#8 what a gorgeous Malamute(sorry Sylvia, I think you confused it. Maybe I am wrong though.) #1 Looks like the singer Jody Whatley and everyone looks grand!!
Reader #1. You are so damn beautiful, I now want to put makeup on even though I am cleaning my house all day. I don't want to be too stalkerish, but do you work for a mag? It looks like there are maybe layouts pinned up on the wall, and for years I wanted to work for a fashion magazine in NYC
#2 What an awesome pin-up pose! And you look like one of the real USA soccer players - Brandi Chastain? Busted!
#3. Your beauty is breathtaking. And if I ever decide to start dressing my age, I'm going to pinch your style
#4. Clearly you are a glamourous romance novelist (a la Danielle Steele) who only reads this site to compile details for your next book's heroine
#5. I hope you have this incredible picture hanging in your house somewhere. Your beautiful smiles are priceless, and really show how much your little guy adores you
#6. I wish I were as cool as you!!!! I am serioiusly going to practice this look in the mirror for the next time someone will take my picture (which seems to only happen on Mother's Day when I force someone to take my damn photo). You are a cutie
#7. Holy cow. You look just like that pretty blonde actress on Community. Busted again!
#8. And I thought my dogs were enormous!! I love how your photo captures the joy our animals can bring us
#9. What what what? Do all these good looking kids belong to you and your hubby? You must have the most awesome (and loud) dinner conversations. And God bless you if these are foster children (I only say that because they seem so close in age. Maybe you were blessed with double sets of twins like my father-in-law's family!!)
#10. What a creative photo you sent in! Did you make it onto the news? P.S. Your sweater makes me happy
@ Jason - oh, she's a cutie all right. Just really thought you might be up for it. Truly not an insult or slight. It would be cool to have a CDAN Love Connection ( I'll be back in 2 and 2)!
Guess where #10 was taken? It was the Stewart/Colbert "Rally to Restore Sanity (and/or Fear)" in Washington, DC, 10/30/2010. You can see the Washington Monument in the background, left.
The rally was just wonderful---EVERYONE was so non-partisan, they had funny, nonsensical signs, Stewart & Colbert were perfect, it was SO much fun. There was a huge crowd, but EVERYONE was there in such a spirit of 'Can't we all just get along?' No blatant politics, no rowdiness, no shoving. We were all 'Canadian-nice' that day.
THEN---At the end as my BF & I were leaving, 'Darth Boehner' showed up, and I jokingly yelled at him that his mask should be orange. I was a little let down that he was being so blatantly partisan (after having such a fun kindness rally)--- even though I do 'kind of' (ahem) despise Boehner (no offense, CDAN fam). It turned out he was making a video, and the camera guy is his buddy, and they dragged me into being on-camera. Nothing more to report. Like I said, they killed my happiness buzz a bit, so my footage was surely worthless.
The rally WAS huge, this is the far far edge.
One hour after this photo, I was at the GWU hospital E/R. (musical sting-duh/duh/duh) Sick on vacation! You can tell I'm sick in the pic, though, because my hair's unwashed.
Thanks for the sweater love! I'm a helluva patriot....can't wear it 4th of July.
And finally, Agent**it, it is a delightful coincidence you like MY photo. Thank you for the kind words. I hope you understand, after this novel I've written, a bit more about why I like politics to be kept on sites where you expect them---I am so tired of vitriol everywhere. And CDAN is such a great place because we don't bicker, and best of all----when people are mean to ANYONE, even if you don't like the target either---y'all still call out meanness when it's unfair. I've 'known' about 25 of you for at least 6 years now, and I really love this CDAN 'Internet Civility Island.' Let's keep it this way! Thanks, guys!

Thanks, Agent**It. I JUST was looking at some of the "100 Best Signs" from the rally on Buzzfeed, but they chose mostly anti-Tea Party/Glenn Beck signs. He had a rally there just the week before.
This MUST be most of the political signs from the rally, though, because i swear I only remember the hilarious apolitical ones. Anyway, if anyone's interested, there are a few of the funny-only type signs that were so great in here: http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/the-100-best-signs-at-the-rally-to-restore-sanity
At this point, I'm too damn afraid to send in a picture, especially after what just happened tonight: the very sweet young lady clerk at Rite Aid told me I looked like a celebrity, and when I asked her which one, she started singing "I Dreamed a Dream"...yes, really. You can't make this shit up... *sigh*
@Libby Thanks for the follow-up story. That is so cool, and I agree with what you said about CDAN-ers being able to disagree while still be courteous (or be prepared to be called out!) Never change your avatar - - it always makes me laugh
@Susan Thanks for identifying yourself, and congrats on your big beautiful family. My sister has 4 close in age (all pre-teen/teens now) and it is a lively group to say the least

ReplyDeleteOnce again Cdan has the best looking readers:)
ReplyDeleteHi, gorgeous readers!
ReplyDeleteLibby, that is disappointing. As partisan as I am, I think civility is a much higher goal than any politics.
#4, you have Bette Davis eyes!
ReplyDelete#6, love the vibe
Ha, I was about to say to #4 that she had Bette Davis eyes but I stepped away to do a GIS and came back to see yodelay had already scooped me.
ReplyDelete#4 - You've got Bette Davis eyes.
Aw, thanks for the photo love, cutiepies.
ReplyDeleteWoah, #9, how tall is the husband? I used to work with a guy who was 6'10" and your husband looks taller!
ReplyDelete#3 here-- CDAN readers are the BEST! I don't comment much, but I do come here almost daily for my fix. You are all beautiful and funny in so many ways - inside and out!!! :)
