Natalie Wood's Death Certificate Changed

Last year, publicity made the police department reopen the Natalie Wood death investigation. They made a few calls and after the news cycle burned out said nothing changed. Well, now the death certificate has been officially changed from accident to undetermined. And that accomplishes what? Sells more books, that's what. Keeps that cloud of suspicion hanging over the heads of Robert Wagner and Christopher Walken. I'm not sure what happened. I don't think she was tossed overboard. I think she got into a fight and and was drunk and slipped. Now, did anyone really try to help her? That is the question.

  3. The cops did a shitty job of investigating her death. Period. They're just going to roll with whatever story comes up about it and work really hard to save face. In the end, I just hope that Natalie RIP. She was such an awesome actor. If you haven't seen her films, please watch them. Especially Splendor in the Grass. One of my Top 10.

  6. I think the whole thing was weird supposedly she was afraid of open water bcs she couldent swim, then why would a couple invite JUST walken to the boat n not a lady friend or guy .., i think she got drunk cought them in the act was pissed bcs she was not invited took off in the lil bonie boat n then slipped off. The other two were prob too drunk hear her calling for help. Theres a witness tht says they heard a woman calling out for help around tht time. Ok am done playing sherlock holmes .

  9. It's the only they could do to formally acknowledge there's still unanswered questions and always will be. I'm thinking Natalie's sister Lana may have kept after them until they agreed make the change.

  10. I’ve always got a creepy vibe off Chris Walken, not sure why but there was such a bad investigation which made me think he and Robert W had something to hide. But as others have said, I hope she’s RIP.

  11. Ditto billy bob, and loving it Timebob!

Denise, the DNA was OJ's or possibly his son's. For years I have heard that they wondered how OJ could kill them both - Ron Goldman was quite strong, don't remember his exact background, but I think he was trained in the martial arts. Rumor had it Jason and/or Al Cowlings were also involved...

  13. Lizzie du, I have said this before about why Walken was the only guest. He was an out of town actor on a holiday hiatus while shooting a movie with Natalie. The movie's insurance most likely did not cover him flying home for Thanksgiving weekend. He was NOT a big star at the time (nor was Natalie who was past her prime). The only big star on the boat was Wagner who was the leading man in a top ten prime time network TV show. Walken probably did not know anyone in LA at the time so an invitation to Catalina from Nat and RJ would sound interesting.

  14. doctressjulia: Is that supposed to be your best Paul Winfield voice? "Little did the sleepy enclave realize that the main event over that fateful weekend was not the yachting regatta, but...murrrrderrrrr..."

  15. The thing that really bothers me is the report from that woman who said she kept hearing a woman's voice yelling desperately for help.

  18. I think Wagner & Wood were extremely drunk. Walken went to bed after Wagner accused him of sleeping with his wife. Wood stormed off & a short while later decided to go ashore in the small boat. She fell out of the small boat & Wagner was making fun of her as she shouted for help (boats nearby heard someone shouting abuse at someone in the water). Wagner was too drunk to realize she was in real trouble. I don't think it was foul play, it was just drunken irresponsibility.

  19. I got that sequence of events from a book called Natasha by Suzanne Finstead. It's a pretty straightforward biography & the chapter at the end about her drowning seems really well researched from all the police statements taken from people on boats nearby, from people who saw the three of them drinking all day on Catalina Island, etc.. It sounded like the most plausible theory. Just tragic drunken stupidity.

  20. Did either Walken or Wagner talk about that night publicly? I don't think they did and that bothers me. It was like they were sweeping it all under the rug.

  21. I heard something similar on NPR, she and RJ were fighting, she was being accused of doing the dirty with Walken, they had a bad fight and she fell or was pushed into the water....
After obsessively reading about lots of Celeb deaths that last month, I can say one thing is for sure...drugs and celebs don't mix well. It's amazing how many people have died because they were totally wasted.

  22. Death happens. A of of times families want explanations for why a person dies before their time.

  23. YW Denise. First time I heard anything about Jason was from my father, he was a brilliant man. Then it went viral before You Tube and I told my dad that he might be onto something. He so wanted someone to go to jail for their murders, and OJ did, just for another crime. I thought it was kind of fitting that he went to jail the day we buried my dad. He would have loved it...lol
