Do you remember Kari Ann Peniche? She is the woman who rose to fame as the third in the threesome video of Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart. Yes, that one. The one in the hot tub. When you say hot tub, make sure you are pronouncing it as Will Ferrell would do in SNL. It gives it a sleazier feel which is what you need when you read about Kari. Kari then moved on to a season of Celebrity Rehab where she and fellow mother, Mindy McCready traded insults and accusations about everything. Well, somewhere along the way, Kari found a guy who wanted to marry her and have unprotected sex with her. She got pregnant and now has a 10 month old baby. Surprising no one, Kari and her husband are in the middle of a divorce and he took some of the hair from their 10 month old and had it drug tested. Guess what? Also surprising no one, the test came back positive. For meth. It turns out Kari has been smoking meth right in front of her child who has probably been inhaling all the fumes. Lovely.

ReplyDeleteA delightful husband and wife were just convicted here in the death of their three kids. Seems they locked the kids in an RV they were living in and took off to party - RV caught on fire due to a space heater. Apparently said RV was meth lab central. And did I mention the "mother" is currently pregnant with their fourth child? Wow.
I also have a friend whose two wonderful kids were meth babies from the same birth mom. One of her boys was literally found crawling through a parking lot at 10 months old covered in meth lab residue.
Oh, and no sarcasm with reference to these kids - they are truly a wonderful testament to what love and attention can do. You would NEVER guess their background if you met them today. Their adoptive moms are true superstars :-).

ReplyDeleteMeth is very physically and emotionally powerful. For me, the most terrible thing was that a tiny tiny amount of meth would transform the entire world into a glittering fantasyland of fascinating things, interesting people and immense beauty. (After a few days, not so much.) But the addict's brain is destroyed by use, and brain scans show that the tissue virtually never grows back the same way (coke freaks recover, those jerks). Kari Ann has demons that are intense and immense. Just as I recommended daily therapy in a monitored environment for Kim Richards, I would do the same for this crazy chick. I watched every minute of her on Dr Drew's show and she reminds me of a lot of meth people I knew in Vancouver's downtown east-side core: sharp, pretty, sexually without boundaries, no sense of worth, but happy when she gets high. This is a horrible story. Get that baby outa there!

The three kids dying in the RV happened here in Oklahoma. The parents got 20 years plus. The mother more so because the judge sentenced her and the dad took it to a jury. Meth is such a powerful drug. I think so more than crack. It's just so sad.

I knew a meth freak who had 6 kids, all but 1 were taken from her, 3 are in the system, 1 died as an infant, and the other died at like 5 or 6 i think? Also shes preggo again... Sad sad world.
