National Enquirer Blind Item

WHAT weight challenged Oscar nominee is taking spin classes in order to cycle his weight down for an upcoming film role? The funnyman struggled so much during a 60-minute class at a trendy West Hollywood spinning studio recently that the instructor thought he was having a heart attack!

  1. Can we all agree this is Jonah Hill?

  2. Johan Hill! Take it easy there buddy. Maybe you should talk to Willy about an alternative exercise plan...

  3. Jonah Hill is funny in small doses but I just can't stand watching an entire film with him as a lead. He gets on my nerves for some reason. Oh I think this is him too by the way.

  5. you have to ease into any workout slowly, it must have been a shock to his body.

  6. Yikes. Hopefully he's working with a specialist so he can do the right things and not end up hurting himself.

  7. I thought he lost all his weight on a diet of cocaine and marginal talent...

  10. This is totally OT:

I was working yesterday and this crazy guy came in calling himself the Messiah. He was very threatening to the manager. She got him to leave bc this was his second time in there with the crazy. Then he sent us a super crazy email threatening to wipe us all out. My office is on the first floor of a tall office building. We called the police who took forever to show up.

He is probably just another looney tune but Im having some crazy PTSD today. I lived in DC during 911 and was there for the snipers. Its been so long but I'm freaking out a bit today. What in the name of Xenu is going on out there! Sheesh!

Please send me happy thoughts :) I guess I just need to laugh more today....

  12. @Dia, I have nothing funny to say but may I present SoySauce - The Scottish Fold Ninja kitten? (right-click over the link and select Open in New Tab).

If you don't like kittens, sorry. I'd add other links but I'm now going to spend my afternoon watching Scottish Fold kitten videos.

  17. Is Jonah Hill Oscar-nominated? Maybe we're talking about Val Kilmer here.

    ReplyDelete
  18. what about John Goodman ?

  19. Jonah was nominated this year for Moneyball. I like him for this, and like his acting.

  20. @dia Do your ocmpany benefits include any therapy? We had a 3-person shooting where I work a few years ago. I could still call HR today and tell them I needed help, and they'd have one of the post-traumatic counselors onsite within a couple hours. Seriously, get help. That kind of anxiety is not something you should have to live with.

As for the blind, this is totally Jonah Hill. Alec Baldwin lives in NY, not him. Even when he lives in LA, it's not W Hollywood (he has a home in the valley near his daughter).

  21. I was thinking Tyler Perry for some reason

  22. I just heard somewhere that Jonah was ok with going back to his old weight because he thought people liked him better, in my case, he was right. He just looked odd skinny.

He would be a good guess though.

  23. Coriander Shea, you do realize that gaining muscle is good? Fuck the numbers. Your body can get smaller, and your weight can increase or stay the same. Go by the way your clothes fit, or measure in inches lost.

again, FUCK THE SCALE NUMBERS. It will make you nuts.

  24. 100% Jonah Hill.. poor guy

  25. Thx Little Miss Smoke! I rent a room in a gym and run my business from there. I am HR! But I will talk to someone. I'll be ok. I was just surprised by my emotions cuz I thought I dealt with this already...

Dia, please do get some counseling if you continue to feel agitated. Old feelings of fear and anxiety can return for years after an incident. I'm not surprised you are a little freaked out.

Watch this video for some giggles. It's my red pompom freaking the eff out over the light on my brother's phone, while the white pompom just barks aimlessly.

  28. Dia, it's been A DAY. Don't even tell yourself you should be FINE, because that just adds self-recrimination to not being fine. Your mind and body need to process your fear, and it takes time. So just give yourself permission to be a little freaked, but know that you can get through the day. And then the same thing tomorrow, and then hopefully you can decompress over the weekend (but don't expect Monday to be "business as usual" either). If you weren't a little freaked, it would mean you lacked emotions and fear, which is arguably worse. So just let it be that way right now, and know that eventually, in your own time, you will be stronger for it.

And watch cute kitten videos. They help too.

  29. spin is one of the classes I teach and even fit people have a hard time when they are new. The problem is no matter how much you encourage people to take breaks when they start breathing to hard, they often don't.

You can pass out of even make yourself throw up. Never in my class but I've known instructors who it has happened to. Nobody wants to feel like a beginner.

  30. Come on, this is just mean. Jonah -- err, I mean, this guy is trying to work out and lose weight the healthy way and here NE writes some thinly veiled item designed to shame him.

Good for him. I hope he sticks with it. Even more than that, I hope he stays away from the coke (which I'm not convinced he did, but mostly b/c I just really want to think he didn't fall into that trap).

  31. Why the hell do all these people go to West Hollywood Gyms? Let's be honest 90% of the patrons are gay men, circut queens and pornstars..I know of about 20 gyms from Hollywood to Santa Monica that offer just as good of classes??? I'm not trying to be segregated (yes I go to the weho gyms, yes I am in that 90% lol)...but you don't spend your nights out in gay bars..why hit our gyms?..well I mean other than they are FABULOUS@

  34. Coreander, be NICE to yourself. Commend yourself for losing as you have....you will get there. And throw out your scale! :)

I weigh myself maybe twice a year. The numbers make me nuts. I am all muscle, and I know the numbers will be higher than I expect- so I don't want to know!

  35. Most men seem as if they are having heart attacks at their first spin class. This is hardly shocking.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I thought I would die at the one and only spin class I ever did, and I had been working out for years. Some people do better on different equipment.

  37. @dia papaya - Your being frazzled is completely understandable. I hope you guys have police and/or security there for a few weeks. We had something similar happen here with an employee that was fired. There were police all over the place for a couple months. You have to take that kind of threat seriously. We had an incident in Seattle at a cafe not too long ago and it did not end well. :(

  38. Thanks to everyone for your supportive messages! I believe the FBI is getting involved now bc our local PD doesn't handle terrorism.

@MadLyb - I remember that horrible episode. I'm in Portlandia so this hits close to home :(
