Today's Blind Items - He Died

It has been a sad past few months for this A list movie actor. And let me start right off by saying this is not John Travolta and the actor I'm talking about does not even like John Travolta. In fact, one time they actually shoved each other. So, there you go. Our actor is A list. Only movies, although he seems like the kind of guy that if you gave him something fun or really good he would do television. He isn't a snob at all. He does though hold a secret that he thinks about every second of the day and that is his sexuality. He is married. Been so for awhile. Even before he met his wife though he met his best friend and his lover. The pair have been through everything together. he has generally worked on our actor's movies and is never far from his side. They lived in the same city and the wife knew about and accepted the relationship. It was great for her too because she had her own interests and our actor is a great guy and great provider. This was the perfect man for our actor. Never flashy. never wanting to be out in the open. Totally accepting of everything. On film sets around the world they were inseparable. Press tours? He was always waiting back at the hotel for our actor. Those were their times. Even though they lived in the same city, they rarely met up. They rarely saw each other. It was all about their time away. When they did meet in the city, the boyfriend would dress as a meter reader or even a Jehovah's Witness one time. But those encounters were rare.

About a year ago, the boyfriend got sick. Our actor put as much of his life on hold as he could and when he could not be with the boyfriend, his wife was. Together they saw him everyday and made sure he was always comfortable. He died about ten days ago. I wish the actor all the best and hope this maybe sets him free in many ways to show the world who he is and that it's ok and everyone will still love you.

  2. This sounds like Hugh Jackman, but he got his start in Australian TV.

  3. Hugh Jackman and Debralee Furness

I think they have a genuinely loving and understanding relationship. It is what it is, and it works for them.

However, I thought his bf was someone after he was married.

  4. My first thought was Hugh Jackman, but this cant be him. He was JUST at the Tony's 10 days ago and was not distraught at all. Timing doesnt fit

  6. What a sad story, poor guy and very understanding wife. No clue??? Hi! Old reader, new commentator :)

  8. That's so sad. Glad this won't be revealed.

  10. My first thought was Hugh as well, but doesn't quite fit totally.
    That is very sad.

  12. Such a sad story, my condolences. I guess if you have to hide your sexuality in the industry/public this is the "happiest" way to do it, I mean everyone working together for the greater good of all relationships involved.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Wow. Kudos to the supportive wife, and my condolences to both of them.

  14. I can't see Hugh Jackman shoving John Travolta. He is such a nice guy by all accounts.

I could see this Bering Tom Cruise. Good husband and provider, he's a nice guy, but very guarded about his private life. He and Katie haven't been photographed together in a while, she looks very tense and strained as of late.
There have been whispers of a separation, perhaps he is grieving.

  16. Based on Enty's description can be Hugh, since he does everything from Broadway to TV in Australia, not just movies.

I did like the RDJ guess though.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm so lost...as I haven't been 'lurking' here for very long. Why does everyone think Hugh Jackman is gay???

    ReplyDelete
  18. RDJ did Ally McBeal, remember?

Kevin Bacon, not A list, not gay/bi/whatever.

This is really sad & I wish him the best comfort possible. Awesome wife too.

  20. I was reading this and the only actor that came to my mind was Hugh Jackman. Totally Hugh Jackman. I love him. I don't care what his sexuality is.

I think he just started in TV, but once he became an established actor...he's movies only. Also, I think Enty likes to throw people off a bit, so it's harder to guess.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hugh had a few appearances on Oz TV before he became famous, and he appeared in (and produced) Viva Laughlin. However, I don't think either precludes him in this case.

That said, I think RDJ is an interesting guess as well.

    ReplyDelete
  22. This does sound like Hugh. I could see RDJ shoving Travolta over some aspect of Xenu but his wife seems more about business than nurturing while Hugh's wife seems like the nurturing type. Very sad.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I thought Hugh was back with his special friend and wasn't he sitting with the wife when Hugh won the Tony? Doesn't sound like someone who wears disguises or hides.

Whoever is the wife here is pretty cool.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I thought Will Smith the entire story.

    ReplyDelete
  25. ^ Can't be, remember the Fresh Prince of Bel Air?

    ReplyDelete
  26. If it weren't for Bosom Buddies, I'd think Tom Hanks. He's somewhat disappeared lately and I've seen Rita out and about.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hugh is not only movies. He does Broadway too. Sorry, not on the Hugh train.

  29. I'm with selectivesoul. I too, thought of Will Smith. I know the blind says "only movies," and we've discussed before whether or not it means only movies "now." Also, I can't see Hugh shoving John Travolta, but I sure can see Will doing that.

    ReplyDelete
  30. What about Ewan McGregor?

    ReplyDelete
  31. If Enty had referenced Broadway and theater, that would have been a dead giveaway. I wouldn't interpret the lack of a reference as meaningful.

    ReplyDelete
  32. If Hugh started in TV, then this isn't him. Him being at the Tony's also doesn't seem right; doesn't fit.

He didn't even occur to me. I haven't been swayed that Hugh is gay.

I'm sure there are other candidates...

    ReplyDelete
  33. Most likable A list actors in Hollywood (by reputation).

    - Hugh Jackman
    - RDJ
    - Ewan McGregor
    - Tom Hanks

    It could be Ewan McGregor.

    ReplyDelete
  36. For some reason I thought of Adam Sandler...doesn't he have the same guys always working in his movies??

    ReplyDelete
  37. Whoever it is I feel so badly for him. What a terrible loss. But what a blessed situation to have and wonderful people to have been surrounded by. Best wishes.

    ReplyDelete
  38. This is a shame - and as long as the wife is ok with everything, we don't need to know anything about it. I don't need a reveal on this.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I guessed RDJ but then deleted it when I remembered he'd been on TV.

But, as people have noted, Enty sometimes uses that to throw folks off and he did add this qualifier today: "...although he seems like the kind of guy that if you gave him something fun or really good he would do television. He isn't a snob at all."

That sounds like RDJ and Ally McBeal.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I thought of Tom Cruise the whole time I read this.

Whoever it is - glad they have support around them through this time.

    ReplyDelete
  41. This one should be simple: actor who appeared in many big films (A-list only does big movies, right?) who died in the last couple of weeks, assuming Enty didn't fudge the date too badly. Find him, find the blind.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think, too, we need to consider an A-list actor who hasn't been doing much in the last year (blind says he put his life on hold). TomC, WillS even Hugh have been pretty busy.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Just because the boyfriend worked on the actors movies, it doesn't mean he was an actor himself. He could have been a crew member.

    ReplyDelete
  44. So sad! At least the wife will understand and be able to help comfort him.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Enty never said the lover acted in the films, he just said he worked on the same films. He could have been hired for any number of behind the scenes jobs from an assistant or craft service or consulting or cameraman.

    ReplyDelete
  46. If it was McGregor, wouldn't Enty say foreign-born? What about Matt Damon. Shite, I feel guilty just speculating. :(

    ReplyDelete
  47. I honestly don't know why anybody thinks this could be Tom Cruise. He doesn't love anybody except himself and L. Ron Hubbard.

  51. My vote is for Hugh Jackman.

  52. Foreign born would be too obvious and easily narrow the field

Matt Damon is a really good guess

    ReplyDelete
  53. Wow, Matthew Broderick is a really good guess.

    ReplyDelete
  54. William H. Macy has done TV. He was on E.R. for a long time.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Harrison Ford hasn't done any movies in 2012. And he is married. But he has done some tv-shows in the past.. Meh

    ReplyDelete
  56. Matthew Broderick is currently in a musical on Broadway - I don't believe he's been absent recently (I just saw the show a couple of weeks ago.)

    ReplyDelete
  57. William H. Macy is on Shameless and was on Sports Night. He also has a couple Emmy Awards too, I believe.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I don't think Enty needs to specify foreign or not in this case. It would make it a lot easier to guess if Enty said that. He said A list.

    I like the Ewan guess.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Ewan is known to have affairs, but with women. He is European and they have more lax attitudes toward homosexuality, but I don't think it's him.
He was seeing Melanie Laurent recently. If he was so taken with his make lover I doubt he'd be cheating on his spouse and lover with a third party.

  61. Maybe the John Travolta reference is a clue? Especially about the shoving?

What A-list actors have starred opposite Travolta as hero/villain?

    Hugh Jackman (Swordfish)
    Denzel (Taking of Pelham)
    Nicolas Cage (Face/Off)

    Any others?

I still dont think this is Jackman at all......hrm

    ReplyDelete
  62. Long time reader, first time commenter. Robin Williams? He worked with Travolta on "Old Dogs"

    ReplyDelete
  63. Ewan McGregor is NOT A list
John Palermo (alleged ex-boyfriend of Hugh Jackman) is NOT dead
    RDJ is A+ list
    Matt Damon doesn't fit

    ReplyDelete
  64. Can't be Matthew Broderick. He's on Broadway right now. He's doing 8 shows a week not to mention all the time he spent rehearsing before the show opened.. That doesn't sound like he's putting his life on hold.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Robin Williams was on Mork and Mindy.

    ReplyDelete
  66. actually thought Johnny Depp but I'm bad at these BI

    ReplyDelete
  67. That is a beautiful and tragic love story. Tragic because they could not live together openly. Beautiful because the dead guy was cared for.

I am sorry for both the actor and his wife. They handled a beard situation with understanding and love when the dead guy got sick.

Enty, I hope this won't be one of your reveals on July 4. The trio showed class and the survivors must feel intense grief.

I support your hope that maybe this sets the actor free. It has to be his decision. Please don't reveal this.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Man, this reminds me of the movie, A Single Man. This is too sad for me to speculate about. I'm really happy that his partner had his wife's support.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Here come the Tom Cruise defenders in 3....2.....1....

    ReplyDelete
  70. The "he's not a snob" comment makes me think he might be British...

And I agree with the comment above that this sounds like A Single Man

I think this may be Colin Firth.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Grey, right? I guess the $cientolotrolls have been ordered to sit on this site for a few days to defend Tammy.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I'm not familiar with all of John Travolta's roles - but is there a movie where he fought with another A-list actor that would fit the "shoving" part of this? I'm thinking the shoving was in an acting role, not a real-life fight.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I thought Colin Firth too, the snob thing because he has played royalty but he did quite a bit of TV in England, also doesn't Enty usually mention if the subjects of the blind are award winners?

    ReplyDelete
  74. He didn't say the person stopped working only that he slowed down. I wonder if the wife is famous also and if she has kids because I'm not sure why the boyfriend couldn't or didn't come to the house if kids weren't involved.

    ReplyDelete
  75. What about Sean Connery and stuntman George Leech?

    http://www.mi6-hq.com/sections/articles/biography_george_leech.php3

    ReplyDelete
  76. @Kim's World I don't think the wife is famous too. It says that she has her own interests and the actor is the provider. Makes it seem like the wife isn't well known in public. That's how I read it anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  77. My other thought, though it seems highly unlikely, was Jeff Bridges He seems to have taken a break from acting recently bough has been doing music work. He's been married for ages, seems quite down to earth despite coming from a showbiz family, but I could totally see him shoving Travolta. I've never got a gay vibe from him though.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Matthew McConoughey would kind of be perfect with "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days"....but he JUST got married...

I liked Matt Damon but he is out because he was on 30 Rock for a few episodes.

I personally think Ewan McGregor is A-list so I'll stick with that.

Throwing Christian Bale out there too

    ReplyDelete
  79. this screams good old tom cruise

    ReplyDelete
  80. No idea why, but Dustin Hoffman came to mind pretty quickly as I was reading this.

    ReplyDelete
  81. why are people looking up the boyfriend? i find that pretty insensitive.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Don't care to speculate, just send out heartfelt condolences on his loss. I wish he felt able to live his life openly, whomever it is I'd not care what his sexual preference was.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Colin Firth! I like that guess. I always thought he was gay. His wife is smoking hot, though.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Also - I like Tom Cruise, and I'm certainly not a $cientologist. He's completely insane, but he seems pretty humble. I never get a sense of overwhelming self-involvedness from him.

  85. I think Leslie's on to something. What a lovely, tragic tale. Very theatrical, really.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Tom C is not a one-man man, so it can't be her.

I like colin firth for this.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I can't see Matthew Broderick shoving Travolta. The picture of the actor seems he is very macho - What about Bruce Willis?

    ReplyDelete
  88. @Leslie , great guess.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Cara, humble is NEVER a word I would associate with Cruise.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Again, we have the problem of CDAN's BI credibility going into the crapper via yet another BI about a supposed A-list celebrity. There just aren't that many even arguably A-list celebs, and the blog has posted enough BI's about claimed A-list'ers in the past couple of months to cover them all three times over.

That said, y'all are assuming that the boyfriend was also and actor, and I don't see where in the clues that that's specified. Could have been someone who worked behind the camera.

Ewen McGregor isn't film A-list. Jackman would only be Broadway A-list. Damon, RDJ are A-list. I don't see Cruise getting this emotionally attached to any of his lovers, plus it's unlikely that he would have shoved Travolta.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Sad blind item, but easy to believe. So many people in this world stay closeted for so many reasons.

I think the bit about them living in the same city is a clue--that doesn't say LA to me, so wherever they lived, I think it wasn't LA.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I can certainly picture Sean Connery shoving Travolta. I think Leslie cracked it.

@Cara, I'm also not a $cientologist, and I'm also tired of people beating up on Cruise. Yeah, he's got a weird religion, but for an A-list actor, he's willing to take on an impressive range of bizarre and challenging roles. Beside, he's become such a routine, safe target.

Get a new punching bag, please, folks. I hear Chris Brown is available.

    ReplyDelete
  93. @Nutty - great suggestion - Chris Brown for the go-to dog pile target. Let's make it so, just to keep it fresh around here!

    ReplyDelete
  94. The shoving note made me think of Nic Cage in Face Off, but I don't think the rest of the BI fits him.

    ReplyDelete
  95. It SO sounds like Hugh Jackman. He seems like he'd be a genuinely nice guy, and Enty speaks of him with fondness and respect. His (supposed) guy is living though.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Nicolas Cage is screaming out to me for some reason. anyone else agree?

    ReplyDelete
  97. Cougarific, I can't see his wife being very supportive of anything accept her allowance.

    ReplyDelete
  98. @Nutty_Flavor - agreed. I am not a huge fan of Tom, and find COS laughable, but it seems like people are so eager to hop on the make fun of Tom Cruise train. I hate that people call him Tammy or Tommy-girl or otherwise refer to him as a woman simply because it is widely speculated that he may be gay, as well. I find it to be insulting.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I don't have anything against Tom Cruise, though I do think there's something "off" about him (and by that I don't mean gay, I mean mentally off balance). If he's a victim to the cult of COS, then I feel sorry for him.

If this blind is Sean Connery I don't expect he'll come out before he dies.

    ReplyDelete
  100. This cant be Sean Connery. The blind said the actor attempted to put everything on hold.

Sean Connery has nothing to put on hold because he has been retired for almost a decade and doesnt make appearances anymore either.

He has exec produced and voice acted like twice in the past 8 years

    ReplyDelete
  101. Anthony Hopkins isn't working this year... not fer nothin'. :)

    ReplyDelete
  102. Enty won't reveal this BI 'til after this actor is dead.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Ok, Hopkins is intriguing, but isn't he filming Hitchcock right now? He also seems like a standup guy, but I think this is Sean Connery. Besides the obit Leslie found, I seem to recall fairly recent photos of Connery where he looked terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Vince Vaughn? They shoved each other in that evil step-father movie. I thought JenA bearded for him, and he married someone out of the entertainment business and low key. He's a great guy, too - casual, out of spot light, and hasn't been doing much lately at all.

    ReplyDelete
  105. And the commenters are the ultimate reason I've always loved this site!
    Hmmmm.

And so don't care; since if my neighbor or best friend died it wouldn't be tabloid fodder...unless I was involved with them.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I'm going to toss a random guess in the air and say Ben Stiller. He hasn't been around for a while (beyond Tower Heist) and has really only done movies, right?

Disclaimer: I have no idea if he's well-liked.

    ReplyDelete
  107. NOT Sean Connery. He's a know a-hole and treats "the little people" like crap. I can rattle off stories, but will refrain. He's an jerk and doesn't fit the "isn't a snob" comment.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Hugh is in the daily photos but I still call bs on him.

  110. It baffles me that anyone thinks Colin Firth is gay. He is a well-documented woman chaser (oh, that he would chase me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Just because he's played gay doesn't mean he is. Do you really think all the times he cheated on his wife (including getting Meg Tilly pregnant during) was a cover? Methinks not.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Josh Brolin? Had nothing that came out in 2011.

    Called out Scientology/John Travolta: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/02/07/josh-brolin-scientology-really-fking-bizarre_n_819750.html

  112. Stiller is too much an asshole to care that much about someone else.

Connery isn't A-list, Hopkins is no longer A-list, Vaughn isn't A-list. Film A-list means that you can greenlight a major film with your name alone. There's only 10-12 film A-list'ers at any one time.

Frankly, don't expect anyone here to buy the idea that you're not a Scieno, you just think that Cruise gets unfairly slandered. That's crap. We know you're COS shills. STFU and go away.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Jocasta, that's very sweet! I love most of the commenters here, and ignoring the rude ones is the best way to keep it a happy place.

I think this is a very hard blind item for a reason, but I really do hope whoever it's about finds some peace. I can't imagine losing a lifelong partner who I never truly got to be with.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Do you really think all the times he cheated on his wife (including getting Meg Tilly pregnant during) was a cover?

?! Colin Firth was not married when he was with Meg Tilly--he was with Meg Tilly, lived with her for a time in British Columbia. The son is in his early 20s now. Firth married his wife Livia in the late 90s, shortly after the BBC Pride & Prejudice. He and Livia have two sons.

If any actor wasn't afraid to come out as gay or bi, it'd be Firth. He's made no bones about his acceptance of equality.

Whoever this involves, I feel for them. I'm glad they had an arrangement that works for them, and I wish the actor and his wife all the best.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I thought Hugh too. I will add that at the performance I saw of "Boy From Oz", Hugh introduced John Travolta and his wife, who were sitting in about the fifth row. They both stood up and waved to the cheering crowd. Now, he still may not like John Travolta, but he certainly doesn't want to give that impression. And why would John attend his play if they'd been in a shoving match?

    ReplyDelete
  119. (Plus, Firth has worked non-stop all year. Just left Queensland (I think) filming scenes for The Railway Man.

    ReplyDelete
  120. When I started reading the blind I thought it was Hugh Jackman. But then I remembered that his business partner, and rumored lover, either lived on his property or next door to him in his Australian home. Or somewhere close to him. Therefore this cannot be Hugh.
Ewan could be a reasonable guess. He is bi and has an open marriage. Otherwise, I got nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  121. @B. - not trying to be argumentative, I promise, but don't you think a Connery or a Hopkins has earned permanent A list status? I mean, if there was an Acting Hall of Fame, they'd surely be in there.

And I know that an Oscar doesn't guarantee permanent A - I totally get that. But these two's lifetime body of work should earn both of them permanent A, in my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Frufra, it's strange sometimes to see people say who is and is not an A list celebrity based on their own perception. When trying to solve a blind, it only matters who the author of the blind thinks is A list.

Like you, I think Connery and Hopkins would be considered A list by Enty. He's given clues in the past, hasn't he, for how he ranks these things? And an Academy Award usually means a higher ranking.

    1. Don't know much about him, but he sure seems like a very nice person. Can't imagine him shoving John Travolta.

  124. This just makes me very sad for whomever the actor is. I am glad that he took time off to help his lover. And I am touched that his wife was able to be there for both of them as well. I wish them the best right now.

  125. I totally got it.

    Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

He only did two things in all of 2011 according to IMDB, and he's been with his woman for like 15 years. I think the "fudging" on Enty's part is they don't seem to be technically married.

  126. My heart goes out to him and I give him and the man's family my condolences. <3

  127. Princess, I was thinking possibly him as well.

  128. Vince Vaughn has been filming a moving and performed at the "Just for Laughs" comedy festival in Chicago last weekend...plus, he's not A-List. A-, maybe.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Phillip Seymour Hoffman has been on Broadway for the past several months in Death of a Salesman. He was at the Tony's for it a couple weeks ago.

  130. @Princess
I saw Phillip Seymour Hoffman on Monday night out to dinner here in NYC. He didn't appear to be "grieving" at all.. then again it wouldn't necessarily mean a person grieving is constantly in tears.

  131. Or although he's been on tv, Steve Martin?

  132. Not sure what's up with all the Sean Connery guesses but blind says the person is "not a snob" and Enty makes it sound like this person is not a jerk...Sean Connery is a known snob, jerk, woman-beater, sexist pig. I really don't think this is him.

  133. I think the real story here is why John Travolta got shoved.

  134. Nutty - you have quickly become one of my fav commenters here. Tom has always impressed me with his willingness to work with the best filmmakers in history - Spielberg, Coppola, Scorsese, DePalma and the god of cinema itself - Kubrick. He is and has been a very, very good actor. In terms of celebrity scandals his life has been pretty tame compared to a lot of other people's. The man has talent, he earned his rep in the industry for his intense work ethic. Harrison Ford is the same way - they believe in showing up on time, knowing you're stuff, contribute, don't complain and work hard. Can you imagine either of these guys putting up with Lindsay on their watch? Now, some of Tom's beliefs freak me out - especially that whole "I'm here to help everybody because it's my duty." way of thinking, but in the end he's not hurting anybody by believing that.

  135. Enty has always gone by the Ullman List definition of who is an A-list celebrity, the main criterion being whether they can greenlight a major film on their own or regularly appear above the credits in major films. It's not an individual perception. It's the standard that Hollywood agents and producers use when negotiating film deals. Makes sense that Ur-Enty would heed that standard. I don't think that Ur-Enty wrote this BI but let's not wrangle over that again....

Phil Hoffman, for example, on strict box-office appeal would be a B+-list star, but since he's won an Oscar, sure, he's close enough to be a candidate for this BI. Connery? Hasn't been A-list in decades. When Enty refers to someone who is A-list through enduring fame, like a Paul Newman, he says something like "will always be A-list."

It's not an implausible BI, but the list of plausible candidates is pretty small.

    ReplyDelete
  136. It's Samuel L. Jackson. He slowed down as much as he could but he couldn't stop due to his Nick Fury obligations. He's been married since 1980. He's A list.

He worked with Travolta on pulp fiction, and they easily could have not liked each other.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Tom Cruise doesn't fit. The BI doesn't mention kids.
Same for Will Smith. And he's done TV.
Tom Hanks has done TV, back in the day, plus he had kids. He's mainly producing these days.
Matthew Broderick is on Broadway, as previously mentioned.
Hugh Jackman's and RDJ's have been pretty busy, too.
Nick Cage has had multiple marriages.
We need someone's who been married for a while. Possibly with no children. Someone's who's generally loved by the public.

I'm wondering, however, how one dresses up as a Jehovah's Witness, as the one's I've seen just seem to wear Sunday Church clothes?

  138. im going with tom hanks ftw. i think he and rita are a good couple, but better friends. my guess is, according to imdb, maybe he didn't want to "scar" his children with multiple step families and fathers. maybe rita was willing to provide cover that his first wife wouldn't (rip). rita truly could be his bosom buddy, bearding for him in return for a family. knowing from the beginning let the adults come together kinda like "big love." whoever this is, i offer my condolences, and wifey, you rock for your understanding and support! ps-dont reveal this one enty. its tragic enough

  140. I could see it being Sandler. He's very loyal to his friends and pretty quiet in his private life. Not counting SNL as "TV" would be a minor fudge.

    ReplyDelete
  141. I think this is a very sweet story. It is sad that the actor has to cover his relationship, but, on the other hand, it seems to be a rare luxury for a celebrity to have a private life that stays private. I'm glad that the actor's wife also had an affectionate relationship with his lover. At the end of his life, this unknown man was surrounded by people who loved him, and that's beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  142. I'm going with Robert De Niro.

  143. I could see Tom Hanks. He has something very secretive about him.

  144. I know someone who worked with Bobby. Never got that vibe off of him. But who knows?

  145. I take it back, several websites refer to Phillip Seymour Hoffman's "wife" and this blog about an encounter with him says he asked the waitress for a panna cotta for "my wife".
    http://amandathrockmorton.wordpress.com/2011/08/18/my-moment-with-philip-seymour-hoffman/
Re-read the blind assuming it was him and everything sure fits.

    ReplyDelete
  146. I read this as Adam Sandler. SNL could be the fudge and he always gave his friends parts in his movies.

    Connery will ALWAYS be A-list.

Just because Enty didn't mention children in the Blind, doesn't mean there aren't any.

If an celebrity/actor/singer/whomever is considered A+, A, or A-, it's still part of the A-list realm.

Read between the lines; Enty isn't going to spell it out for us or else it won't be a blind!

  147. It seems to me they made a nice life inside the glasshouse that is Holywood, good on all three of them, whoever they are, sounds like they're good people.

    ReplyDelete
  148. B., you make a valid point with "always be A list" as an important Enty designation.

    But I still think it's SC :-).

  149. I hate that people call him Tammy or Tommy-girl or otherwise refer to him as a woman simply because it is widely speculated that he may be gay, as well. I find it to be insulting

Well, I don't care if people insult him, especially ones on a gossip site. That's kind of par for the course. But I dislike the "Tammy"s and such, too, because, whoever he may be fucking, it doesn't make him a woman or less than a man. It's insulting to gays and women in one fell swoop.

    ReplyDelete
  150. I agree with those who want this kept private. I also think Tom Cruise is unfairly maligned and I'm an atheist.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Tom Cruise is A+ and i dont care what anyone says about him ,i love him just the same and always will.

  152. i have no idea who the guy is, at first thought it was Hugh Jackman , not sure now

  153. Condolences to the actor, his wife and the guy's family :( It seems like a sweet arrangement with a sad ending.

    Wow lots of fantastic guesses!
I thought the shoving comment was part of a movie that Travolta and the actor were in and not a shoving match outside the movies.

  154. Anonymous7:36 PM

Hugh has been all over the news showing off his body while swimming and in NY with his daughter.

I vote for Kevin Spacey. Known to be gay, is always with his family (kids went to my sister's school and he would often drop of the kids) and he's been on broadway.

  156. Ben Stiller, RDJ, Hugh Jackman, and Tom Hanks have all done TV.

Ben Stiller had a short lived talk show & a cameo in Extras. RDJ was on Ally McBeal. Tom Hanks got his start on Bosom Buddies, produces shows for HBO, and has also done cameos on 30Rock. (He also did a very funny Toddlers & Tiara on Jimmy Kimmel if anyone needs something funny to watch on youtube).

Hugh Jackman, I don't know a lot about his background other than reading he started on a soap opera.

    ReplyDelete
  157. @Sean,the blind says the actor is married.Spacey is not married and he has no children.

    ReplyDelete
  158. PS, you might just be onto something with your Vince Vaughn guess. He opens movies and it all seems to fit.

Also: fyi, Ewan McGregor guested on ER back in the day.

Condolences to this actor, his wife, and the actor's loved one's family. I wonder if the deceased loved one's family ever knew about their relationship.

  163. Geez, does anyone read?
Depp was on 21 Jump St, T Hanks on BBuddies, R Williams - Mork & Mindy, A Sandler - SNL, RDJ - Ally McBeal,K Bacon - some soap opera.
I don't think Travolta and Cruise dislike each other.
Would anyone consider V Vaugh A List?
And B Profane - you are an ass.

  164. I like Anthony Hopkins as a guess. He has a few Oscars.

Robert De Niro could be a possibility, but it doesn't quite fit for some reason.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Just a lurker here but Vince Vaughn is the 1st name to come to mind.

    ReplyDelete
  166. A grim way to search, but using IMDB and dates of death there are a few possibles:

George Leech: Stuntman on tons of James Bond movies, starting with Dr. No. That filming would have been years before Connery married Micheline Roquebrune, a painter. While I haven't heard any rumors of him being gay, playing James Bond in the 60s/70s would be a great cover. No cause of death was listed for George. They both live(d) in the UK. (That George was only involved with the Bond movies could be at Connery aged, he needed less stuntmen?)

    An even farther reach:

J Michael Riva: Art Direction for multiple blockbusters, spiderman, Ironman. But he passed 1-2 weeks after having a stroke. Probably far to short a time to "get sick".

No one else (listed on IMDB)has multiple movies with A listers.

All the best to the families and friends involved, whoever they may be.

  174. To everyone worried about the Reveal- Enty doesn't out people.
This reads like someone that Enty genuinely likes which should narrow it down considering he doesn't seem to like many celebs.
While reading this I was thinking RDJ. Now I'm thinking Phil Hoffman. Regardless of who it is my thoughts are with that person, I hope they find peace soon.
Can't be Sean Connery (no body likes him) he's as male shovanistic(sp?) as it gets. Remember he did once say there's nothing wrong wiht smacking a woman around alittle to keep her in line.
