Andy Williams Has Terminal Cancer

According to multiple reports, legendary singer, Andy Williams was sent home from the hospital to his family after doctors have said there is nothing they can do to treat the singer's bladder cancer. Last December, Williams publicly announced he was suffering from bladder cancer. he had been performing every night until that point. Now it is feared he has just a few days or weeks left to live. The singer has 21 gold or platinum albums in his career. That is a whole lot of record sales. He is 84.

  4. Ugh. Awful. Let this be a reminder to men - and everyone, really - to get annual physicals. IDK why so many are so flippant about it.

  6. I'm with seaward.

I used to watch the Andy Williams Show when I was a kid. Hope he's not suffering too much.

  9. I used to watch his Christmas shows w/ his red sweaters and snow falling in studio. Loved it. And his voice is so smooth and soothing.

  10. I met him when I was a teenager. He was at a record store in a mall for an autograph signing. There was another girl there from my high school, (we were both shocked to see each other) and everyone else was age 40 & up LOL. He was surprised to see two teenagers lining up to get his autograph and asked us if we even knew who he was. We did, of course, and gave him a brief synopsis of what we considered his career highlights and assured him we were fans...

  15. I just want to say; Please please if you pass blood from bladder or bowel, have pain, bloating changes in the way you pass; PLEASE go to your GP or if you don't have one, a clinic, Nurse Practitioner, or ER. Please never ever be embarassed! Nurses don't think this is anything embarassing, and early detection (scopes) saves lives. Please never think we're thinking "oh, a bum!" or "oh a willie/urethra" everyone has them! Look after yours!
I hope Mr Williams has a peaceful goodbye with those he loves.

  16. lizjaxe -- look up Moon River and listen to it -- the man had an amazingly smooth voice. I grew up listening to him because he was my mom's favorite singer of all time. She died of bladder cancer in 1984. Hearing him sing always brings me back to a better place in my life.

  17. Oh, my mom will be saddened to hear this. She loves him, and loved his Christmas specials. *I'M* saddened to hear it, too; he had/has a golden voice. :-(

  18. @Chilie - I love your story. That probably tickled him to no end. :-)

  19. What Vicki said.

My parents played his albums all the time. I woke up countless times on a Saturday or Sunday morning with his voice drifting through the house.

  20. I also remember watching his Christmas specials when I was a kid. Always sad to hear news like this.

  21. OH man :( I Love me some Andy. I grew up listening to my parents and grandparents playing his songs to me and I have his hits CD. He's the only old time crooning singer I like. This sucks giant donkey balls.

  22. I thought he was dead already...

  23. And with all the money raised for cancer research they can't find a cure.... why? Yes Big Pharma, talking to you.

  24. That sucks. The last of the golden-voiced crooners. Gentlemen (and ladies) DO NOT neglect your downstairs bits. As @Mari says, we've all got 'em. Mr. Munch self-checks in the shower and found a lump a couple of months ago. Went to see his GP later that day, scanned the next day, 3 tumours removed 2 days later. It can be that quick.

  25. Hope he is surrounded by the ones he loves when he passes and it is peaceful. He left a mark on this world and will be around in spirit and christmas mornings for decades to come.

And like the others I fucking hate cancer. I lost my dad to pancreatic cancer and it's just evil.

  26. @Munch- glad all is well.

I still have Andy's Christmas ALBUM. That's right,a real album.Right next to my Johnny Mathis Christmas ALBUM.

Andy was very instrumental in giving the Osmond brothers their big leap.

  30. Poor Andy. I remember his shows as a kid. He discovered my first loves, The Osmonds - mainly Donny (and yes, I was appropriately teased for having a crush on him). I hope he is getting good pain meds. Cancer is a ****. **** it.

  31. I'm sorry to hear this. We watched his show every week when I was little.

I hope he is not in pain. :(
