I have to tell you that as much as I dislike actually watching The Bachelor or Bachelorette, I find the casting process fascinating and I love that Roberto Martinez is being considered as the next Bachelor because it is driving Ali Fedotowsky crazy. She is the one who broke up with Roberto to focus on her career in Los Angeles. She thinks she will be a huge star and living two hours away from LA was not going to allow her to fulfill her dream. If she was not happy, then more power to her and I'm happy for her. What kills her though is that Roberto might actually become a star now instead of her if he is the next Bachelor. Plus he might find love. I say might, because lets face it, the odds are slimmer than Lindsay Lohan giving up smoking or lip injections or wearing a bra or not stealing anymore or getting into accidents or giving up drinking or fighting her mom for the same guys.
To have him famous and find love is too much for her. It's like Disney is giving it to him because Ali failed to do what the bosses wanted. They want marriages.
Also this solve lil problem of never having a minority lead for crappy show.

ReplyDeleteThe last bachelor was horrible, and Roberto sucks almost as much. I couldn't believe Ali picked him. I admit I enjoy the show, but who's casting this? Aren't there any interesting men out there? Why are you casting only skeevy jerks lately? Jake and Jason were the last semi-decent, viewing wise.

It's absolutely terrible television, but it's like a car wreck and I can't look away sometimes. But why can't they find people that are INTERESTING and fun to watch? This Emily character is so boring, so was Ben, so was Ali, etc. The only one I actually found funny was Jillian. God I can't believe I'm admitting this...

Ali is a complete bitch and phony. She briefly did some freelance work at the TV station one of my siblings works at and is totally full of herself and really thinks she's a star. She even thought it was okay to park in the HANDICAP parking space and threw a fit when she was told she had to move her car!

ReplyDelete@tara17 - I thought Jake was an awful Bachelor, whiny weasel - but I still watch this almost every season. Met Ben in real life and he was much more attractive. Granted this was before he was named the Bachelor and sadly - had it not been for Crazy Courtney, I might not still be watching.
Yeah, who am I kidding. I love this show and thankfully my gf's and female family members do too. Granted we make fun of it, but this is my favorite mindless tv - the bachelor franchise!!

ReplyDeleteThey pick this guy because he was previously on the show and they have found that this formula works really well. People are already connected with the guy and that drives the storyline and attracts viewers of the show - of which there are many.
I find it interesting that HE wants to do this because the story out there was that she was too much into show business and he wasn't and "concentrating on his insurance career and friends in San Diego". I mean you can be an insurance guy anywhere so why didn't they just move to LA. So she's the Hollywood career freak but now he's doing the Bachelor?
Maybe you all should quit bashing Ali so much.
