Holly Robinson Peete Confronts 50 Cent About Autism
50 Cent has never been known for his sensitivity. So, it shouldn't have come as a surprise that he Tweeted to someone that they looked like they had autism and that he didn't want any special needs kids following him. Well, Holly Robinson Peete then had a few words for 50 Cent. In an open letter in Autism File Magazine, the actress wrote facts about autism and how 50 was basically an a-hole for writing what he did and that he should delete his Tweets. They still remain today.
He is such an ignorant douchebag.
ReplyDelete^This. Fuck him and his undeserved millions.
ReplyDeleteHes such an ass. How offensive can one person be? Yuck.
ReplyDeleteJust when I think celebrities have gone as low as possible, they prove me wrong and go even lower.
ReplyDeleteSeriously that is probably one of the lowest things I've ever heard/seen a celeb say. Unbelievable. People in this world never cease to amaze me with their level of idiocy.
ReplyDelete50 Cent isn't an asshole for writing that. 50 Cent is an asshole. Period. That just made him an extra smelly asshole.
ReplyDeleteThat is one of the great things about Twitter, as you can truly see how idiotic some of these celebs are. 50 cent is about as ignorant and homophobic as they come.
ReplyDeleteStupid.
ReplyDeleteHe should change his name to Brian.
This is the mother who should be the face of autism. Not the most recent Playboy cover.
ReplyDeleteYea, Twitter has really opened up the public's eyes on how stupid these celebrities can be. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteHe's garbage. His career is in the tank. Commercials with Joan Rivers? Please. Autism is near and dear to my heart and his ignorance has infuriated me.
ReplyDeleteMy kid is on the autism spectrum. I got smoke coming out of my ears right now. And Chelsea Handler found this thug hot? How low is her self-esteem?
ReplyDeleteI'd like for Curtis to alienate himself right out of the biz.
ReplyDeletePatty, hear, hear! I have a severely autistic son, and Jenny M. is hideous and reckless and pathetic and should just keep her legs open and her mouth shut because that's the only way she has *any* worth on this planet.
ReplyDeleteDayum, Sweetiebird. Tell us how you *really* feel.
ReplyDelete@SusanB
ReplyDeleteI find that intelligence has limits. Stupidity is endless.
Unfortunately, ignoramouses like him buy his "music" and make him his millions.
Soooo, we're just going to ignore the comment that sparked his reaction where someone responded to his not releasing an album by telling him to "get shot again?"
ReplyDeletePeople have the right to say what they want to celebrities and the celebrity just has to take it and not respond at all?
He still owns a good stake in Vitamin Water/Coca Cola, IIRC. Don't buy that shit if you really want to affect him- he makes far more $ from those companies than he does from music. Even Eminem, who gave 50 cent a record deal, distances himself from him these days.
ReplyDeleteAnd another thing. How does someone "look autistic"? I'll put my angel's face up against his ugly mug any day. 100/100 people would choose 5 cent (typo and it stays!) as the one in special ed.
ReplyDeleteNot that looks are a criteria, but I'm just so mad...
I don't know why he doesn't want special needs kids to follow him. He should feel comfortable with his own kind.
ReplyDelete@ghost, I LOVE that kind of info.Thanks.
ReplyDeleteChris, he should have just blocked the guy that attacked him on Twitter and been done with it. Instead he opened his mouth and removed all doubt that he was an idiot. He has a right to free speech blah, blah, blah, but he should have to pay the consequences for being an ignorant douche in a public forum.
ReplyDeleteAutistic children are AMAZING and working with them has touched my heart. This idiot probably doesn't have the first clue about what autism is. There is no such thing as "looking autistic." Jerk.
ReplyDeleteSN: what the first person said to him was completely terrible. But still no excuse for him to say what he said. He could have ignored that tweet.
Anytime, Agent**It :) I stopped buying Vitamin Water when 50 bought the company several years ago. He's always been repugnant.
ReplyDeleteKarma should make his ass broke and back in the hood for all the evil ass crap her does.
ReplyDeleteWhen he makes his homophobic comments, there's a VERY small part of me that gives him a pass because it's so obvious that he's battling his own demons with regards to his sexuality. But there is absolutely NO excuse for talking about autistic people (or any kind of "special ed" kids) like this.
ReplyDeleteOooh, good one Patty.
ReplyDeleteYou're expecting him to be a robot just because he's a public figure. Someone said something rude to him so he responded in kind. Not the best course of action but he's human. It happens.
@Chris--By all means, he could've said something back to the guy that tweeted him first. Absolutely. Something mean and snarky, etc., but making fun of people with special needs? He crossed the line.
ReplyDelete@Chris--It's not that he said something, it's WHAT he said. Can you not decipher the difference here?
ReplyDeleteGosh, and just last week people were pretending to admire him and were hoping he got back on top of his career. Which, considering he hasn't charted for almost ten years, is hoping against hope. He was born a douchebag -- smelling of vinegar and water as he emerged from his detested and hated mother's body, to spend a childhood of ignorance. Now an adulthood. Ach. Can't stand him.
ReplyDeleteIs this a verified Twitter account, is it him twatting? I'm just wondering because I have seen a few interviews with him lately where he just seems like a pretty decent guy. Not that anyone can't be different on the internet and in real life, but this is a guy who has a dog named Oprah, and a cat named Gayle. He can't be all bad! *L*
ReplyDeleteUgh. I have 2 autistic brothers and this makes me mad. Pretty sure the oldest is much smarter than him. I'm also not sure how one can "look" autistic.
ReplyDelete50 cents was wrong; obviously, but Holly needs to stop using her son for publicity.
ReplyDeleteShe could have easily called him and had a private conversation but instead she writes an article about it.
@Worstco... FWIW, autism is HRP's "thing". She's a very involved advocate.
ReplyDeleteWorstcompany, IKR!? If I see another celebrity "look-at-me" article in Autism File magazine one more time as I stand at the checkout counter... I mean, sure, EVERY celebrity knows the way to shoot to the forefront of the public eye is to appear in Autism File magazine, but come on! Enough's enough! What a media whore!
ReplyDeleteFor those commenters who have been around long enough to remember The Nightmare Child, he posted once that he met 50 cent and he felt 50 cent was developmentally challenged to the point of being a barely functional adult. Sometimes the bullies are just a shade away from those they bully, which of course makes them all the more repugnant for not having compassion.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, Nightmare Child...I wonder how he's doing.
ReplyDelete50 cent is an ignorant fuck.
Through some business dealings with 50 I can tell you he is a disgusting POS.
ReplyDeleteI have a child on the spectrum, too & anyone one who does knows how uninformed & ignorant people can be.
Also, just because Holly wrote an article about it doesn't mean she's "using her son for publicity". Ignorance can be infuriating when it relates to your child. She gets a pass for not filtering her thoughts on some a-hole thug rapper that day. I highly doubt it would have been worth her time to "have a private conversation with him". She seems like a loving mother who is doing the best she can. And if he does have dogs named Oprah & Gayle...that seals the deal on what an asshat he really is.
Her son, Rodney Jr., was diagnosed with autism at age 3.
ReplyDeleteI found The Nightmare Child's comments about 50 cent. They were from March 14, 2011:
ReplyDeleteThe Nightmare Child said...
Met 50 Cent at my college in 2000.
He's borderline mentally handicapped.
I'm not shocked he'd say something this stupid.
...(later, as others commented)...
Oh, darling...you have NO idea of the immeasurable depths of this man's stupidity. It's actually physically painful.
...(later, as more people commented)...
It was so bad, I just had to go smoke a bowl...and then find a police officer and show him how bad it was on a special doll.
So why shouldn't she speak out about it? She may have resources that others don't have access to.
ReplyDeleteI've never even seen this magazine before, so I'd hardly consider it "using her son for publicity." If it were on the cover of Kneepads, then maybe you might have a case.
ReplyDeleteFiddy needs to come out already. His hatred and ignorance about others is just a projection of what he feels for himself. Boycott all his shit. He won't be so mouthy when he's run through his millions.
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying what the original person said was right but they wrote, "Release the album or get shot again," which is a wordier, not clever play on "get rich or die tryin'."
ReplyDelete@Chris, he could have just told the guy to fuck off and no one would bat an eye. Instead he had to show, once again, that he's an uneducated fool.
Wow, 50 Cent isn't alone in being hatefully ignorant, is he?
ReplyDeleteTo address just one of the problems in this thread: Holly has always been an advocate for autistic children. This cover isn't some random cry for attention, it is just another piece of her activism.
ReplyDeleteHe's such a self loathing asshole. I can't believe he's still relevant. I rap better than he does, if you can call his mumbling 'rap'. Such a douche nozzle.
ReplyDelete@Chris--it's one thing to be pissed over someone's insensitive comment (telling him to put out an album or get shot again? Crimony...), and he's certainly allowed to tell the poster off in this case. Dragging special ed/autistic kids into it, though? Not OK. It's a totally ignorant cheap shot, but, sadly, the kind of thing we've come to expect from Fiddy. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteSorry Chris - he could have told the jerk to f-off. Instead he behaved as badly as the person attacking him.
ReplyDeleteThis ranks right up there Perez calling Wil.I.Am (or however the f*ck it's spelled)a faggot. I expect 50 cent to be equally cry-babyish when defending his actions as he continues to be called out for his bullshit.
wanting cock and not wanting to admit it openly makes of 50 a rude boy...
ReplyDeleteAsshole, meet class.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Holly needs to ask Oprah to speak with Fitty. O did one of her usual soft-ball interviews and he came off looking like a sweet, sensitive guy. I'm sure she could help him with this issue.
ReplyDeleteNot to excuse it AT ALL, but maybe he was condfusing autism with Down's Syndrome? No excuses either way, but it might explain it
ReplyDeleteObviously the guy's dumb enough that "Why don't you make like a tree and get outta here!" is his level of insult.
I was wondering if someone would say, "But the other guy said..." That, as others have said, is not an excuse.
ReplyDeleteOkay - if he is "developmentally delayed" (or mentally retarded, or simply has a very low IQ, low enough for him to be considered 'barely functioning')...then let's pretend that his retort came from a 10 year old boy. Because that fits with the overall picture.
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, I'm not saying it was OK for him to say what he did, but it is understandable in that light.
