Katie Holmes Thought Suri Wouldn't Come Back

Throughout the past few months when I told you that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes had a private custody sharing agreement going on while Katie pondered Tom's $5M one year offer to stay married, Katie was also worried that Suri would not be returned to her as promised. There were several times where Katie had to be out of town while Tom had Suri and she always feared that Suri would not be there waiting when she got back. Her biggest fear was when she went to China last month. Katie knew she would be gone over a week and that Tom would figure out that Katie was there simply to get a huge paycheck which would help when she left Tom. It was right before going to China that she decided she would not take Tom's offer. She thought the bodyguards that came with her would somehow sense her decision and tell Tom and Suri would vanish into Scientology somewhere and Tom make some kind of announcement about SeaOrg. Apparently about six months ago Tom decided that Suri should start doing more intensive Scientology stuff to prepare her for life as a leader of COS. That is when Katie said no and that she was leaving him. Then Tom made the offer and that was where everything kind of stood until last week.

  1. I'm not a mother yet, but provided this is true, I can't think of how terrifying and sickening that must've been. Hopefully this gets settled soon and in her favor.

  2. I get her fear, and it's justified, but what other way was she expecting this to go? He dumped Nicole because she would not give into Co$, why would Katie not understand that Tom would take Suri into the Co$ world?
Glad she was able to get out with Suri, I always worried that if she wanted to leave Tom would take Suri like he took the other kids from Nicole.

  3. I'm glad Katie took her and ran. I hope all the media coverage will help her keep Suri Co$ free. No 6 year old should be submitted for intense training. That's bonkers!

  4. I think her feelings changed over the years. Way back when they met, life was exciting, she had a baby, they got married and she didn't have time to see the whole picture clearly. Time moves on and her eyes opened - the momma in her decided to make a run for it.

  5. Happy Birthday Tom Cruise. Hahaha!

  6. I can't even begin to tell you how much more I respect and love her now. These last 5 years were hard on her and she survived. I hope she has the last crazy laugh.

  7. I think if Tom gets Suri it will destroy his fan club. People will be so disgusted and worried about that kid and end up with one of those awful nicknames like Team Katie that it will destroy his career. I read that expose of CO$ 'Abuse from the Top', and presuming even half of it is true I was so disturbed by it that I actually had a nightmare about the whole thing and this divorce.! I don't even know these people!!! The book was just horrifying, and how brainwashed that woman was...how could Tom want that for his little girl? Sick, sick!!!

  8. Hello, first-time poster here. I was moved to comment by this situation. It is so terrifying! How did Katie get involved in this, especially with a lawyer father who "brokered" the marriage contract?? Who would want that for their daughter?? Even as charming as Tom probably is in person, how do you not look around and see what bad news the CO$ is?? I really hope that Katie decided that the life of the little girl who relies on her was worth more than $$. I read today on MSN that Katie was seen in Whole Foods, repeatedly telling Suri how much she loves her. That brought me to tears, as a mother myself who only wants her daughter to grow up healthy and happy. If I were Katie, I'd be terrified to let that girl out of my sight for a minute. Thank you for telling us the "real" story, it is sickening to read about this situation from people who do not tell it like it is.

  9. @Maggie, too funny! Are you referring to his crazy laugh on that CO$ video re: the 'SP's'?
The whole thing baffles me...does he really believe in CO$ or is he just a megalomaniac and in search of ultimate power? I read what Mimi Rogers supposedly said about only having sex two times 'because he wanted to maintain his purity for his craft.' That reminded me of the character from Dr. Strangelove who avoided women and worried they were out to steal his essence, his vital life juices, to paraphrase (semen). HAHAHAHAHAHA (CO$ laughter)

  10. I've been reading quite a bit about Scientology lately and I just can't believe rational person could believe all that "thetan" and "xenu" stuff, let alone the rest of it.
I don't care if TC is gay or straight, or the best actor who over lived...he is a nut.

  11. Creepy. Glad she didn't get completely brainwashed and is getting the hell out of dodge now.

  12. I can't judge Katie. Tom Cruise is supposedly very charming and she was obviously suckered in by it all. Some people are saying she should've known better, but shouldn't we all? If we all had the full picture, we might not do some of the things we have - or we might do the things we normally wouldn't, for that matter.

I'm so glad she had the ovaries to get out of this situation for her daughter's sake, and I hope she gets full custody. I'm so rooting for her. Suri isn't as scary now - I think what scared me was not so much her tantrums, but knowing that she is considered a 'golden child' in the SciTo cult, and the plans TC had to indoctrinate her. May it never happen.

  13. @Denise, you know, I read that whole book and when I read your post I realized I still have actually no idea what Xenu or thetans or any of their beliefs are. And, ironically, the author never seemed to either, she states she never had time to read them...I imagine she read them at some point. It seems to me Sea Org would be the most detached place from anything even remotely related to actual Scientology...well, I guess you can sense my confusion. Yes, Im confused about all of it, not the big picture, but the details. And as one poster said, how could she not have had this on her mind the whole time she was even pregnant? Most people in LA know something about Scientology. I lived a block away from their Celebrity building and even at 7 I was told never to ride by it on my bike or go near it, I didnt know why so I thought it was some kind of haunted mansion.

  14. Southpark did a nice rendition of what Scientologists believe. Of course their animated version made the Xenu worshipers furious but here it is. Just remember, by the time they learn these secrets, they've invested tens of thousands of dollars:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7EEOMbBIO8

Note how Southpark put across there "What Scientologists really believe" so there's no confusion here.

  15. I've always felt sorry for Suri. She is just a little girl. People are scared of her, scornful of her, she's arguably the most photographed child in the world, her dad is a whack job, etc. She didn't ask for any of this.

  16. Been gone for awhile and just returned to this insanity!

100% proud of Katie for making this bold move. Tommy Boy plays a good game and charmed her. I think she had a very rude awakening when she got to see the wizard behind the curtain. Now she is like an abused wife is running for her life.

How can anyone know what Co$ is really like into you're living it everyday? I'm so glad she got out with Suri and I hope she brings it all down with her.

Poor Suri! No wonder she is such a brat!!! They were programing her to be the next Co$ leader.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I have wondered why she got with crazy in the first place. I have a feeling he totally pulled the wool over her eyes, telling her one thing but grooming her with control.

I am glad she ran with Suri. It really broke my heart for Nicole when her kids cut her out and started calling Katie "mom"...

  18. Haha, thanks Elizabeth, just your description is hilarious. Does anyone remember the episode from Curb Your Enthusiasm in which both Larry and Richard (is he Richard?) want to get rid of their therapist because Larry saw him on the beach in a hideous rainbow thong and lost respect for him? Richard was so angry that Larry had stolen his excuse that Larry told him to talk about his new religion, didn't they put forth ''Battlestar Galactica?" OMG I love Larry David.

  20. Seriously, it's time to stop trying to sell the made up BS that she was pondering over money. Due to the pre-nup she's getting basically little to nothing of his $250m. This is pretty much common knowledge. The only thing left to be determined is child support. There's a good chance Tom won't put p much of a fight because many damning information about his involvement in and outside the church would be brought into light.

  21. Here's another one I always loved: Bowfinger. Steve Martin wrote it and conveniently called it "Mindhead". And every time the celebrity (Eddie Murphy" would encounter something that would upset him, they rushed in and he would write them a check. If you ever wonder why you don't see TC in pictures with Steve Martin, that's probably it. Even RDJ wanted in on the joke and joined the cast.

Steve Martin's best stuff is what he's written himself, haha Mindhead!

  22. How did Nicole's daughter start talking to her now since Nicole is an SP...did I miss something. Do you (all/any) of you think Nicole really loved Tom or was her grief solely about her children? I got the impression she really did think they would be married much longer. You never know with Hollywood, it's the original onion with the stinking core.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I can't even imagine.......

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think Nicole was really done wrong. She was 23 when she married him. He had sent for her to come audition for Days of Thunder after he saw her in Dead Calm, which she was excellent in. He meets her, courts her and marries her. Then she watches as he gets deeper and deeper into Xenu. I've read multiple times that the Xenu worshipers planted a field of flowers for them to run through at Tom's request.

I think there were some tense times between them like during the filming with Kubrick but they were together. I think there were suspicions she was not on board with Xenu and when she gave an interview saying she was interested in many religions, that was the final straw. And he rushed the divorce like a rocket to beat the ten year mark.

The kids were already in the Xenu schools and she probably never thought they would turn on her the way they did, even calling her Nicole. I believe Tom also hired Anthony Pelicano to try to get dirt on her and intimidate her which they are quite good at.

Yes, Tom fought so dirty that she was totally unprepared. If anyone close to that situation talked to Katie and told her to never underestimate just how far they are willing to go, she would have been well advised to do it the way she is.

And can you imagine the paranoia she must have had in the NY apartment? No wonder she moved out before the papers were sent. I would feel there are cameras and bugs everywhere!

  27. I want a tell all book from Nicole! I always thought she seemed genuinely crushed by the abruptness of the divorce. Maybe she thought she would go 11 yrs for the $$$, but Tom said no.

I really want to know what happened with the kids. It seemed like joint custody for awhile then nothing. Connor seems like he's well on his way to douche-land. But poor Bella seems lost without her mom. I'm glad they reconnected.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Elizabeth, that video is awesome. "THIS IS WHAT SCIENTOLOGISTS ACTUALLY BELIEVE" hahahah

  29. Elizabeth--whose child do you think she was pregnant with, or, really, WAS she even ever pregnant?

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think Katie was a stupid girl at one point and assumed that this would be a great move career wise. She was probably also blinded by her preconceived notion of Cruise.

I find it fascinating that she has had the balls to stand up to him and arrange her escape, something that Nicole never did. (I don't care what the rumors are. Nicole was never pregnant, so I don't think that was the cause of the divorce.) It seems very much a 180 from what we've seen from Holmes in recent years.

I hope she gets full custody of Suri and is able to distance herself from this mess. Also, I hope that this publicity further exposes the fraud that is Co$.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yeah, I wonder why Bella is living on Skid Row, or near it and talking to her mom yet still supporting CO$? How does she get away with that, or does she? Skid Row? Come on now!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'm not convinced Bella is back with Nicole. The damage is done and I agree on Connor. These two have been indoctrinated totally. And Connor apparently has tweeted pictures of Tom and Katie at their wedding referring to them as "his parents" which he has done as recently as a month ago. And they will turn on Katie too, absolutely. She will be an SP so they will "disconnect".

  34. What I have an issue with identifying with, is the knowledge that there are people serving you who are for all intents and purposes slaves. I get the love is blind thing, but how do you stand by and watch people being treated like that? I remember the story coming out that these seaorg peons were forced to build Tom a motorcycle. From other things that I have read they were forced to build him homes, serve in his house and do his bidding for no money (that is slavery folks)
Don't get me wrong, I'm all Team Katie, and I think Nicole was treated badly, but this part of the story always sits wrong with me.

    1. The reality of a cult is very complex. Remember Sea Org members are for the most part still enthused about being in it, they still see the lies as true, the ones who don't are too scared to tell others in the cult anything. Their contact is monitored and no way would people be allowed to meet dissenters. Like any group the ones who leave are painted as unstable liars. They control information inside the group. Read the book "Blown for Good" for a scary true escape story. Katie was getting her info from the CO$ members who surround her, not the escapees; just as I'm sure Katie met the "Tom Cruise" she'd had a crush on since childhood, only after time she saw the cracks.

  39. I do not believe Nicole was pregnant with TC's child, in fact, I doubt they had had sex maybe for years. That doesn't mean she wanted a divorce, they had kids and by then she may have figured out that he might play for the other team. I think there is a possibility she was schtupping Ewan during the filming of Moulin Rouge but I don't think that's why Tom divorced her. I think it was the interview and him realizing she was never going to come around to Scientology so he better hurry up before the ten year mark happened.

Who knows if there was a pregnancy, a miscarriage or an abortion. We will never really know what happened there. If the public can believe that Tom was willing to father a pregnant Katie's child, there's no reason to believe he wouldn't have fathered a pregnant Nicole's child if she had been fully invested in Xenu like he demanded.

  41. I also think something broke in Tom after that divorce. Lots of people (including his beloved fans) lost respect for him. I know I did! I think that's when the full-on-crazy happened.

Now what I really want is the TC tell all. 35 yrs from now on his death bed he will whisper the truth in someone's ear about his own brain washing and abuse by Co$. It could happen....

  44. Fr NYDN/ TMZ : re Katie

    - She has returned to her premarriage mouthpiece, Leslie Sloane at BWR, sacking the publicist she had worked with since 2007.

    - She fired her husband’s security team, which had guarded her as recently as last week. The bodyguard and driver had worked for Cruise for years, even before he met Holmes, and had followed her every move while in New York.

-Holmes is surrounded by a new group of self-selected handlers, a clear sign she is making a major break from the Cruise-controlled, Scientology-centered world she’s inhabited for the last 51/2 years.

  49. Last night Nightline opened their show with a bit on this story. Just managed to catch the last minute or so.

I think all this attention from the mainstream media, plus all the pap attention, will help keep COS in line, for now. They also felt compelled to release a statement saying that Suri would never be part of Sea Org, at least right now. The fact that they're speaking out and denying claims, just goes to show how even they feel they are under the gun.

  51. This makes total sense explaining why Katie acted how and when she did. Tom's Co$ obsession is just kinky - there's no other word for it.

@nettalovesrobin, Tom was Katie's childhood crush. She kept his poster on her wall growing up. She would tell people she was going to marry him when she grew up. The story is remarkably similar to Kate Middleton's in that regard. Kate did the same thing regarding William, as did princess Diana regarding Charles before her. It's every little girl's dream come to life and that's a powerful force to reckon with even as a young adult. I give Katie a free pass on this.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I wish Katie would hire Pat Kingsley. That woman knows where the bodies are buried.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I am thinking Katie is either incredibly stupid or just trying to manipulate public opinion.
I don't care if she was married to the King of England, a US Court is not going allow a parent to vanish with a child. That's just f-ing ridiculous.
And were talking about TC for pete's sake, it's not like he can move to a new town and no one will recognize him.

    ReplyDelete
  54. @Angel, me, too. Getting a limo filled with roses, chocolates, and other goodies after a first date with your crush is pretty heady stuff.

@ nettalovesrobin - but I think you are dead on regarding her family and friends. I heard they were devastated and have remained silent during the marriage waiting (and probably praying) for this divorce. Interesting that she is reaching out to her pre Tom publicist.

    ReplyDelete
  55. @Steppy, I think you're interpreting this article too literally. I understood it to mean that Katie feared Tom would take full time control of Suri, limiting Katie to visits, and he'd have the power to 'store' her anywhere he wanted to ensure those visits weren't too frequent.

  56. I went through a time that every time I was about to pick up The Short One, I never knew if he'd be there or not. One night he wasn't. It's like living a nightmare, the absolute worst thing in the world. (He came home eventually, all's well that ends well.)

No wonder she always looks stressed. If I'd been going through that for six months I'd look way worse. All of a sudden her poor fashion choices are forgivable.

  60. Nicole and TC divorcing was such a different time in the media. The dirt on CO$ wasn't so out there and TC hadn't been showing his crazy Glib, Jumping on Couches, self.

Katie being papped with Suri all the time was sooo smart. Everyone knows how much she adores her. If TC takes her away, I think he will be the new Mel Gibson.

As an aside, if I grew up CO$ I know I would be with them forever. These people are the best mindfucking brainwashers that exist. I can't even describe how horrific they can spin you. I feel sorry for the kids that grew up in it: Erika Christensen, the Ribinski's, and Connor and Bella. They never had a chance to know normal.

  61. Maybe it's because I'm older and more cynical, but if a guy sent me a limo full of stuff after the first date, this over-the-top action would creep me out and make me suspicious. 63. Ahhh there are so many things I can say about this! Scientology is so fascinating to me.

If you want to know more about what it's really like to grow up in Scientology, take a look at the testimonials on exscientologykids.com. It's heartbreaking. People believe the Xenu BS because they start training (brainwashing) them from birth that this is the truth. They also deal with everything "internally." There are stories of young girls being raped and molested by members of the church, and when they report it to a higher-up, nothing is actually done--no police reports, no punishments, no nothing. You actually are considered an SP if you do report it to law enforcement, which can immediately make your friends and family disconnect from you. It goes on and on.

I think Katie knew from the beginning that Scientology was a little wack, but unless you really start digging, you don't really know just how crack crazy it is. It's incredible just how much of their beliefs and practices are straight-up denied by the church. They've even come out and said there is no such thing is disconnection, which is such BULLSHIT. I don't think Katie knew what she was getting herself into from the start, and slowly realized just how damning the entire organization really is.

  64. I read the reports of that White Cadillac outside Katie's apartment and the guys were carrying guns and it had Tennessee plates. Now who's to say they weren't hired to intimidate? That is just extremely creepy. I doubt too many paps drive Cadillac SUVs, have Tennessee plates or carry guns.

  69. The sad thing is we could get bombed right now and all we would hear about is this divorce.

I don't think this will be such a big deal. Katie probably has the goods on Tommy and will go away. She does not have much of a career and figured she was not going to be as lucky as Nicole.

I don't think Nicole ever really cared about her kids with Tom. I always forgot about them being hers! She acted as if Sunday Roast was her first kid. I think that's the big difference from this time compared to the last divorce.

  70. Okay, for someone who is working on a phone for the week, who is very frustrated due to not being able to cut and paste, and also busy getting her house ready for a bunch of family,, could someone please give me a brief definition of SeaOrg and how it is "special and different" from regular CO$ please???

Are any other celebrities or their kids SeaOrg? I realized how much I do NOT know about these people. CO$ stated that a child can't do SeaOrg. I know from everyone here that this is a joke, but I honestly don't understand.

I grew up in a Christian home, so that is why I have always brushed this cult aside, but I remember during the whole Tom Crazy tour, that it did freak me out - but by then, I was so turned off by his hysterical antics that I just ignored the subject.

Due to a friend's working relationship w/him, my heart softened, but now it is starting to harden very fast. I am glad that Katie had parents there who stood by her and she didn't allow them to be pushed aside (Tom's biggest mistake). I am glad she is standing up for her daughter. Childhood crushes hardly ever turn out the way we want them to. Hopefully through this divorce, Suri (might Katie call her something else one on one?) will grow out of her recent bratty days, into a secure young woman. I also wonder if the tantrums were not just Suri being a spoiled child, but a child who saw her parents marriage crumbling, due to her father's crazy beliefs?!??

The Sea Orginazation or Sea Org is a group of the highest or most important clams. You can join the Sea Org as early as 16 years old, although that is up for debate maybe? I think in order to join the Sea Org, you have to sign a billion year contract. You have to be free of use of certain drugs. You live on a compound and work there and don't leave ever. If you leave, you are a SP. In general, it seems that the Sea Org people are ones who joined when they are very young, because they are purer. Scientology targets two kinds of people: The young and the directionless (and stupid).

The rumor is that Tommy wanted to join but couldn't join because of past drug use.

  75. She really should always wear her hair that like that.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Here's the thing about that billion year contract. I don't know how they haven't been sued royally for it. Many parents have signed their kids up for Sea Org and the kids sign those contracts. Later, if they choose to leave, they can be given a bill for $40,000 or more for their food and care during all that time and they use the contract as the basis for agreement. How can a child under 18 be held liable for a contract like that? They are not of legal age and to try to extort money from a child would be illegal, right? So why hasn't someone taken them to court for this? How can a 16 year old sign a billion year contract when they can only qualify for a graduated drivers license in many states?

  77. Oh for fucks sake, steppy. Somehow, I don't think Katie is trying to go into the witness protection and hide their daughter.

She probably just wants to ensure that Tom isn't able to do the same thing to her and Suri as he did to Nicole and their kids. Being a Scientology enthusiast, I know you know what I mean.

    ReplyDelete
  78. i don't know how reliable his sources are, but andrew morton's bio on tom and at the time nicole was pretty scathing towards them both. this was pre katie, and yet tc's level of crazy and self entitlement and involvement with scientology was pretty deep.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Pilly, why would the DNA results be reviewed? I can't see why Katie would want to put Suri through that given all she is doing to protect her.

Besides, no matter who is biologically Suri's father, Tom is her legal father. I think she looks a lot like him though, I don't see what other people see in Suri, like Chris Klein.

    ReplyDelete
  80. As Hitler said when you control the youth you control the future.

Katie is more worried about Suri turning her back on her in the future and having a distorted upbringing.

Honestly I'm eating crow for dinner because I didn't think she would ever stand up to Tom or CO$ like this. But I'm hella impressed.

  81. man, some people on this site are sure hard on katie.

she was TWENTY-THREE. it's TOM CRUISE---her childhood crush. i'm sure he schmoozed her, calmed any fears she had about some cult bullshit and she thought this was the greatest thing that ever happened to her in her life---she probably pinched herself every day.

to say 'she should have known' is crap. i wouldn't have known at 23, especially in that situation with the man of my dreams.

she was also rebounding. give the chick a break, for pete's sake.

  84. @Henriette..."Sunday Roast", OMG. I nearly spewed my iced tea all over the keyboard at that one!

Agree with other commenters on Nicole not really having the emotional connection with her adopted children. I always thought they just adopted to perpetuate the ideal family image, not because they truly wanted a family.

I am truly terrified at the beliefs of the CO$. Delusional, psychotic, dangerous...doesn't even begin to sum it up. Read about the origin of Xenu, thetans, etc., and tell me that isn't some whack stuff. They're all on bath salts.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I used to love TC until his treatment of Nicole during their divorce and I had never even liked her.

I hope Katie can keep Suri away from the influences of Co$ even as she gets older and can make her own decisions.

A UK show called Panorama has done 3 shows about Co$ which were fantastic. They are available on Youtube to watch they are called "Scientology: The Road to Total Freedom?" , " Scientology and Me " and "The Secrets of Scientology" the last one really shows you the lengths that the church will go to to follow and observe people, so I completely believe the reports that Katie is being watched.

    ReplyDelete
  86. @nancer, it was Nicole who was 23 when she and Tom got married. Katie was 26 when she and Tom got engaged, and they got married 1 month before her 28th birthday.

As a 29-year old, I can tell you that I would have been less naive than that a couple of years ago and I don't have nearly the worldly experience that she does.

To be fair, though, I agree with you that she was on the rebound and excited over her longterm crush noticing her. Still, I think that by the time that they married, she could have wised up.

  87. Sea Org is considered the "elite of the elite" within the CoS. Ironically though, SeaOrg members are still subject to hard labor for little or no pay (typically ranging from $12 to $50 a week) and physical punishment for those who step out of line. Members of Sea Org are absolutely, 100% cut off from the rest of the world. They are not allowed to read newspapers, magazines, books, watch tv shows or movies, or even play games unless they are all church-produced and approved. (You average CoS members are allowed to read and watch the news and magazines, but are absolutely barred from reading anything about the church from "secular" sources... this is why most of them are oblivious kept ignorant to the real world reports about how CoS operates and the abuses perpetuated upon members.) While there are a handful of former Sea Org members, most who get that far in are beyond the point of return.

Any parent would want to take their child and run at the prospect of them being indoctrinated into that. I don't fault Katie one bit.

  90. Henriette - I don't believe that Nicole didn't ever care for her kids. After years of fighting for custody, and then the kids have been brainwashed against you, you end up giving up. Nicole gets to start over with a new family.

It happened to my sis-in-law, not COS, but she lost custody and her young kids were told over and over how horrible their mom was that they turned her away too. Any my sis-in-law started over with a new family too.

  91. I was 22 when I met my Husband. He was 20 yrs older then me. He swept me off my feet. In a good way, he loved my family and when my Mother had cancer he did everything he could to help. More even then my Brothers. Family was not happy about the age difference, but got over it. I remember that Nicole was pregnant early on and it was an etopic pregnancy. At the time of the divorce she was pregnant again, but had a Miscariage she suppostedly saved some of the tissue in case he disputed it. I think that all the keeping the children away from her was because she never got really involved with CO$. She didn't talk about it so the kids did not get mad at her. Katie was young and swept off her feet. There is a story that TC had a meltdown during auditing and lost his little mind for a while. I don't think he ever got it back. Remember at first you saw a lot of pictures of Katie's family with her and TC, but after Suri's birth no more pictures of them together. Hopefully, it all works out for Katie. Now at least everyone knows more about CO$ and TC is not the popular draw he once was.

    ReplyDelete
  92. @Laura
That could be true, but she saw what was happening to those kids and did nothing!

Also, even if my kids said I was horrible and turned away from me, I would STILL acknowledge that I had children! When you have kids, you really do love them no matter what. Nicole has to be reminded about that upon occasion.

  96. Snowstorms-

The CoS Flag (Clearwater, FL) and Gold (Hemet, CA) bases each have what is called the Office of Special Affairs, or OSA. Within these divisions are teams of churchmembers whose sole task is to police the internet for any and every negative mention of the CoS. These member are tasked with compiling daily reports of any and everything detrimental they find and the reports are supposedly sent to and reviewed by David Miscavige himself every day. They are also tasked with muddying the waters, so to speak, by refuting anything deemed negative, denying truths that leak, and of course harassing and attempting to track down the people who post things that they don't like. When you see someone absolutely praising Scientology and saying nasty things to anyone who doesn't care for the CoS online, it is usually one of those grunts from the OSA doing their job.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I don't know if anyone else saw this, but there is some Co$-related fukkery going on withg some gossip sites. For starters, last night TMZ had an article up about how Co$ was lying when they said that Suri was too young to join Sea Org and they only took people over 16. TMZ quoted excerpts from Co$ own website contradicting this, as well as quotes from Paul Haggis and others saying that there are very young children on the ship. Suddenly, all the comments disappeared and the article was completely re-written to exclude any negative references to Co$ or claims about how they contradicted themselves. Around the same time, there were comment wars going on on Radar, with most people claiming Co$ is a cult vs. a couple Co$ "plants" that were attempting to slander Katie (calling her an addict) and saying pro-Scientology things. I wrote a few anti-Co$ comments that ended up disappearing, and then next thing you know Radar stopped allowing comments altogether on their stories. If you go on there and look at all their stories from last night and today, you'll see that there are no comments- because they suddenly stopped allowing them. I really think Co$ is threatening these gossip sites and using their legal muscle to shut down their detractors. Kinda ironic they like to quote "Freedom of Religion" when it comes to their cult, yet they have no respect for "Freedom of Speech" when people speak up against them.

  98. I'm pitching myself for new contracts today so don't expect to hear a lot from me.

However, MSNBC is reporting that Tom has retained Dennis Wasser to represent him in the divorce. Wasser practices in L.A., which probably indicates that they'll go for a change of venue back to California and seek to have the divorce adjudicated in L.A. County.

    ReplyDelete
  101. When this is all over, Oprah should interview Katie so she can have her turn at being happy enough to jump up and down on Oprah's couch.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Katie is very lucky that her father is a lawyer.

I read Katie feared that Tom would take her daughter while she was in China - um, Tom's a bit too well known to be able to get away with that. Even if he hid her at the Scientology center the public outrage alone would be overwhelming.

And lastly, as I am still of the belief that Suri's dad is Chris Klein, a simple DNA test will out Tom as sterile. I don't think he wants that.

    ReplyDelete
  103. About Katie being young & naive when she met Tom, well maybe. But a huge warning flag for me would have been after he had her car secretly whisked away and thoroughly cleaned before being returned to her, with admonitions that she should keep it neater. Doesn't anyone remember that?

And did she miss the reports of one of the contenders to be Nicole's replacement (before he got around to Katie) about how she met him for dinner in a private room and suddenly was confronted by a group of people from Co$ that Tom expected her to meet with? I think that was ScarJo.

That kind o' shit ain't normal.

  105. @Hernamewaslola- yep, there is something to it. Anything is possible, I guess. I lean toward Katie being pregnant prior to her hooking up with TC and Co$.

    ReplyDelete
  106. vega, I remember him taking her car to be cleaned right after they met. OMG how could I miss something so obvious?

This makes me think of The Firm and their security team. Remember when the boss asks for a status and the security team that tracks their every movement said "So far their behavior has been what would be expected."

He probably had tracking devices put on her car. I wonder if he gave her a new phone too on the premise it would have all the ways to get through to him right away.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I don't even know who Tommy Davis is.

Like I said before, I don't think either side wants to use the biological parentage issue directly as leverage. The only way I could see it coming into play was if Suri's bio. dad (assuming it's not Tom) sued to established paternity because he wanted to protect Suri from Tom & COS. The bio. father's suit would be thrown out eventually but good counsel could drag out the suit as an embarrassing sideshow to the divorce tussle.

My feeling is that whoever the bio. dad is, he doesn't want to get dragged into this mess. Katie would not have grounds to force a putative bio. dad to take a DNA test because Tom is already recognized as Suri's legal father.

    ReplyDelete
  108. @mngddess & @mikey

THANK YOU for acknowledging my post (yay!) Chris Klein is no match for Tommy Davis (put TDs photo next to Suri and your mouth will hang open, I swear)... And yes, there is something very off about Katie's pregnancy and that weird fake belly she had near the end. But, being tall and thin myself, I can attest that it's actually harder to hide a pregnancy (someone used this argument a few days ago, like she could've been preggers and no one would've known during their couch jumping early days -- you pop right away. I looked 5 mos. preggers at only 3 mos.

BTW, YES, I'd LOVE nothing more than to see Katie jump on Oprah's couch (whether it's on OWN or SNL next season :) Good call @discoflux!!!!

  112. This is slightly off-topic, but it's been bugging me since the news broke on Friday.

Q: Why does everyone think TC is not Suri's biological father (because he's sterile) but at the same time seem equally certain that Connor Cruise is Tom's biological son (and I do see the resemblance)?

    ReplyDelete
  113. Anonymous12:09 PM

Run bitch run and never look back. Oh except maybe when you trip over the pile of money TC has thrown at you . Blach.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Connor Cruise's bio dad is in Sea Org. Suri's Dad is legally Tom Cruise.

    Question:
    Where's Michelle "Shelly" Miscavige?

    ReplyDelete
  115. Holmes was an adult when she entered into her contract with Cruise, so while her dad may have advised against it and tried to put protections in the contract, in the end the decision was hers. It must have seemed like a good deal at the time. I'm sure not everything was spelled out for her at the beginning, but then despots like to change the rules mid-stream. It's obvious something big happened to make Holmes bail, and I think that was Sea Org for Suri, or something like it.

I may be wrong, but I think Cruise will choose money, career and image over a huge, protracted, bitter custody battle which will damage him (and his "church") irrevocably (unless of course he really is batshit crazy and doesn't care anymore). After the Travolta scandal, his recent movie failures and the memory of couch-jumping and on-camera jousts with Matt Lauer, both he and Scientology don't really need any more bad press. Going after his soon-to-be ex-wife like a rabid dog won't do him any favors.

Side note: I saw Connor up close and in line at the old Mayfair (now Gelson's) across from Celebrity Center once -- of course, he was being accompanied by a CO$ in her blue sweater/pants. He bought a candy bar (if anyone cares :)

  119. The stuff flying around the internet is mind boggling. Have you stopped to think about just how little either of them have said? Everything we are reading about on the web, in the newspapers, seeing on TV, is all separate from the two of them. She said she was divorcing him and was being followed. He said he was blind sided but will do his best to keep things civil.
Its going to be interesting to see what direction TC takes. He and CoS are taking a huge hit and its almost out of no where. Its like everyone in the world needed this one little thing to push them over the edge. The claws are out and they're ready for the goods.
Tom has a carefully orchestrated good guy image. If he comes at Katie with both guns, he not only ruins that image but runs the risk of her firing back with more truth than he or they can handle.
His handlers and CoS must be working 24/7 on how to fight this, its an absolute disaster for both TC and CoS.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I also want to comment on the fact that Katie knew what she was getting into, or should have known. There is a 50% divorce rate in this country. When I got married, I thought I was going to be on the right side of that statistic. Looking back after it ended, the signs were perfectly clear. I just didn't see them. How many of us can say we went into a relationship with our eyes wide open?

Not sure about everyone else, but I come here for the escapism and fun (it gets un-fun when the mudslinging starts... not the mudslinging at celebrities, of course, just at each other :). As Rodney King once said -- actually, his quote has been truncated over time to now read... "Can't we all just get along?!" It's a gossip site, let's gossip, not fight!!! 135. Speculating about Suri's paternal parentage seems pointless to me. If it's someone in COS, you'll never find out the truth. It is possible that even Katie doesn't know. If the insemination was done privately (doing it the legal way, in California, leaves a paper trail), Tom may have told her that it was his sperm and then arranged for her to be inseminated with someone else's sperm.

    ReplyDelete
  136. @B. Profane: This entire site is pointless... that's the point (we can't all be attorneys, or aspiring attorneys). It's fun to speculate about all of this absurdity, whether it's paternity issues or CO$ issues, or boyfriends making their girlfriends crawl around their condo complexes naked high on coke (remember that blind?)

It's why we come here... FOR FUN (lighten up!)

    ReplyDelete
  137. But, yes, that's my guess -- she was inseminated by TD's sperm thinking it was Tom Cruise's

    ReplyDelete
  138. Another set of serious/funny thinly-veiled references to Co$ are episodes of "The Mentalist" with Malcolm McDowell as the "religious" leader.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Katie was already pregnant when they met. That's why the pregnancy seemed to go on forever and we saw all those photos of a reoccurring bump. Then it was a supposed 4 months before a "reveal" with The Vanity Fair shoot.

It was all done to confuse us as to the actual birth date. There is no other reason for the subterfuge, if she was artificially inseminated they would have waited until after the wedding.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Stupid question….

Does Tom Cruise really know about all the horrible things Co$ has does? Is it possible that they never have exposed him to the terrible parts so he will continue to be a huge mouthpiece for the cult?

Where I am going with this is, maybe losing Suri will open his eyes to how stupid he is being and it will be a wakeup call. His first two kids were involved in the cult, so he didn’t lose them. But if he doesn’t get out now and Suri goes with Katie and is never involved in Co$, the church will tell him he can’t see her right? She will be a “SP”

I don’t know, it’s just that I am a new parent and I just can’t imagine ever losing my daughter and never being able to see her again. I would do whatever I needed to, to make sure I was with her – even if it meant giving up everything for her.

I guess I really just wish the best in people. I am really trying to convince myself that Tom Cruise is just a fucking nut job and not a proud member of a cult that practices in slavery, sex trafficking, abuse, etc.

    1. What a fucking idiot. Everything he is going to miss because of that stupid cult. Good for Katie getting her daughter out when she did

  142. "...if she was artificially inseminated they would have waited until after the wedding." This is the most sense I have read on here in the past 50 comments ;)

Honestly though, that is a really good point. Katie was born & raised Catholic; I don't think she'd agree to have a child out-of-wedlock if it weren't unplanned.

  143. To the painfully obvious Co$

    Where's Michelle "Shelly" Miscavige?

  144. Thanks Colleen, Katie always came across a a good Catholic girl, abortion would not be an option, Tom would have been like a knight in shining armor at the time.

I think that's the real reason Tom bought the ultrasound machine. It was so no word could leak out that they were fudging the timeline.

Like B Profane says she won't publicly disclose a different parent, but privately she has him by the balls because he wants Suri and the world to believe that he is her Dad and will pay Katie for life for that privilege.

It's Katie's trump card and as long as she holds it she holds power.and can stay safe.

  145. Question: If Cruise's security people, staff, etc. were following Holmes' every move up until last week, how was she able to file divorce and totally blindside him? Would his minions not have reported back to him? He had to have known this was coming.

  146. I think the contract was for 5 years but Tom wanted to extend. Katie fearing Co$ getting Suri said no, Tom then said ok well last time everyone hated me so this time I want to be 'blimdsided' so I can save face and get the sympathy.

  147. The only thing that wasn't carefully orchestrated and anticipated was the bad press Co$ is getting.

They would have hoped the sole custody claim allayed the publics distrust of Co$, but all the smokescreen didn't work this time.

The contract negotiations would have started before the 5 years were up, so I think we've been watching a performance for quite some time, months, even up to a year...

That is way more plausible than Katie managing to pull off such a stunt as a surprise divorce, his legal people would have know the ramifications of her setting up a NY presence and address.

  148. Katie's Dad is an atty. He set this up for her and got the law firms that are representing her. The people in the cars outside her building were hired by her new reps. They are part of her non co$ detail. This was done quite carefully, with lots of public sightings and impeccable timing. The big concern was not that Suri would be "taken" by Tom but that Katie would disappear with family told that she was on "retreat" . Tom had tried to isolate her from her family and severely limit the amount of time Suri spent with them. (research what happened to Michelle "Shelly" Miscavige ).

  149. I'm still very doubtful about the idea that the "surprise" divorce is part of the PR package covering up a pre-negotiated split. That would be too Byzantine a plot even for COS. They sometimes have a tin ear for public perception of Scientology due to their pathological arrogance, but even Miscavige would have known that the press would turn on COS in this scenario.

Anyway, Daddy Holmes could have set up the whole divorce acting as Katie's personal counsel. All she would have needed to do was sign the divorce filing at some point.

  150. To pay homage to TomSplat I'm going to start a new religion where special members join Sea Monkey (Seamon for short), we recruit new members from WalMart and partake in bath salts...who's with me?

  151. I don't think this is a prepackaged split, either. ..

    Happy 4th y'all !

  152. I want to kidnap Miscavige and forge an epistle from his office to all Scientology temples worldwide directing that henceforth instead of the "cans" normally attached to E-Meters, chrome dildos will be used instead. Because if you staged it right, 99% of COS would end up ritualistically fondling dildos, and that would be the greatest prank ever.

  153. I just read up on the Shelly Miscavige stuff. Holy crap.

  154. @Colleen, the editor Tony Ortega of the Village Voice gave me some sage advice . Whenever the Co$ trolls appear, comment :

    "Where's Shelly Miscavige "

If you have not read about the death of Lisa McPherson and you have the time and inclination, it's another specific "Holy Crap" story.

  155. Let me clarify before I go have my 1st Bloody Mary.. What I meant regarding the phrase

    "Where's Shelly Miscavige"

is that is serves a 2-fold purpose. The Co$ shills HATE IT and the rest of us who have curiosity go out and research it, just as you did:)

And now, I must have Bloody Mary..

  156. Thanks, Agent**it. I'm looking around on Village Voice now, but here's the link I originally found if anyone else is interested in reading about Shelly Miscavige: http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/359529/20120704/shelly-miscavige-scientology-david-missing-cruise-holmes.htm#.T_Tuj3A-KwE

I had already read up on the Lisa McPherson case. Also definitely "holy crap" worthy.
