Angelina Jolie's mother did not think much of Jonny Lee Miller. She also did not think much of Timothy Hutton who Angelina Jolie was sleeping with while she was married to Jonny Lee Miller. If it was up to Marcheline Bertrand she wanted her daughter to be having sex and babies with Mick Jagger even though Mick was married to Jerry Hall at the time. It was back in 1997 and according to a new book by Christopher Anderson, Angelina's mom got Angelina a gig in a Rolling Stones video with hopes that Angelina would hook up with Mick permanently. Suggestions are they had sex and that Mick pursued Angelina but that Angelina just wanted a fling and nothing serious which made her mom upset.
Wasn't Mick rumoured to be the father of her long lost baby? I'm so sure I read somewhere she had a baby when she was younger that she put up for adoption and then paid the girl off so she wouldn't tell. Am I reading too much gossip?

ReplyDeleteI'm with Amber. I tired of her a LONG time ago. All I see now is a pretty misguided soul who, by my estimate, will probably never know who she really is or who she really wants to be. Ten bucks says she has her own Madonna-style midlife crisis eventually, but I'll be it will be earlier in life for her. Does anyone else think she looks incredibly old for her age these days? Like, when you see pictures of her 10 years ago, it's pretty shocking. That's a lot of aging to do in 10 years, especially when you consider she still has a few years until she hits 40.

ReplyDeleteAs much as they like publicity, all he did was confirm something the media already knew. Perhaps she was going to make money with a few photographs and an announcement, but it's not like she needed the money even then.
Has anyone ever actually written a book or produced a television show about the despicable things some wannabe celebrity parents have done trying to advance their kids' careers? If not, maybe someone should. Sounds like a goldmine waiting to be discovered to me.
ReplyDeleteI know I'm in the minority here..maybe all by my lonesome..but I like Angelina. I think that she has made some mistakes and her rebellion was a tad bit out there but she has made an honest effort to give her time, money, and celebrity status to help so many less fortunate souls. I think she has a big heart. I wish more celebrities were as giving and compassionate as she and Brad. Another thing, their kids always look so happy. I just can't bring myself to hate on her.

No matter how much she wants everyone to believe she’s a saint it will just not wash. It would be a good start if she and her boyfriend could acquaint themselves with some soap and water and stop telling the papps where they are all the time. Those kids might write tell-all books in the future. Which one will be first....hmmm?

ReplyDelete@ O'Really - when a celebrity makes sure that the paparazzi photograph every single charitable thing they do, you have to stop and wonder what their motives are. One thing that is quite obvious is that every single thing she does or gives money to is for image. She has never EVER passed on an opportunity to make it public. There are tons of other celebs who actually donate money and work at helping others like John Hamm and his wife. They don't need to publicize it or call the paps to photograph it, because they genuinely do it from the goodness of their hearts. Angelina does EVERYTHING for the sake of her image and nothing more. And on that note I think Brad is a complete moron.

Sheesh...bad enough that Dad's a nutcase, but when Mom's trying to pimp you out to Mick Jagger while he's married to someone else, well... *shakes head* Yes, I know, you can't spend your whole life blaming your parents for your own fucked-up-edness, even if they were major contributors to the cause (although she's really not done that much trash-talking re: her folks), but that kind of start sure wouldn't help.
ReplyDeleteI don't see Angie as an awful person--I think she does love her children, and probably really does want to help the disadvantaged--but I do think she's genuinely very troubled, and would be even if she were Jane Doe from Kokomo; being an A-list actress & celebrity, with so much more riding on her image, just makes it that much worse. The older I get, the happier I am that I'm not that kind of famous, because there's just no getting away from being That Person and having to constantly spin, spin, spin--just thinking about it is exhausting, so I can't imagine what living it must be like.
Whatever happened to her brother? I never see pictures of them together anymore, or hear about him. Not since she was pregnant with Shiloh.

I think Angie had a very weird relationship with her mom...I think all the talk of what a great mom she was and how perfect is the result of Angies guilt. She was not there for her mom when she was dying. And well for me that says it all.

Jon's increasing fame and infidelities drove her crazy and as a result, she did what I'd call a certified mindf*ck on both her children. They bought the party line: Dad is evil and mom is a saint. To this day, Angelina seems to believe this.
ReplyDeleteAnd Marcheline was OBSESSED with Jagger and very actively pushed Angie to respond/pursue/have sex with him, despite Jagger being married and the huge age difference. Momma Voight was vicariously living out her fantasy through her daughter. These are the types of things that Angelina is incapable of recognizing or accepting. No wonder she likes to get high.
I adore Angelina and I'd love to work with her one day. The crazy just makes her more interesting to me. She's not a flawless shell, she's got jagged edges and the eccentricities that any good artist has. I like it, it makes her very colorful in my perspective. :)
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I just watched "Playing by Heart" the other day. 1. Wow, 90's fashion was so colorful and delightfully gaudy. 2. I get the wierd feeling her character in that may have been very true to her personality at the time.
