Reese Witherspoon's Dad Bigamy Case Is Getting Interesting
When we first heard about Reese Witherspoon's dad getting married despite still being married to Reese's mother, the reports all portrayed him as a victim. I think he still is and does apparently suffer some dementia. That would explain why he thought he could get married and why he was convinced to take out $400K in loans with his new "wife." There is another side to the story though. The media in Nashville has been filing motion after motion to get court documents unsealed and to allow television cameras in the courtroom for future hearings. One of the documents they obtained was a declaration from Reese's mom and it said the couple split because of his alcoholism, infidelity, overspending and hoarding." You know, all the people I have ever seen on Hoarders are generally not very wealthy. Can you imagine if you had a ton of money to spend and are a hoarder. You could get even more stuff in your house and maybe it would be higher quality. Plus, you hopefully would not find any dead cats. Reese sure has been nice to her dad over the years despite all the things he has done.
The last line of this felt like a reveal of some sort. Anyone have an idea/link to what, exactly?
ReplyDeleteUh, Enty, see Tori Spelling's mom and Parisite Hilton.
ReplyDeleteThis has to be a really hard situation to handle. I hope they can do so with out having tv cameras shoved in front of their faces inside the courtroom.
ReplyDeletewhat Lauren said.
ReplyDeleteWhat grow said.
DeleteThis site is sure soft on Reese Witherspoon. So it's revealed that her parents perfect marriage has been a lie for more than 15 years? And how must it have been growing up in that household? Still the happy Southern family she's always promoted? Sure RW has been extra nice to her dad and her mother, trying to cover up this situation. Now it's exploded in her face. She never seems to have seen that it was bound to happen. Probably thought daddy would kick off first. BTW the public right to know about this case is concerning the conservatorship, not the marriage woes. I thought Enty is a lawyer. Should know about conservatorship abuse.
ReplyDeleteWhy would this even be talked about? It's their private family life, why should we judge how Reese feels about her dad or how she treats him?
ReplyDeleteI get that this is a gossip site but I think this is a bit much. She's not one of those celebrities that constantly puts herself out there, I think she deserves some privacy.
My mother is a fruit loop, always has been. Whatever she does really has nothing to do with me, and I don't want it to reflect on me. It's had to control parents.
ReplyDelete@tt - where do you get that this is conservatorship abuse? My understanding is that Reese and her mom are just now filing for conservatorship, in response to his actions recently. The only abuse here is from the woman who married him and is taking out loans in his name, and he for commuting bigamy. Any public right to know here would be based on bigamy.
ReplyDeleteIt's a southern trait to paste on a smile even if things are falling apart behind you. Big whoop. I don't see why anyone should judge Reese or her mom badly for how they react.
Hoarding?
ReplyDeleteSaddest episode of Clean Sweep ever was Chunk's mother and sister
(Chunky from Goonies) Loved him, but she was one nasty beast.
Mother-Daughter Disaster
Season 1 Episode 58
Aired date: Jun 26, 2004
I don't think that anyone should be airing the dirty laundry of rw's parents. its tragic. not entertainment.
ReplyDelete@TT, Seems like you must be the father's second wife or friends of her. There was no reason for the tone of your post. Feel free to now go off on me. I am not being sassy just didn't understand the harsh stance you just took if it was someone you didn't know.
ReplyDeleteAt what age EXACTLY can one expect to STOP being embarrassed by their parental units.
ReplyDeleteThe judge chose to seal the entire case history. Don't know why (don't know nor care). Maybe that is unusual.
ReplyDeleteI thought they had been legally separated for years and years -- I mean approaching a decade or something. I'm with the Nashville media on this. This is super fishy -- why aren't they divorced so he can marry the woman he's been with? Reese? And who in hell wants the person they've been separated from for years and years to have any say in who they see, much less move to TAKE CONSERVATORSHIP over their finances etc? That is some scary control-freak shit right there.
ReplyDeleteI don't see anything "fishy" about this. He also chose not to get a divorce. They were separated, but still saw each other for family gatherings/events. Apparently it worked for them, because he didn't file for divorce either. Sometimes, some people would rather keep things civil than go to court and try to divide assets. Reese's dad now has dementia -- Reese is absolutely 100% the person who should be applying for conservatorship, and if she chooses, along with his separated but not divorced wife. The house may still be in both their names, as might other financial assets.
ReplyDeleteIt seems every time there is a post about a celebrity's parent home going into foreclosure or owing money everyone jumps all over that celebrity, but here RW is doing what she can to help her father and yet she is criticized (by some)? I think it just goes to show no matter how rich and famous one is, family situations can be complicated, difficult, and colored grey. I can't imagine how hard this has been for RW, and I think her family deserves privacy in this case. As mentioned above, she has never been a celebrity who regularly spills the details of her private life, and it should come as no surprise she would want to treate this situation the same.
ReplyDeleteRe the 400k loan
ReplyDelete"My husband's spending practices have accelerated," her (the legal wife) affidavit says. "I now understand that he may have borrowed $400,000 at Bank of America and either forged my name or had his girlfriend posing as his wife sign."

For what it is worth, Dr. Witherspoon operated on one of my Facebook friends the WEEK before all of this became public. He removed her tonsils and adnoids. Clearly, the hospital where he works didn't think he was incapacitated or he wouldn't have still been doing surgeries. My friend said she didn't see anything wrong with him, and liked him as a doctor.
ReplyDeleteI have seen a couple episodes of Hoarders where the people were wealthy. There was one family in Beverly Hills and another guy who hoarded designer clothing, etc.
ReplyDeleteIt was a reveal of a post about a woman who had been fucked by her father, fucked her way up the ladder on casting couches, fucked around on her husband, etc...
ReplyDeleteI got much more interested once I heard about the Hoarding. Now I want to know more.
