girls but he's ok with her "skinny lifestyle".
It's all just rationalization. There is nothing healthy about it. At all.
old :ady, I am so sorry to hear your story. I wish I had more to 'blame' for my issues---but mine seems to have started with neglect as a child, plus abuse, plus the biggie----I have BLACKED OUT memories of everything upsetting that ever happened, so I have NO capacity to deal with what I don't even remember. I've only realized that I blacked out anything in the last year, btw, and I'm 40. Now it's terrifying to imagine WHAT ELSE happened....I've even blacked out what most would consider mild trauma.
ReplyDeleteI'm still working on it, but it can be like beating back death every single day. I feel you, dear. I hope you have help too.
And THANK YOU to 'all y'all' for saying nice things, & hugs n such. I hate seeming like I want sympathy, but I always feel like I should chime in if there's a part of something crazy that I understand.
Sunny--MM is not legal in my state, but it's my 'home remedy', definitely. I wish I could get reliably-grown, for my specific issues. It's a crap-shoot what I get now. But I swear to god, my psychologist told me "I can't put this in your chart, but keep doing it as long as it helps."
KENTUCKY and ARKANSAS are now seeking MM status, because it'll be a HUGE cash crop for them. It gives me a little hope for my lil' Bible Belt state, that some of them can get over the 'sin', and think fiscally at least.
Thanks again, everybody.
@libby I knew something was up when every psychiatrist I saw would be asking me questions...
ReplyDelete"Do you drink alcohol?"
"Yes."
"Well, let's try and stop that. Do you smoke cigarettes?"
"Yes."
"Ok, we'll work on that, too. Do you do any drugs?"
"Just pot."
"Ok. So, do you..."
It really does work wonders. I don't really want to get into it but I have some mental issues myself and just being able to take a break from my brain once an evening makes all the difference in the world.
MM is on the ballot here in November! I'm so excited, hope it passes.
@libby
ReplyDeleteShit, Libby. I can't even imagine what you're going through, but wish you the best in overcoming these demons. I think maybe you only saw my 1st post in the thread I linked to regarding the MM. I actually don't believe in treating depression with MM, but if it's helping you then that's all that matters. My later posts were about seeing an Integrative MD that took a full health history, looked at my diet and did bloodwork to see what could be addressed. I was prescribed topical, natural progesterone for a hormone imbalance, Vit D (helps to stabilize moods and I was very low, fish oil, calcium magnesium and zinc, evening primrose oil (otc which helps with the PMS crazies) and regular exercise 4 to 5 days a week. While none of that stuff will help you deal with the former abuse, my stabilizing your moods and having stress outlets, it helps to deal with your issues more rationally. Much love to you, my dear friend :)
@Libby
ReplyDeleteAnd please don't think I was being condescending about the MM. My hub smokes, and I have a glass of wine every single night without fail. We all have our ways we deal with issues. My only thought about the MM is that it helps in the moment, but it's not the end game. That's all I meant - no judgments here :)
The MJ legalization initiative in Washington state has opened a double-digit lead in favor of approval. With almost no organized opposition and major elections on the ballot in the fall, chances are very, very good that it will pass. I plan to celebrate by burning one at the top of the Space Needle. Won't be the first time I've done that, but it'll be the first time I've done it legally.
ReplyDeleteNo, you're not allowed to move here. You may visit to enjoy our lovely mountains and cities (I'm posting this from the lobby of the Koolhaas biblioteca), and starting next year to shop for our fine NW sinse. But then you have to go home!
And at this point I'm annoying the shit out of even myself, but B12 vitamins are also necessary for keeping your stress levels at bay. I get mine from a multi, because my diet can suck at times.
ReplyDeleteOk - that's it! Sorry for all my typos today. I'm cleaning out my home office and butting into people's business simultaneously :)
@old ;ady
You are welcome. I seriously can't imagine overcoming all the things that you have, pretty much on your own without much support. And I agree with you totally that laughter is some of the best medicine out there. My Mom has leukemia, and she has stayed at zero stage I believe because she's always laughing at one thing or another. She even jokes that this was God's way of letting her take a nap every day without my Dad giving her grief. Many hugs to you xo
Kate is fabulous, and I hope she never caves to the pressure to lose any weight. She is absolutely fabulous with her REAL body, REAL boobs, REAL hair, REAL teeth, etc.
ReplyDeleteKate Upton is not in any way fat but nor is her figure a realistic norm for most women. Large breasts, thin thighs and a flat stomach remind me of the Cindy Crawford era supermodel; as unrealistic as the Kate Moss era supermodel
ReplyDeleteI agree wuth Sarah - Kate Upton is not a reaistic body type. Like Heidi Klum, Victoria Silvstedt, Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell, Kate has won the genetic lottery.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who defends an anorexic/skinny website, like the blog referenced in this post, is fooling themselves if they don't think they have a problem.
@Libby & Sunny, I can agree with you Libby I have blacked out whole Months from my life as a child. Whats horrible about it is I had the best parents in the World. We would come home to homemade bread just made. Dinner 3 meals a day lots of love. It's like the world decided that they were too happy and the killing started. I can't talk anymore.
ReplyDelete@old;ady
ReplyDeleteI want to hug you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@libby

I am sorry you guys struggle with this black dog, too. He's a mean mother. I'll be praying for the both of you.
Those type of comments are what started my ED in HS. Thank GOD the internet wasn't around then.
ReplyDeleteI think it's hilarious people are saying Kate is skinny-fat or too fat to be a model. IMO, she is pretty damn close to perfect.
I agree on the Hardee's ads though. I kept waiting on the burger to go down on her the first time I saw the ad. :-/
She's dating Verlander - who cares what anyone says!!
ReplyDeleteKate Upton strikes me as an "Americas Top Model" type. She's pretty and has a nice figure, but so do plenty of women her age, in the exact same way. She's not unique. That said, what's the point of being "outraged" at what crazy people do on their craziness-dedicated site? That's like going on a pro-furry site and getting all offended because they said she'd make a terrible panda bear.
