Paris Jackson Says She Was Bullied

Oprah's interview with Paris Jackson was interesting. First of all that I found myself on OWN at any part of the weekend is one big shocker in itself. Second, that I actually watched any programming on the network is a once in a lifetime and that it was the interview with Paris Jackson miraculous. I will admit that I couldn't take very much of it, but Paris seems like a really nice person and Oprah is Oprah. She got Paris to admit that Paris had been bullied at school and online but doesn't know why. She says she has a way of dealing with people who bully her. Paris also said she is wary of people who want to be her friends and they could have ulterior motives. You know, like if they want to interview her. When Paris said people have ulterior motives, I thought to myself does she know that if her dad was someone else that Oprah would never even give her the time of day but because her dad was Michael Jackson, Oprah wants to be bff. How is that not an ulterior motive? At least her friends in school would probably want to be friends with her regardless of her family.

  1. When did bullying become the cool problem?

  2. Obviously I don't know the Jackson kids personally, but it is nice to see that they have turned out pretty normal for the most part. Well as normal as you can be given their upbringing. She needs to have a girl date with Willow Smith, they could probably be really good friends and support systems since they both have lived such cray lives.

  3. @Vicki, no kidding. I'd love to know people's definitions of bullying.

And to be fair, Oprah interviews famous people or people with something to say so it's not really an ulterior motive, it's kind of out in the open as to what she does.

  5. I think she looks like Aubrey O'Day a little, pre plastic surgery

  6. She really is a very pretty young lady, and she seems well adjusted and sweet. I don't know how talented she is, but I don't know how many acting gigs she'd land if she was just a regular kid with a non famous dad...

  7. um Paris, life could be worse. your mom could be vagdonna....public embarrassment daily.

  8. Also...maybe it's her eye colour that does it, but does anyone else think she bears a striking resemblance to Jared Leto?

  9. wait, those were the highlights...she was bullied? YAWN.

I sure hope she had a decent upbringing and I wish her well.

  10. I was thinking a Presley resemblance, could Lisa have been an egg donor?

Bullying is not ok, no matter how rich or how poor. Her opening up and letting kids know that it can happen even to someone like her, may help other kids know they are not alone.

Oprah, well she need to call it a day before she ends up tainting her legacy.

  11. I liked it better when I didn't know anything about these kids.

  12. Did they use Michael's, um, sperm (shudders) to conceive Paris? Because I think she really resembles him.

  13. No surprise she was bullied, her father being who he was. On twitter, people send her the most horrendous comments and pictures. MJ's death photo was sent to her by a number of people when it came out. Hope she'll get through all of it OK.

I am getting pretty tired of bullying being the new thing. I don't know anyone who goes through childhood and their teens without being teased by other kids or even picked on to some extent. Bullying is far more serious, but everyone now interprets the normal childhood teasing as bullying and is using it as an excuse for everything. Moat people live through childhood teasing without any lasting trauma.

  15. @Syko, and you know this because? I was teased a lot, and I'm here to testify that I did not "get over it" that easy, it haunted me for a long time. I think the issue is the attitude like yours, that the kids should man up and take it. Teach your damn kids how to respect other people!

  16. Did anyone else see this? I saw something online last week or so about how she was confused about MJ requiring the masks/veils/etc. he made the kids wear, but it was a video and I was at work so I couldn't watch it. Just wondering if she said anything on this show about that.

My own theory is that it fits in precisely with the pedophile profile. Pedophiles don't see their victims as humans. Masking them as MJ did is a physical manifestation of his sickness. Yes, I said that. Ever wonder why the reports of him molesting other children suddenly stopped? Well, they stopped around the time he procured his own victims, er, children. Just wait, when the boys are old enough, if they aren't too messed up inside, they will say something. Paris won't because I don't think he molested her.

  17. Do you know where I can buy her perfume yet?

  18. @Syko - I agree. There's a bit difference between being teased, which everyone has to learn to deal with, or being genuinely bullied, which is a horrific experience.

Excuse me, Redheat, but I did teach my "damn kids" how to respect other people. And I do know about being teased when you're a kid, because it happened to me too. But I don't call it bullying and I don't use it as an excuse for every failure in my entire life.

By the way, it would be very respectful not to refer to other people's children as "damn kids".

  20. The word of the moment is "bullying" and it's become a blanket statement to cover everything and as a result, the word has been cheapened.

Did Paris say how she was bullied? I don't think insensitive garbage being sent to her via Twitter is bullying. Those people have no power over her, they're essentially random strangers. And if it's that bad, close the account.

  21. I think the bullying now a days is different than It was 20 years ago. I think the kids now-a-days are growing up faster than they used to. I blame TV, movies, music and the media. Some may disagree, but I fully believe that is a large part of the problem, not all, but a lot. I'm not saying that some parents and the nurturing of the child doesn't have anything to do with it...but I just find that kids are growing up too fast. I had a 7 year old girl say to me recently that she would sometimes skip lunch at school, because she was fat and needed to lose weight. A 7 year old child said this to me. This child was insanely skinny as it was. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. All I thought about at 7 were barbie dolls. The peer pressure is insane. I wouldn't want to be a child now-a-days.

  22. There is a difference between being teased and being bullied, but neither is acceptable. I hate to say it but of course she is going to be a target, look who her father was and the image/character that he created for himself over the years.
@nunaurbiz I didn't watch the video but I did read an article about it and Paris said that at first she was really confused as to why they had to wear masks in public but then later realized that her father was doing it to protect them and hide their faces from the public so that they could lead somewhat normal lives, and walk around without being recognized.
That's all gone to sh*t now though, Paris especially has very striking and noticeable features.
I have to wonder if Michael is the father though, his kids are very light for someone who was born dark, regardless of pigmentation alteration.

  23. I am convinced she's Quincy Jones daughter.

  24. I think I know what she means by ulterior motives. Consider the Kris Humphries article today. Conversely, Paris wouldn't have granted Oprah an interview if she were anyone other than Oprah, so I think the ulterior motive argument is spurious.

  25. I don't believe that Michael is the father of any of those kids. To me they don't look like him at all. I am mixed and it is very noticable and I am not 1/2 black like those kids are supposed to be. I could be wrong.

  26. I think Blanket looks like Michael Jackson.

  31. I also was bullied in high school.

There was this clique of goth girls and they said really mean things about me just because I'm tall, athletic, have nice hair and my parents bought me a car for my 16th birthday.

I lived in fear every day that they might hex me...

    (Sympathy points! +1)

  32. I met someone working the other day at the library. A small man, very quiet and hesitant in speaking, wouldn't look directly at me. I mentioned he was a bit shy to the lady at the desk, she said he had been bullied relentlessly as a child and never recovered.

  33. yeah, i read on another site about this, and the comments on there were brutal. lots of hate. i do think that a lot of the issue with bullying depends on the personalty of the "victim", and their mind set at the time. one of my kids went through a ery difficult period with a bully. pushed, hit, called names, lunch taken, etc. got worse from there. that same kid got called cracker last week. when the girl said it again, in the elevator, my kid had a few words for her. (i did not approve, but as a friend of mine said, "sometimes you gotta throw an elbow"). that ended it. PERIOD. that could not have happened 3 years ago. she's stronger now.

  34. Speaking of the Big O, how come no posts about her being taken down from OWN by the Discovery Channel? I watched ABC World News Now, and it was a segment. It seems Discovery is tired of her bleeding channel. I bet by next year, OWN will be gone.

  35. I read it, I think she is having a breakdown over it which is why the news black out.

There's no way she's Michael's biological daughter. She has absolutely zero black features. Lest we forget Michael was born a black man. Anyone know who the real father is? The Brando kid, maybe?

  37. Yeah, I read this about the Big O too: http://www.nationalenquirer.com/celebrity/exclusive-oprah-tailspin

I'm just surprised at how the media is not talking about it.
