Carly Rae Jepsen stopped by Jimmy Fallon this week and the band and Jimmy and Carly all sat down and did an acoustic version with instruments you would find in a first grade classroom. They also all made each other laugh.
If you would prefer to watch Obama sing it, then you can watch this version of the song.
The Jimmy version is cute, but I prefer the Barack version. Thanks Enty for giving us choices. :)
ReplyDeleteI prefer the NPR version.
ReplyDeleteThere is also this mashup of Call Me Maybe and Third Eye Blind's Semi-Charmed Life:

Dude with the rainbow xylophone was cracking me up. The Obama version is too herky-jerky for me. :(
ReplyDeleteWatched Jimmy's show, loved it!
ReplyDeleteIs it just me or does the guy in the back right corner look like Wayne Brady's much cooler brother? I didn't watch the video, but in the still it really does like him to me.
ReplyDeleteWatched it last night, it was cute!
ReplyDeleteThey looked like they had so much fun doing that!
ReplyDeleteI adore this song. I don't want to...but I do. It's just so darn catchy. (Plus, she can actually sing without being autotuned- shocking!)
ReplyDeleteLove JF and this version of the song.
omama doesn't sip the obama-sheen syrup. sorry.
ReplyDeleteANd the roots. they wouldn't support my high end hemp shop I had in their old college town. So I can't stand behind them either.
Omama forgives and understands, but never forgets.
@Omama. I adore your kookiness!!!
ReplyDeleteThat first video was awesome. Is it crazy I've never heard that song before? I've heard of it 1000 times but just thought it was supposed to be a "Friday" type of song. I loved it, she has an amazing voice and the instruments just made it that much cooler. Thanks for the share, Enty! (And JF always has a special place in my heart because of Fever Pitch)
Carly Rae Jepsen came in third in Canadian Idol. No matter what you say about those shows, the competitors have to have good voices to make it near the top. I like the fluffy song, despite the annoyances of the Katy Perry and Bieber versions.
ReplyDeletelol @ obama
ReplyDeleteI love Jimmy Fallon.
ReplyDeleteGod I hate that song. It is inescapable >:(
ReplyDeleteWhy do we care about Fallon? At the same time, I would say the same about the SNL recaps so maybe I'm just a grump who would be just fine watching a dog playing with a pig.
ReplyDeleteShe just looks like a cool chick I want to hang out with
ReplyDeleteLoved the jimmy Fallon/The Roots video. LOVE.
ReplyDeleteAblake, I care because I think JF is really funny. He is so good at so many different impressions. I actually like when he breaks on camera because it makes me laugh just as hard.
ReplyDeleteTo each their own. I can't say I would be amused by watching a dog playing with a pig, unless they were my own.
I hate this song, but both of these videos made me smile. So it's not all bad. *L*
ReplyDeleteNever heard the song but I love both videos. Made me smile.
ReplyDeleteI saw this earlier tonight (Jimmy). Very cute.
ReplyDeleteI thought Obama was actually going to sing the song. Someone has way too much time on their hands.
Creative use of Obama's speeches. Unfortunately, not an Obama fan at all.
ReplyDeleteJimmy Fallon's video made me love this song. She's adorable and can really sing. I find myself singing it thru the day.
