National Enquirer Blind Item
THIS former child star recently had a baby with her athlete husband, but the bundle of joy hasn’t helped their troubled marriage. The young couple have tried counseling, but it hasn’t curbed his urge to spend more and more of HER hard-earned money – and that’s left the actress seriously contemplating single motherhood.

ReplyDeleteHilary's husband comes from a VERY wealthy family (his father is worth in the neighborhood of $500 million.) Plus he makes over $1 million a year playing hockey. I'm finding it hard to believe he's spending her money (honestly, I didn't think she made that much.)

ReplyDeleteApparently, he retired in February after hip surgery. And yes, his family owns "The Brick," a huge furniture business in Canada. So although this blind seems obvious, it may not be.

ReplyDeleteYesterday Perez posted that Hilary is going around town telling everyone how much happier they are now that they have Luca, and how instead of making the marriage harder, baby has made their marriage that much stronger,better,happier, etc.
ReplyDeleteI have my own hard earned money, but when I visit my parents I would much rather use their credit card to buy my starbucks. It's my inner brat I know.
I don't think it's Hillary for the reasons stated above. Alyssa used to be married to a hockey player. What about one of those twins, Tia and Tamara. Once of them had a baby recently. Is one married to an athelete?

ReplyDeleteI think one of the Mowry twins is a more reasonable guess. I don't think Hillary Duff's husband needs her money.
Comrie does not need her money..he's beyond loaded from family money plus from playing hockey. He's a young guy and is already retired. I doubt this is him (tho I do think he cheats on her)

Furthermore, Comrie fits the description of the hockey player seeking D-lister notoriety because he is unhappy with himself for not becoming a household name on his own. He is known to lavish expensive gifts, such as, new cars on his D-list queen, and probably jets her off to beaches around the world whenever he can – seems like he feels that he needs to keep up with her lifestyle.

Well it can't be either Tia or Tamara, neither of their husbands are athletes.. one is an actor and the other is a news journalist I believe. I'm on board with the Hilary guess. Really can't think of anyone else... Long time reader and only second time poster love this site!

ReplyDeleteI think it's a typical NE blind item, ie made up out of thin air. Hilary Duff is a good fit, but as has been pointed out, Mike Comrie could buy Ms. Duff about 50 times over. I call BS.

It's Hillary Duff, they just had a baby and he's an athlete, the blind specifically states that he is spending her money not his so it's got to be them, his families money is just that it's not his at this point so he will spend her money since he has access to it.
ReplyDeleteHilary Duff. She needs to run. She grew up poor with a stage mom. Any money she has she worked hard for as a kid. Funny that she thought she was working him but it was the other way around.

ReplyDelete@CarmeliteLady: I knew the Duffs' cousins in elementary school and the girls were solidly middle class at the very least; I had the (dis)pleasure of meeting them both when we were little and Haylie was thought of as the star and acted accordingly. Anyway, it's not glamorous but I think the girls' dad owns/owned a gas station and the family lived in Bellaire.
ReplyDeleteIt's Hillary. It says "young" couple, Alyssa Milano is almost 40. Yes, Comrie's fam might be rich, but that doesn't mean he has money to spend from them. Why would they give him money when he married a pop star, after all? Plus, he is retired from hockey. It's them. What a shame.

ReplyDeleteI have a friend whose parents are weathly and he gets zero money from them. Could be the same situation with Comrie. Just cuz the family has money doesn't mean he gets any of it. And think about it.Until his recent retirement he was manking $1M. Why would they give him money?

ReplyDeleteI don't know if this is Jessica but wasn't it revealed that she gave him the money to buy her gifts? I don't see that relationship lasting. It's hard to believe she gave up Nick Lachey for this guy. They could have done the Lucy/Desi thing and made a mint.

ReplyDeleteIts Mike Comrie and Hillary Duff, he's a spoiled brat and a total a**hole. He is proabably getting money from his parents but spends hers too, because he's a jerk like that. I'm from Edmonton (where he is from and where he started his NHL days) and he was a huge d-bag. I had the displeasure of meeting him at a club in town and he showed what kind of guy he is; a lot of comments like "what do you mean I have to pay for drinks? don't you know who I am?" and "What do you mean you don't want to have sex in the VIP room/bathroom/hallway? Don't you know who I am?" Charming isn't he? I feel sorry for Hillary, every woman in the world deserves better than this d-bag. Want to hear a story? He was in one of the clubs that was a favorite for the team, chatted up a waitress, SOMEHOW got her to - ahem - pleasure him in the VIP room. She was caught by the manager, fired on the spot, and he LAUGHED HIS ASS OFF, came downstairs, and told everyone who would listen what happened.
ReplyDeleteBut the best Mike Comrie story by far is how he was "traded" from the team. Good ol' Mike had an affair with the wife of a teammate, was found out during a practice and confronted in the locker room, instead of saying he was sorry he decided to taunt his teammate about the affair. He then got the s**t kicked out of him by the team captain and after that no one on the team wanted him around anymore and even the management team wanted him gone; so they called him to the office and told him to take the trade and go quietly. He took the trade but gave an interview saying that the reason he's going is because its too hard and too much pressure playing for your hometown team. He also said that people in Edmonton expected too much from the players and he wanted to go somewhere where the fans weren't so invested in the players' performances. If you're wondering how I know about this story, it's a very open secret in Edmonton; his first game back with his new team there were a few fans in the stadium holding up signs that said "Boys, lock up your wives".
He couldn't return to Edmonton until all the players from the team he betrayed moved on or retired.
See? D-bag.
I could see it being Comrie as the athlete husband, seems like a low guy. According to this it was Tommy Salo's wife....

Hockey players aren't always that monied, unless you're a Gretzky or a Crosby. I bet Comrie has a sense of entitlement because his family has money, and that doesn't mean they're doling it out to him.
